Anchorage Hot Tub Hotels — Quick Guide

Quick reference for booking a Jacuzzi suite in Anchorage, Alaska

Best Time to Visit

  • Summer (June–August): Peak season. Anchorage draws the largest crowds of the year for wildlife viewing, hiking, glacier tours, and the Midnight Sun. The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race headquarters activity, tourism around Denali, and cruise ship passengers transiting through Ted Stevens Airport all drive strong demand. Book 5–7 weeks ahead for summer weekend stays, especially at Hampton Inn and Crowne Plaza Midtown.
  • Spring (March–May): The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race finishes in Anchorage in early March, creating a sharp demand spike. May brings warming temperatures and growing daylight. A good window for couples seeking Jacuzzi suites before peak summer rates arrive.
  • Fall (September–October): Shoulder season with dramatic fall color in the Chugach Mountains and strong aurora borealis viewing beginning in late September. Demand drops significantly after Labor Day, making this one of the best windows for value pricing at top-rated properties.
  • Winter (November–February): Aurora season draws winter travelers. Long nights make in-room hot tubs especially appealing after a day of skiing at Alyeska or aurora hunting. January and February offer the lowest rates of the year. Puffin Inn ($82/night) and Ramada ($81/night) are exceptional winter value picks.
Booking tip: Anchorage has a wider price spread than most comparable markets — from $81/night at Ramada to $389/night at Alaska Sundance Retreat. The strongest value cluster sits between $82 and $175/night, where several 9.0+ rated properties are available. Puffin Inn ($82, 9.4/10) is the standout value in the entire market. Summer rates can run 30–50% higher than winter at most properties.

    • Pricing: $82–$212/night
  • Downtown and Ship Creek: Historic core of Anchorage near the Alaska Railroad depot, Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, and the Anchorage Museum.

Jacuzzi Configurations in Anchorage

  • Bathroom-installed spa tub (most common in Anchorage): Jacuzzi integrated into the hotel bathroom. Found at Alaska Sundance Retreat B&B, Crowne Plaza Anchorage-Midtown, Fairfield Inn & Suites Midtown, Puffin Inn of Anchorage, Dimond Center Hotel, Alaska House of Jade B&B, Embassy Suites by Hilton Anchorage, and Baymont Inn & Suites Airport.
  • In-bedroom Jacuzzi: Tub placed in the room itself. Found at Hampton Inn Anchorage, Merrill Field Inn, Ramada by Wyndham Anchorage, Hilton Garden Inn Anchorage, and Wingate by Wyndham Anchorage Downtown/Ship Creek.

Important Booking Tips for Anchorage

  • Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race (early March): The Iditarod ceremonial start in Anchorage and the restart in Willow create a sharp demand spike in late February and early March. Book 5–6 weeks ahead if your stay overlaps with Iditarod weekend, particularly for downtown and midtown properties.
  • Summer rates run significantly higher: Most Anchorage hotels price 30–50% above their off-season rates in June, July, and August. If flexibility allows, late May and early September offer good conditions with lower pricing than peak summer.
  • Confirm your room type: Not all rooms in these hotels include a Jacuzzi. Look specifically for "Jacuzzi Suite," "Whirlpool Suite," or "Spa King" when booking to ensure you receive the right room at check-in.
  • Puffin Inn for exceptional value: At $82/night with a 9.4/10 guest rating, Puffin Inn of Anchorage is the single best price-to-rating Jacuzzi hotel in the Alaska market. It includes free breakfast, airport shuttle, and is pet-friendly — an outstanding package at the lowest top-rated price in the city.
  • Aurora viewing season (September–March): Anchorage sits within the aurora zone, and winter visits for northern lights viewing are increasingly popular. In-room hot tubs are especially appealing after cold aurora-hunting nights. Dimond Center Hotel's mountain-view rooms and the rural Alaska Sundance Retreat are particularly well-suited for aurora season stays.
  • Airport shuttle availability: Puffin Inn, Baymont Inn & Suites Airport, and Wingate by Wyndham Downtown/Ship Creek all offer airport shuttle service — important in Anchorage where Ted Stevens Airport is the primary entry point for most visitors to Alaska.

