The Yellow House Inn is amazing! The house and grounds are beautiful and the hosts were simply the best! The breakfast was wonderful and the afternoon treats delicious! It is close to hiking on the Blue Ridge and to the quaint town of Waynesville. Highly recommend a visit.

My husband and I visited The Yellow House with for a milestone anniversary celebration and could not have been more happy with the experience. Chad and his entire staff was warm and welcoming. Our room and the entire property were beautiful and in pristine condition and the breakfast each morning far exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return for a longer visit!

The Yellow House lives up to its outstanding reviews…and more!We were not familiar with Western North Carolina, and were looking for a location which would serve as a base for day trips—but also provide a quiet, relaxing, somewhat upscale resting place in the evenings. Based on Internet reviews, we booked a room at the Yellow House for 5 days (which I originally thought might be too long.) Both my wife and I agree that we would not change a thing about our stay (unusual for us). From the time we were greeted at the door when we arrived, to Chad wishing us a pleasant journey as we departed, we were pleased with our B&B choice. Our room was in the Pond Building and afforded us privacy, while overlooking the ponds. The room was clean and charming, with an extremely comfortable King Bed with luxurious sheets and pillows. We started off each morning with an exquisite three course breakfast and usually a talk with Chad, one of the owners, about what to do that day (if we had not had that discussion with him the night before.) In fact, it was his personal counsel, along with the detailed handouts that Chad and Josh had available for guests which made each day trip (to a view, hike, waterfall and/or town) so worthwhile and enjoyable. They even prepared a wonderful picnic basket one day. BTW, as well as suggestions on what to do, they gave great advice on what to consider skipping!Obviously we were extremely pleased with our visit to Western North Carolina, Waynesville and the Yellow House – due in large part to the role that Chad and Josh played in our stay and experiences. It exceeded our high expectations in so many ways.

Truly a premier B&B. My only observation that is the least bit contrary is that the toilet paper rack was barely accessible in my bathroom, and the toilet was not ADA Compliant height. I mentioned this because I am somewhat impaired. You couldn't pull up by the pedestal sink in front of you because it was not adequately secured to the floor.

My husband booked a Valentine's getaway for us at The Yellow House, and prior to our visit the host/owner Chad graciously worked with us to create a menu for the special dinner and our breakfasts that would work with my allergies and very specific dietary needs. The food was off the charts. The attention was out of this world. The little touches like having cozy robes, hand-thrown mugs, books on the shelves, tea, cocoa, cider and a hot water dispenser made it feel like home. Chad and the whole staff went far beyond any expectations. We booked two nights and had such an incredible experience, we booked a third night and stayed through the whole weekend. The home has been redone since the last time we were here. And it's just gorgeous. So many improvements and upgrades! The grounds were wonderfully maintained and the scenery just glorious! Chad gave us some suggestions for dinner in town, and his recommendations were perfect for us! Honestly the only thing that would have made our stay more perfect would have been to get to stay longer! Thank you Chad!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Yellow House On Plott Creek Road, and I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! From the moment I arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Chad, who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable during our stay. The B&B itself is absolutely gorgeous, with tastefully decorated rooms that are both cozy and spacious. We particularly loved the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and forests, which made for a truly peaceful and serene atmosphere.Breakfast was also a highlight of our stay, with a delicious spread of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that were cooked to perfection.Overall, I can't recommend The Yellow House highly enough! If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing retreat in the heart of nature, this is definitely the place to go. Thank you so much to the staff for an unforgettable stay! Five stars all around.

There is no way I can ever stay anywhere EXCEPT for at the Yellow House on Plott Creek Road when I am in the area. Everything about this b&b is so wonderful, I did not want to leave. The owner and all of the staff are so kind and friendly and accommodating, they are the very embodiment of hospitality. The freshly cooked breakfast is delicious. Their hotel grounds is gorgeous and the nature there is lovely. The rooms are full of old school charm. It was the epitome of a relaxing vacation prior to moving on to the next leg of my busy travel schedule and I am so glad to have found this gem!

