We stayed here four nights this last week.. My wifes mom was in the hospital.. The staff was very friendly and pleasant... Rooms were clean and from entering the lobby you could tell by the smell and look that this place was clean and they cared about the appearance of there hotel.. Quiet at night no problem sleeping beds were great... For the price friendly staff you couldn't ask for anything better
I had a great three-night visit! The staff was really kind and helpful! There weren't many by name, but at the register, a kind man named was really helpful in trying to find something to put in my toddler's breakfast.
a family member & i booked two hotel rooms over Halloween weekend. we were celebrating a wedding & hoped to have a quiet place to land for a couple of nights. unfortunately i did not book this myself, so i was unable to check reviews. if i would have been made aware of the location, based on reviews i would not have booked here.
the parking lot was pretty empty for a friday night (you also pay extra to park). immediately upon entering the hotel i noticed how outdated it was, but i was willing to give it a chance. i do not consider myself high maintenance, but when i entered my hotel room i immediately noticed many things of concern. there was a strange smell & a layer of dust over everything. a lightbulb hung naked on the wall missing its sconce. the mirrors looked like they had been sneezed on, a lamp flickered when i turned the heater on, & the handle to the toilet fell off without me even touching it. speaking of the toilet, the under rim was black & there was a hair on the seat. there were also many touch points that had not been cleaned (doors, handles, lamp switches & side table handles). i went to the front desk to show the employee photos & asked for a new room. the man quickly got me a new key for the next room over but did not offer an apology.
the second room was marginally cleaner, however it featured several strands of hair wrapped round the shower spicket. i also had to go through several towels to find one without hair or stains. the switches on the lamp side tables were also sticky. by this point i was too exhausted to make it an issue.
roll around to about 12:55am & i hear my door starting to unlock. i had dead bolted it but the room did not have that extra door latch that most hotel rooms do. it was an employee (who i had not seen before). turns out when i was moved it was not noted in the system so this employee was unaware i was staying there. this was a huge safety concern that left me panicked. the one star can be counted towards the comfortable bed & pillows. we checked out the next morning & were able to get a full refund through the reservation site.
long story short, trust the reviews. it sounds like my experience was fairly tame compared to what some have seen. i am sure it has everything to do with management. the place needs to be condemned. i’ve included photos, view at your own risk.
The smell when we walked in was off putting but I tried to think positive. The second we walked into our room my daughter started SCREAMING “there’s bugs on my ankles!” I looked down at my feet and from my shoes to my knees I was COVERED in little black jumpy bugs (fleas). We immediately turned around and asked for a refund. I’ve never seen anything like that in my life.
Not only did they have to move us to their sister location, but the room was half the size of the one we ordered and paid for so my mom didn't even get to stay with me and ended up leaving me alone on my birthday trip. The room had a smaller hot tub than we paid for, and when my mom came back in the morning to hang out with me and my grandmother who stayed with me instead, there was a cockroach in the hot tub with my grandmother. It was literally crawling on her. When we tried to talk to the staff about it at the sister location, he said there was nothing they could do, and instead of killing the cockroach threw it in his trashcan alive, so it could just crawl back out. When we asked for a refund, he refused saying we had to go back to the Baymont to issue refunds. So my mother called them and the woman on the phone hung up on her. My mother finally decided to drive back over and only then did they issue the refund. We haven't even gotten the refund yet, so I don't know if they will actually, but in all this was a very terrible experience. Not to mention, as we were leaving the sister location. We sold multiple bugs and screws laying on the entrance floor.
Don’t go here in the winter if you plan to use the pool. The thermostats read 50-60 degrees because the heaters couldn’t keep up with all the windows letting cold air in. The pool water itself was rather cool as well.
The bathroom sink outlets didn’t work in the rooms and the hotel called my cell at 1am but couldn’t explain why when I asked the next morning. Rooms were clean though so that was good.
The quality of my most recent stay at the Best Western Muncie was exceptional. The team was exceedingly accommodating, particularly when I required a late departure. The daytime manager and his wife were charming and immediately elicited a sense of comfort. Every evening, I relished the warmth of the pool. The sole minor issue was that the linens were somewhat scratchy, but this did not detract from the overall positive experience. I highly recommend this establishment.
I had an exceptional experience at the Best Western Muncie! The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable, and I was particularly grateful for the opportunity to check out late. The superintendent and his wife were exceedingly cordial and accommodating. The pool was a delightful addition, as it was both balmy and tranquil. I could not be more satisfied with my stay, with the exception of the linens, which could be gentler. Best Western, I am grateful.
Our most enjoyable stay in a long time! The entire team made an effort to ensure that we were at ease. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing, with accommodations that are both spacious and immaculate. Every morning, I relished the delectable breakfast and the pool. I am grateful for the exceptional experience.
An exceptional hotel with exceptional customer service. We were immediately welcomed by the personnel at the front station. The environment was both inviting and secure. The room was immaculate and supplied all the necessities we required. An exceptional value for the price!