Spent two weeks here for work and had a great experience. The rooms were modern, clean, and cozy with kitchen and couch. Free drinks and finger foods M-W for social night and great way to meet others staying at location. Free laundry, gym, pool and hot tub. The staff was super friendly and made you feel like family. Also outstanding free breakfast🤗 Location is close to downtown but not very walkable to food etc during winter months. Also next to Walmart which brings in interesting crowd.

I am leaving this review specifically so the evening guest service/front desk staff member, John, (working on 01/15 in the evening at 6:00PM if there are multiple) gets the recognition he deserves.

I work for a local tour company and John went above and beyond to call us after hours to help Staybridge guests sort out confusion about a tour they thought they had booked with us. The guests were international and were struggling with a language barrier combined with international credit card woes and John stuck with them to provide exceptional guest service. If he can get recognition from this review he 100% deserves it!

I enjoyed my almost 3 month stay here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They actually try to get to know you and help you out as much as possible. I highly recommend this place. Plus, the breakfast and social hours are great and have some quality meals and snacks being served.

I've stayed here maybe 5 times so far in the past year. Every stay has been consistently great. The rooms have a ton of amenities and are VERY clean. The front desk staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint is regarding the TVs. They are locked down to only allow cable and you can't edit the picture settings to turn off the awful motion smoothing that oddly makes everything look like a soap opera. This isn't anywhere near a big enough deal to make me consider anything other than 5 stars.

This Staybridge Suites on Calais in ANC was able to accommodate a last-minute request for my boy and I to stay. Despite it being a busy Spring Break Iditarod week with many guests, the hotel was clean, stocked well with towels at the pool, and our night was relatively quiet (the fan in the room makes a nice white noise). The kitchenette was a bonus we didn’t need but I can imagine families enjoying that access for longer stays. The pool and hottub were great temperatures and the water pressure and hot shower in our room felt divine after a long swim! My son’s favorite part by far was the friendly staff member, John, at the front who remembered his name, wished him a happy birthday and engaged him with a smile and conversation any time they saw each other. It definitely made him feel special! Thanks!

I've stayed at dozens on IHG hotels over the years. This location has always been one of the best. I actually look forward to my work trips knowing I'll have a safe and comfortable place to retreat to after a long day. Rooms have always been very clean. Having a kitchen to cook meals is a great alternative to eating out. Staff are always friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay.

This IHG hotel really sets the standard on how all IHG properties should be.

Great bead and breakfast hotel in the middle of a nature reserve. The hosts are super friendly. The breakfast, self service, is great, everything is available except for sausage. The bathroom is equipped with everything. The way there is a dirt road.

My wife and I stayed in September 2021 - Jim and his partner were so welcoming and helpful! As a home base to explore Anchorage and the surrounding areas, this suited our needs perfectly. Plus the breakfast every day was appreciated, as were the morning eagle feedings!

This place is awesome tucked away on the upper hillside. Ranch type style living including horses. The very best part I've noticed from the outside is the lawn care is world class work. Those guys pay close attention to every little detail. Never stayed there but it is on my to do list.

I stayed here with my husband and 11 month old. It was a perfect place to stay after our 12 hour train ride from Fairbanks. The hosts were extremely friendly, welcoming, and even had a lunch sack for us to grab some breakfast to go when we left early to catch the train to Seward. Except for lunch, we stayed on the property for the day for our little one to rest. They have a beautiful home and property. Pet the horses and go for a nice walk. The shower was amazing. Great water pressure and also the option for a steamed shower was very nice.
Thank you for opening your home and welcoming us with open arms!!

My boyfriend and I had the nicest and most enjoyable time here. The owners and host were extremely nice and friendly. They took care of everything we needed and had many helpful suggestions and tips regarding sights to see and explore. Rich had a delicious breakfast prepared each morning and would cook just about anything you wanted. The house was invitingly comfortable and we felt like we were staying with family by the end of the week. Would definitely recommend staying here while in Anchorage!