We were looking for a beautiful place to relax and rewind. We found a gem!!! The Yellow House is beautiful. The grounds are serene and relaxing. Chad met us at the door upon our arrival and was a wonderful host! He gave us a quick tour and asked about our choice for breakfast the next morning. He went out of his way to make a wonderful breakfast noting sugar restrictions. We hope to return to this lovely place again in the future.

I'm so grateful for this stay! It was a challenge to find a great pet-friendly place for a special occasion because we already had one that we liked but the Yellow House exceeded all the expectations! We stayed in the Kinsale suit for 3 nights and enjoyed ourselves all around, starting from the fantastic views and the unique atmosphere of the house to the quietness and peacefulness of the pond area. The area is also great, neat, and beautiful, and is close to many trails, resorts, and entertainment options.Chad and his team's hospitality is incredible, and we felt like special family guests throughout our stay. They thought about every little detail that we could imagine and gave us the warmest welcome. And delicious food!I'm in love with this place. It deserves to be visited and appreciated!

The comfy, stately, plush ambiance at The 1900 Inn on Montford made our stay in Asheville fun and memorable. Our hosts, Willie and Shawnie Gruber are a great team. They’re fun, informative, kind and helpful! They certainly know how to make each guest feel at home and have an uplifting experience. It’s no surprise they’re in an elite group of Bed and Breakfasts/Inns called the select registry. Our room, the Fitzgerald was spacious and cozy with a lovely fireplace. Shawnie had a vase filled with fresh flowers and a handmade card placed in our room for our anniversary. She even did the calligraphy herself. Such a beautiful gift, we were very touched.Shawnie’s assortment of freshly baked cookies were set out daily with other snacks in the bright sunny sitting room, where tea, coffee and assorted beverages to go were available. The impressive way the cookies were packaged with Shawnie’s handmade labels, was another lovely touch.A lot of thought and care was also put into the 3 course breakfasts served daily at 9am. The fresh berries, croissant bread with the egg fried in the middle and spice cake with cream cheese frosting were simply divine. We found that the breakfasts fortified us most days until dinner. We were grateful and enjoyed how our hosts combine a historical experience with classy comfort and community at 1900 Montford Street.Thank you so much!

Willy and Shawnie are the best hosts and have made this B&B one of the best lodging venues we have experienced. The food and ambience were superb. They made our anniversary very special.

Willy and Shawnie are amazing. We loved our stay at the 1900 Inn on Montford. We loved the music on Saturday night. The coffee was outstanding. We walked to dinner. We stayed in the carriage house in the William Morris suite. Fireplace was warming, steam shower was a must. Hot tub in room exceptional. My wife and I couldn’t say enough niceties about this place. We loved it here and hope to visit again someday soon. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. David and Liz

A delightful first visit which is sure to be our go to place in Asheville! So many personal touches by truly thoughtful hosts. An unexpected upgrade, a bottle of Prosecco and sweet note for our anniversary and the delightful breakfasts, all made our stay wonderful. But the Innkeepers are the highlight of the Inn. Such a friendly and welcoming pair. We hated to leave. But we will back!!!

Just got home from another wonderful stay at 1900 Inn on Montford. We stayed in Zelda, it is spacious suite with 2 bedrooms and a comfortable sitting area. The bathroom was remodeled this year and includes a steam shower and a beautiful soaker tub! The weather was great for walking and hiking, ask Willy for recommendations on the best places to go…..he knows them all! Already planning my next trip to Asheville and will definitely be staying at 1900 Inn on Montford! 1900 Inn on Montford = DESTINATION in Asheville!!

