Estes Park is the eastern gateway town to Rocky Mountain National Park, and Visit Estes Park says couples choose it as a place to elope. Steamboat Springs is a ski town in the Yampa Valley of northwest Colorado, with more than 150 natural mineral springs and two hot springs on the Colorado Historic Hot Springs Loop. Ouray, in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado, calls itself the Switzerland of America, and Ouray County has five public and private hot springs. Buena Vista and Salida are in Chaffee County, in the upper Arkansas River valley below the Collegiate Peaks, and the county has more 14,000 foot peaks than any other in Colorado. Visit Estes Park says couples choose it as a place to elope, at the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, where Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous paved highway in North America. Yes. Reservations are required to access the Maroon Bells Scenic Area, by shuttle or by car, May through October. The road is usually closed between mid November and late May.
