Where exactly is the jacuzzi in Garden City hotels?
We analyzed 4 Garden City hotels with in-room jacuzzis and mapped where the tub is located, the average nightly rate, and which hotel leads each category.
This hotel felt really nice. Everything was very clean, the staff was helpful, and the entire place was spotless. Our room even had a ceiling fan, which was a great touch. Wish all Best Western Plus locations were like this! If we’re back in the area, we will definitely stay here again.
If you have any chemical sensitivity, stay away. I’m really disappointed by the lack of awareness about this. Upon entering the hotel, you’re assaulted by enough fragrance to hide a few dead animals. You take the elevator to your room—fragrance dispenser. Inside the room, the scent changes to a cleaner smell, and you immediately want to open the window to let in whatever cow-farm or burning-grass smell is outside. But inside, it smells a bit more like hot-tub chemicals.
Assume you get the room aired out and jump in the bed. Whatever they use on the bedding is stronger than at any hotel I’ve stayed at. It sticks to your skin, and you’ll smell it on yourself later. The towels are honestly less smelly. Unfortunately, I’ve stayed here twice, and it’s not getting any better. If you’ve got dirty socks, just walk around and they’ll smell ‘clean.’
Fairly sure the air quality in this hotel is like California in the fire season.
With the constant travel I’ve been doing the past five months for a new job, this is the best hotel I’ve stayed at, hands down. Yeah, their pool and hot tub are down for maintenance, big deal. It’ll be back. Breakfast is exceptional as far as this level of hotel goes. Great service as well.
Our family had THE BEST STAY! Parking was a breeze. Our room was next to the elevator which was great. It was also easy to get to breakfast and the gym. We loved that there was coffee, tea, and water provided all day. The coffee tasted great. There wasn't a strange aftertaste. The outdoor and indoor decor was beautiful. The inside was decorated for fall and was so pretty. There was a bar and the bartender made awesome margaritas! Breakfast was delicious. There was sausage and biscuits every morning. They were SOOO GOOOD. The lady who ran breakfast was so sweet. My husband hurt his back and needed to ice it, so I asked her if she had a zip lock bag and she have me one. So so sweet. The room was wonderful. You can log into tons of TV apps. There is also a casting feature from your phone to the TV. The TV is a flat screen and is bi. The bathroom is beautiful. Tiled looking walls. The soap had a citrus smell and was invigorating. The towels, napkins, and toilet paper were all folded so beautifully. They looked like shells and bows. Lots of details. There was a great desk for me to work. Lots of space for my laptop, papers, and books. The a/c unit worked wonderfully. The microwave, keurig, fridge, and freezer were so nice to have in the room. The shower had a rain head and the water felt amazing. I forgot that the lobby area has a beautiful fireplace and tons of seating. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay!!!
Noooooo pool. Apparently it is listed in the fine print. But not easily seen. No discount was given. Nor a care was given. We were told they would that refund us for the room. But good luck finding another room. The whole town was booked. Nothing like being taken advantage of... And telling our little kids there is no pool for the weekend. It would also appear that the pool is down until at least January. We asked what all they offer for families, and were told, Nothing... But said that have a mini bar.. No good here... We have had an okay experience so far then that. The hot breakfast has been pleasant.
Liz was cleaning the outside of the property when we arrived. She got us booked into a great room immediately with lots of suggestions for dinner (as the restaurant had closed earlier that Sunday). Clean, quiet room and an overall great experience. Vera checked us out the next morning. Good location and highly recommended due mostly to the courtesy of the staff.
We got about 10 rooms. People were friendly. Easy check in and out. Sadly during breakfast their machines weren't working so they had no coffee, juice to drink at breakfast but aside from all that it was a good stay. Clean. Comfortable
It's fine and does the job I guess but my last couple visits have been less than ideal.
In general it's pretty dated and feels like old and some seams are starting to separate, literally in some cases. Desperately needs a refresh.
They'll give you a coupon for the steakhouse next door but it's not good food. The breakfast is fine - you order from a menu and they'll bring it out.
My main issue though - I arrived and found my door wouldn't open, went back and they said it might be jammed so I tried again but needed my entire body weight to get it and it was inconsistent both in efficacy and which direction I was supposed to go. I went back up and requested another room and they dismissed it and said they'd help me. I insisted on another room and was met with an eye roll and a "we'll see if we have one" and then no eye contact silent hand off of the new key.
My issue is not the attitude (honestly I get it), but that a major concern was dismissed and made to seem not important. A room door being so stubbornly jammed (or jammed at all) is a safety concern. It's not a ">.
Watch out they had a pending for $118 when my room was only like $95 and a $20 incidental. I normally wouldn’t say anything but it seems to me they had a deposit and incidental and never said anything to me. When I called about the $20 it was attitude so I didn’t even bring up the difference between the actual price of the room and the $118. Clarion that is bad business. Tell people what to expect. Be transparent. Because of this I probably won’t stay there again but the room was very clean and yes it was nice but the lack of transparency killed the stay. Response to the clarion: My reservation was under Angela kemp. See choice still hasn’t changed my name since I got married. The $118 charge changed and posted as the correct rate with tax and fees however the $20 incidental deposit had yet to be refunded. There was no damage to the room or anything. If there was a problem with the room then feel free to call me at the number on my profile. But I did three walk throughs and the room was in good order.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The pool was cool and relaxing with an excellent little hot tub to soak in. Breakfast was nice and hot. Everyone we talked to was so kind and helpful. Not a fan of the parking situation and there isn't much to do nearby - Parrot Cove was underwhelming - but the hotel itself was lovely.
