Elkhart Hot Tub Hotels: Quick Guide

Quick reference for booking a Jacuzzi suite in Elkhart and the surrounding area, Indiana

Best Time to Visit

  • Summer (June-August): The busiest season for Amish Country tourism. The Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market (Tuesdays and Wednesdays, May through September) is one of the largest outdoor markets in the Midwest, drawing thousands of visitors. Lake Wawasee and the surrounding lakes are active for water recreation. Book Shipshewana and Middlebury properties 3-4 weeks ahead for summer weekends.
  • Fall (September-October): Autumn foliage across the rolling farmland is beautiful, and Amish Country attractions remain active. The Elkhart County 4-H Fair (late July) is a major regional event. Crowds thin after Labor Day and pricing drops. A strong value window for Amish Country visits.
  • Spring (April-May): Mild weather as Amish Country attractions begin their seasons. The Shipshewana Flea Market reopens in May. Good availability and moderate pricing. Maple syrup season in late March and early April adds a seasonal attraction.
  • Winter (November-March): Cold with snow, temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Many Amish Country shops and attractions reduce hours or close for winter. Hotels offer their lowest pricing. In-room Jacuzzis are especially appealing during Indiana winters. The Christmas season in Shipshewana and Middlebury brings holiday shopping events.
Booking tip: Elkhart County is the heart of Indiana's Amish Country, one of the largest Amish communities in the United States. The Heritage Trail driving route connects Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury, Shipshewana, and Nappanee through scenic farmland. If Amish Country is the purpose of your visit, Shipshewana and Middlebury offer the most authentic experience. Elkhart city is more of an industrial and RV manufacturing hub, positioned at the I-80/I-90 toll road junction. Notre Dame University in South Bend is about 20 miles west.

Important Booking Tips for Elkhart

  • Confirm the exact room type: Jacuzzi and hot tub rooms are specific upgrade categories. Look for "Jacuzzi Suite," "Whirlpool Room," or "Hot Tub Suite" when booking. At Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, and Country Inn properties, not every room includes a private tub.
  • Shipshewana Flea Market scheduling: The Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market operates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from May through September. Hotels in Shipshewana and Middlebury fill on Monday and Tuesday nights during market season. If visiting for the flea market, book at least 2-3 weeks ahead for summer dates.
  • Elkhart city vs. Amish Country: Elkhart city is an industrial and RV manufacturing hub at the I-80/I-90 junction. It offers lower hotel pricing and highway convenience but lacks Amish Country charm. Shipshewana and Middlebury are 20-30 miles east and offer the authentic Amish experience. Choose based on whether you want highway convenience or cultural immersion.
  • Notre Dame proximity: The University of Notre Dame in South Bend is about 20 miles west of Elkhart. Notre Dame football game weekends (September through November) can affect hotel availability and pricing across the entire region. Check the Notre Dame football schedule before booking fall weekends.
  • Pet-friendly picks: Hilton Garden Inn Elkhart, Baymont by Wyndham Elkhart, Brook Pointe Resort, Wyndham Garden Warsaw, Quality Inn Goshen, Hampton Inn Goshen, and Holiday Inn Express Goshen all accept pets. Confirm fees and size limits before booking.
  • Free breakfast included: Comfort Suites South, Baymont Elkhart, Microtel Inn Elkhart, Holiday Inn Express Goshen, Van Buren Hotel, Hampton Inn Middlebury, Brook Pointe Resort, Farmstead Inn, Comfort Suites North Elkhart, Quality Inn Goshen, Country Inn Elkhart North, Hampton Inn Goshen, and Best Western Elkhart Inn all include free breakfast. A standard amenity across the Elkhart County hotel market.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a large lab. Beautiful dog, but barking very loud. We love dogs, but I could see how that would scare some people. The innkeepers... the guy was nice and helpful. The lady was...odd. We thought it a little unprofessional that when we returned from dinner she was sleeping on the couch in the common area. There were no instructions on how to use the fireplace in our room so that took awhile to figure out, there was a note with details of the amenities and it mentioned a coffee and tea bar available 24/7, but no instructions on how to use the tea pot so.. no tea for me. The ceiling fan in our room was apparently operated by a switch on the wall- which we didn't know until morning. My husband was hot all night(I loved not having air blowing on me). I was upset that the indoor pool was closed(my fault for not noticing that as it was stated on the website-i just didn't think about it as it is an indoor pool). Bed was very comfortable, the shower was also nice. The breakfast was the best I've had anywhere. This man can cook! He gave good recommendations on places and directions to get there. Overall, it was good, but I would have went to a hotel had I known about the pool being closed. Pools are one of the amenities I specifically look for when looking for a place to stay. But, as I said, it was stated on the website that it was closed so I really have only myself to blame. At least the room was clean and the breakfast was amazing.