We didn't want to leave. My Husband and I recently stayed in the Cloisters Suite at the 1900 Inn on Montford and had an amazing time. Willy and Shawnie made us feel so welcomed and the Cloisters suite was private, beautiful, comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet . The three course breakfast each morning was above and beyond. Something different each morning and not your average hum drum breakfast. Also, let's not forget Shawnie's homemade cookies throughout the day. On our arrival, we were greeted by the Conceriege, Christine, who showed us around our suite. Also greeting us were fresh flowers, Asheville chocolates and champagne.... Wow! They also have Saturday evening porch music with coffee, wine and craft beers, so much fun. This is a first class Bed and Breakfast that we highly recommend. The title of my testimonial is , didn't want to leave and that is how my Husband and I judge a vacation getaway. If you don't want to leave, then you know it was the right choice.PS. We love it so much, we have booked another date!Vicki and Jimmy Grady

My wife and I returned here and stayed in The Cloisters. It has been several years since we have been here. Under new management and many needed upgrades and refurbishments have been implemented. An absolutely blissful experience. Quiet, relaxed setting near downtown. Walking distance from wonderful food and drinks.Very attentive service with respect for your privacy. Coffee, Expresso, gourmet desserts and snacks throughout the day if you desire, All were exquisite. Everything we loved about this place was on point. Thank you to everyone involved for making us feel welcome and comfortable. Our Doberman Ronin Lucius was also very pleased. Definitely our place to stay in Asheville.

Had a 9 day stay at the 1900 Inn on Montford at Christmas time and Willy and Shawnie were so hospitable and kind. Everyday there was a different delicious breakfast. We were there on a Saturday for live music, what a treat! They gave great recommendations for dinner spots and activities to do locally. We stayed in the Zelda room the suite on the top floor was beautiful, this room would be fantastic for people looking for a 2 room suite. Loved the whole Inn, the history, the decoration, the cleanliness, and the sheets! Will definitely be going back for more stays in the future!

There are a number of lovely B&Bs in Asheville, many with strong ties to the rich history of the town. If all you’re looking for is a place to sleep, any of them will do. But if you’re looking for an incredible experience with superb breakfasts and an amazing attention to detail, stay at the 1900 Inn on Montford. Our small business Knitrino hosted a knitting retreat in Asheville that was held across a number of B&Bs in the area, and the very best decision we made was adding 1900 Inn on Montford to the lineup. Willy & Shawnie were incredible, like adding a full team to our tiny staff of 2! They coordinated so many things that were well outside the purview of innkeepers, from making sure we had plenty of excellent wine and beer at our opening night party, to introducing us to local chefs, scheduling porch music to align with our party, and even making a stencil from our logo for the powdered sugar that was dusted on breakfast. They accommodated our every request, and even accommodated things we couldn’t have asked for. When we didn’t have a gluten-free option for our dessert the second night (at a DIFFERENT venue) they whipped up a batch of gluten-free cookies for us, to which one guest proclaimed “This is the best cookie I’ve ever eaten!”The inn itself is exquisite, with large comfortable beds and stunning bathrooms. The breakfasts are outstanding. But hands-down the best part of the 1900 Inn on Montford is the innkeepers–they’re the reason we’ll come back!

Beautiful bed and breakfast that has everything you could ask for and more. Everything you see is pleasing to the eye and it's simply magical to stay in one of the rooms in the carriage house. The location is close to downtown Asheville, we've actually walked into downtown before when feeling particularly active. The best parts of staying here are the owners and the breakfast. The owners are very kind and friendly people who you can tell truly enjoy what they do. The breakfasts that Shawnie makes are amazing. My husband and I talk about the food all year and savor every bite when we get to return.

This place is very special. We have stayed at many luxury hotels around the world but we keep coming back to the Inn. We have stayed twice in the Cloisters room and will absolutely be returning again. The room is fantastic - large, beautiful touches and amenities, and a luxury spa bathroom. Our most recent stay was right before Christmas and Shawnie and Willy made the room feel festive. We love their espresso/coffee machines, the best-weve-ever-had cookies, and the varied breakfasts. We got to enjoy live bluegrass music with a holiday twist in the Inn which was wonderful. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable but also close to town and all the fun things to explore in Asheville.Simply put, there are no complaints. If you're like us, you'll also want to bring things home from the Inn to remind you of your time there like their sheets, blankets, and mugs. We're forever fans!
