The staff here are phenomenal!! Especially, I believe her name was, Sarah. She really pulled through and helped us out. Made booking much easier than using Expedia. Great rooms for us and our two pups. Highly recommended and will be back when we’re passing through again.
Cons: the age and so much being under maintenance. The tv also didn’t work. They moved us to a new room but none of the tvs works due to issues with their cable provider. $30 pet fee.
Pros: The staff were very friendly. Pet friendly. The staff wanted to say hello to our dog and offered us fruit, yogurt and burritos even though we had missed the set breakfast time. The rooms were quiet! We stayed in a newer hotel before and it was so loud. This place only had two floors and even though there were other guests across the hall we never heard them. The beds were comfortable too. Lobby has free lemon water and pretzels.
We’d probably stay here again just hope renovations are more complete next time.
My night at the Best Western in Salina was everything I could’ve hoped for. It was convenient, inexpensive (I wasn’t even charged for my dog), and the bed and room were comfortable. Best of all, the free breakfast was incredible! I had fresh strawberries and blueberries on my oatmeal, and the water for my tea was piping hot (which is critical, but hard to come by). 2 thumbs up!
Cutest BW I’ve been to thus far on our road trip. I loved the festive fall decor in the lobby and provided refreshments. The second floor hallway has the aesthetic of a scene out of The Shining, and as a lover of all things spooky I got the biggest kick out of that and loved walking down the hall to/from our room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable which is a huge plus in my book. The bathroom is a bit dated and could use some updating, but overall the room was nice. The staff were all super friendly, especially the woman running the breakfast, which had a great spread and variety compared to some of the other places we’ve stayed on our trip. I was most pleasantly surprised with our stay.
Service was great! Everyone was friendly and quite accommodating. We were there for a wedding, so no time to swim on Sat night, but they opened the pool an hour and a half early so our kids could swim before we had to check out Sun morning. And breakfast was extensive- bacon, sausage, eggs, chorizo, biscuits and gravy, regular waffles and red velvet waffles, oatmeal with all the toppings, and all the other typical continental breakfast items. Rooms were fine, a little dated and worn, but clean and comfortable, but it was the staff that really earned their five stars!
I pulled in late on a Thursday night, 10:30pm or so. Front desk woman seemed upset that I came in so late, and barely answered my questions about amenities or what time breakfast was etc. I was simply too tired to keep driving to my destination so was hoping to get a room at this barely full motel/hotel/whatever. Awful front desk service, and then the room was gross. NOT CLEAN. Thread-bare bed sheets seemed unclean, carpet on floor unclean, tub and shower gross. I slept in clothes not trusting what I was sleeping in, and then laid my own towel on top of the top-sheet to try and get some rest. Bed bugs? Can't confirm because I got my bags and left as soon as the sun came up, but woke up with little bites on my ankles where my socks didn't reach. I'd be afraid to peel back the sheets or flip a mattress here. As a person that travels a lot, this was hands down the worst experience I've had in years. Owners of this establishment should shut down for 2 days and fumigate and do a deep clean, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THIS PLACE NEEDS.
Hotel really isn't bad just have some complaints the shampoo bottle dispenser in shower was out and the tub filled with a inch of water while showering. But I think what annoyse more is I'm driving a u haul with trailer and where they tell u to park is a big lot of dirt and no lighting so with it being late and raining it was a pretty stressful trying not to get either stuck or just covered in mub
Room was clean. We were on a motorcycle and I left the key on which ran the battery down. In the morning the bike would not start so a staff member went and bought jumper cables. That did not work so another staff member drove me to an auto parts store where I bought a battery charger. Staff went beyond helpful.
Horrible! They charged me for my room twice. Then they also charged a random 50 dollars to my card two weeks after the stay. I called to get a refund for the additional unauthorized charges and was told they would go ahead and process a refund and that the charges were a “mistake” A week goes by still no refund, so we call again to find out THEY NEVER PROCESSED A REFUND when they said they did. Finally today we were able to get our refund processed for real this time. I feel so violated and scammed by this establishment. Not to mention the continental breakfast was probably the worst breakfast we had ever had in our entires lives. Everything was overcooked or stale. So gross. Stay away from this place.
Worst coffee and breakfast of any hotel/motel I have ever stayed in!! Microwave egg circles were so rubbery they couldn’t be cut with a plastic knife, sausage was actually cold in the middle (salmonella anyone?) and the only fruit was rotten or worm filled apples. Rooms weren’t good either. Beds needed replaced 10 years ago. Shower had hair and dried shampoo all over the walls. I have stayed Quality Inns that are decent. This one is no where close to the brand standard.

For Salina, KS, booking 1 to 3 weeks in advance is usually enough for a normal stay, especially on weekdays. The best time is usually late spring through early fall, when the weather is warmer and more convenient for a short getaway. May through September is generally the easiest period for travel, while early fall can be a better pick if you want pleasant weather without the hottest summer temperatures.