My husband took me here for my Birthday last weekend we had a fantastic time the house is set right in Amish country.
We arrived and Anne was there to greet us and her charming chocolate Labrador Boomer he really is the best.
My husband got the room with the king size bed and the whirl jet bathtub but my favorite thing's in that bathroom the heated towel rack and heated toilet seat yes the heated toilet seat was the best ever.
We went to the Dime store which is a candy store if you love candy like me I recommend then later we went to Doc Pierces for dinner I left my review it's a fantastic restaurant!!!!
The next morning Homer did his famous card trick before he served breakfast which was a egg souffle, bacon, hashbrown, fresh strawberries & grapes in a fruit dip and the most delicious coffee cake which I'm making this week for Thanksgiving.
Homer who is Amish taught me a few thing's like how to make garden tea Anne and Homer are the BEST and it was the BEST TIME so if your looking for a great place to stay Scottish Bed & Breakfast is your place these are the memories that last FOREVER!!!

First of all there’s no Brenda and Homer has way too much on his hands and mail delivery job. But to his credit he’s trying! We were promised a pool and it really would have been nice if he had either told us it was down or given us a discount for it being down especially since he called us and said he couldn’t get massages for us. He kept blaming the repair man but from the pictures it looks like it had been down a long time. The private patio didn’t have a table and chairs but a a swinging chair by a very noisy ac unit! Nice little pond though. Big Amish style breakfast was misleading as well. First morning was a casserole and we skipped the rest which led to an upset worker because we didn’t leave a our note in the right spot although we placed it where the note pad was! The trash was emptied once and the wet washcloths picked up once and no clean towels or daily room “freshening” as advertised. Otherwise the room was nice, clean and comfortable.
If I could give this place more stars I would. The owner who's name is Homer goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is memorable. His knowledge and insights of the area make your trip special. This adorable bed and breakfast has an indoor pool, DVD collection and our room had a fireplace and whirlpool tub along with a private balcony. The food every morning was really good with fresh fruit and locally sourced ingredients. You also get to choose what you want for breakfast the night before. The customer service here reminds you of how things were done years ago. We will be back and I highly recommend this place.

Week #5. Stayed here 3 days a week for nearby family business. Clean, comfortable, friendly and breakfast works for me!
Staff is friendly. And Amanda at front desk is very welcoming and attentive.
There are other hotels closer to Shipshewana, but we've enjoyed the 10 minute ride to town.

Management staff is rude. The General Manager shouted at me and interrupted me when I actually made contact. Swore I received a refund and blamed my bank for a reinstated a charge. My bank stated that they did not reissue a charge that they do not perform POS transactions Impossible to resolve an issue when you can't contact them via telephone because the phone is almost never answered and voicemails are not returned. If anyone knows the owner(s I would definitely speak to them instead.
I would give 0 stars if possible. They got money from me with a cancellation less than 5 minutes old. If they refunded why was it rebilled to my account? Sounds like a lack of ethics on their part.

Upon check in to our room we found that the room has not been swept. Carpet has dirt and crumbs as well as bathroom floor dirty. We asked if it could help cleaned. We were given a different room. Much cleaner. But the next day room service never came to clean towels trash anything. We tries calling front desk 4 times from room. No answer. So tried calling the hotel directly..no answer. Walked to front desk no one there. Outside smoking for at least the last 20 money we have tried to call them. Service and hospitality terrible. Room and beds comfortable. Breakfast good when they finally restock

This is not a good area for hotels, but even still, this is not a good hotel. Entire lobby stinks. Shower is mediocre. Toilet did not flush well. The construction is so poor that we were kept up constantly by the people in the room above ours. Our room would shake and vibrate every time a step was taken above us. The bathroom door would either open on its own and slam against the wall or slam close on its own.

Realistically, it's not clear surrounding hotels would be much better.

Prices reasonable. Clean and tidy rooms. Breakfast was undesireable and when we went at 9 (breakfast till 10), most things were gone and waited and waited for resupply. Was even out of coffee! Housekeeping staff extremely friendly. We arrived around 6pm on Thur Oct 5 and the check-in lady didn't seem to want go out of her way to accommodate our reserved reservations made a month prior. I specifically asked for 2 adjoining rooms bc my sister and husband travel with us and they need looked after and need our help often. I found out not only were we in no adjoining rooms but we had rooms on separate floors!!!! She didn't seem to care and just excused it as we don't have any and she never even looked! I told her I made the reservations FOR ADJOINING ROOMS but she just didn't seem to care one bit! I wish I had her name I'd put it here! My sister tried calling desk for help with something and told me this same lady answered first time and tried give her instructions rather rudely. My sister had call back and said desk lady wouldn't even answer her after that first call so my sister laid her phone down and came back about 5 minutes later and the phone was still ringing. This really scared my sister as they need help and this person just didn't care.
I hope management reads this and fires her . This was our first and last stay here!

The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. But since this hotel is made from wood, you hear every noise that happens around your room. Whoever was above us was stomping around and running and jumping off the beds for hours. I can only assume kids. Tried calling the front desk to complain, but the phones weren't working to call the front desk, room to room, or even outside lines. Finally went down to the front desk to complain and they said they would handle it, but nothing happened. Banging went on well past midnight. I'll definitely make sure to never stay here again, and I highly recommend no one else does either. The way the staff handled things was horrible.

Check-in was ok. Girl at the counter was not what you'd call friendly. She was more interested in being outside smoking than working. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Free wifi means you have to join the Hilton club. We tried to call the front desk 3 times to get the password, but no one answered! Breakfast was great....lots of choices! Check out was better. Girl was super pleasant!
