Jacuzzi Configurations in Topeka and Lawrence

  • In-bedroom Jacuzzi (most common): Tub placed in the room itself. Found at Super 8 Topeka Forbes Landing, Ramada Downtown Topeka, Quality Inn & Suites Lawrence, Baymont by Wyndham Lawrence, Comfort Inn & Suites Lawrence, SureStay Plus Topeka Northwest, and Virginia Inn Lawrence.
  • Bathroom-installed spa tub: Jacuzzi integrated into the hotel bathroom. Found at Endeavor Inn & Suites Topeka, Holiday Inn Express Topeka West, and DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrence.
  • Heart-shaped Jacuzzi tub: Found at Baymont by Wyndham Lawrence - the only heart-shaped hot tub property in the Topeka-Lawrence market, near the University of Kansas campus.

Important Booking Tips for Topeka and Lawrence

  • KU Jayhawks home games (football and basketball): University of Kansas home football games (September–November) and basketball games at Allen Fieldhouse (November–March) are the strongest demand drivers in the Lawrence hotel corridor. Book 4–6 weeks ahead for any KU home game weekend - Lawrence hotels fill quickly on game Saturdays.
  • Confirm your room type: Not all rooms in these hotels include a Jacuzzi. Look specifically for "Jacuzzi Suite," "Whirlpool Suite," or "Spa King" when booking to avoid a standard room at check-in.
  • Heart-shaped Jacuzzi at Baymont Lawrence: Baymont by Wyndham Lawrence is the only property in the Topeka-Lawrence market with a heart-shaped Jacuzzi tub - at $87/night near the KU campus. It carries a lower guest rating (6.0/10), so couples should weigh the romantic feature against the overall guest experience.
  • Best budget options: Virginia Inn Lawrence ($66/night, 8.0/10) is the most affordable Jacuzzi hotel in Lawrence with a boutique feel and evening wine hour. SureStay Plus Topeka ($68/night) is the most affordable in Topeka but carries a low rating. Super 8 Forbes Landing ($74/night, 9.3/10) is the best budget-to-rating value in the entire market.
  • Ramada Downtown Topeka for the most complete stay: With a restaurant, bar, seasonal pool, spa service, and 1,772 reviews at a 9.3/10 rating, Ramada Downtown Topeka is the most complete Jacuzzi hotel experience in the market - and the most-reviewed property by a wide margin.
  • Lawrence as a college-town romantic base: Lawrence's Massachusetts Street downtown is one of the most vibrant college-town main streets in the Midwest - with independent restaurants, live music venues, and boutique shopping. DoubleTree Lawrence and Virginia Inn are both within easy reach of Mass Street for couples who want a Jacuzzi suite combined with walkable dining and nightlife.

Ive stayed in alot of places but this was probably the most interesting. Place looks way past it's prime and abandoned, grounds were unkept, the main entrance is closed, I only found the entrance in the alley because there happened to be like 3 cars parked there. You walk in this entrance and it's dark and looks like an abandoned building, then wander around until you find the desk. The guy behind the desk was cool. The elevator was sketchy, the room was quite large and had a balcony but it just looked old with old furniture and things were covered in dust. Not a big deal, I slept fine and that was the main purpose. but what a weird place. If you want to stay in something like this I recommend it otherwise I'd look elsewhere ?

I had to pre pay for 2 nights. By the way the booking company said non refundable. We arrived @317pm August 11for a 2 night stay. Upon arrival we noticed very few lights were on SAFETY HAZARD. The desk clerk Alonzo advised they had just got the power back on. But no cable or internet were going to be available. He took us up on elevator. It sounded as if a train wreck happened. We got to our room on 3rd floor the floor smelled like every was smoking pot. The room was dirty. Poop in the toliet. I could write my name in dust in the room. Room looked as if it had not been painted for decades. The carpeting stunk of dirt and must. This place needs to be inspected by the city of Topeka. If it were. It would be closed and torn down. And shame on the reservation company and internet posting that represented this building as where someone might stay. I wouldn't let my dog sleep in this hotel. Shame on you and shame on Topeka allowing this travesty to continue.

The rooms are cozy and pretty spacious. The beds are comfy after a full day of driving. The grounds definitely need some TLC. The elevator is an experience, it also needs some love as well. The grinding sounds convinced us to take the stairs.

This was a wildly strange place to stay at. Not for the faint of heart - but the bed was clean and it was cheap. Had to call someone to get service at the front desk, and advertised breakfast did not exist. They turned off (?) our water in the morning of check out so no shower for me. We stayed in the 2bd suite for one night.

My main issue was with the bedding. The pillows were the size of a 14” laptop. Sheets were clean but old with some staining. Blanket was thin, top blanket was made from some awful, cheap fabric.

I tried the internet but stopped because my phone worked faster without it.

This is not a $157 per night room or hotel.

On a positive note, check-in was pleasant.

Tried a lot of chains in Topeka, and Super 8 all over the U.S. This spot is my favorite in both categories. It's not SuperUptoD8. Haha. But well-maintained for the most part. Everything works. Consistently very clean. Very comfortable. No smells or aromas to deal with. The crew provides solid hospitality. Topeka has hotels that are cheaper. This one is the best value.

Service is as best as you might expect from a young teenager working the front desk. Lobby area and hallways smelled of smoke. Room was clean but old and outdated, internet and phone reception in the room was terrible. Reserved my room online and they put an "add on" cost when you get to the hotel, asked both night and morning staff and they said it was for the safe if I use it. Never used it, never got that money back. There is an RV park behind the hotel where they would light off fireworks and grill, so it can get loud. Don't go here if you expect to use the pool, it is out of order. Breakfast bar for the morning was a joke, took one look at it and left. Overall, its a cheap hotel that has a bed and working shower. I'll be spending a little more money and taking my service elsewhere next time.

Check in was quick.

Hallways and parking lot grounds were clean. Located in a commercial area.

Room was clean, all appliances in the room worked. Microwave had 2 outlets built in. Ice machines on every floor. Had a pool. Hallways were clean.

Breakfast options were waffles, bananas, chocolate muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal. Milk, coffee, tea, orange/apple juice.

Clean rooms. Overall pleased with our stay. The halls to get to your room were a bit warm but not a deal breaker. Breakfast items were minimal. We left something in our room, discovered a few hours after we left, but was able to retrieve the item when we came back.
