Oakland Hot Tub Hotels — Quick Guide

Quick reference for booking a Jacuzzi suite in Oakland and the East Bay, California

Best Time to Visit

  • Fall (September–November): The best season across the East Bay. Oakland and Berkeley enjoy mild, dry weather well into November. The Livermore wine country harvest in September and October is a major draw for the Tri-Valley corridor — Purple Orchid Wine Country Spa and Best Western Vineyard Inn see peak demand through October. Book 4–6 weeks ahead for fall harvest weekends in Livermore.
  • Spring (March–May): Strong demand around UC Berkeley graduation in May and East Bay outdoor events. The Livermore Valley Wine Country Festival in May is a popular draw. A comfortable time for couples seeking a Jacuzzi suite in the Tri-Valley before summer heat arrives.
  • Summer (June–August): Warm and dry across the inland East Bay. Oakland waterfront events, A's and Warriors seasons, and Bay Area tourism keep steady demand. Coastal fog moderates temperatures in Berkeley and Oakland — making summer more pleasant here than in the inland valleys.
  • Winter (December–February): Quietest season with the best pricing. January and February offer the lowest rates at most East Bay properties. Business travel to Oakland and Berkeley remains steady year-round, but leisure demand drops significantly — ideal for a budget Jacuzzi stay at Executive Inn or Holiday Inn Express Castro Valley.
Booking tip: The Oakland/East Bay Jacuzzi market spans from $66/night in Hayward to $348/night at The Purple Orchid in Livermore. The Tri-Valley wine country corridor (Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin) has the highest concentration of top-rated romantic properties. The Purple Orchid ($348, 9.8/10) and The Rose Hotel ($298, 9.4/10) are the standout romantic picks. For value, Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward ($70, 7.2/10) and La Quinta Dublin-Pleasanton ($89, 8.4/10) offer the best budget-to-rating ratios in the market.

Important Booking Tips for Oakland and East Bay

  • Livermore wine country harvest season (September–October): The Livermore Valley wine country harvest draws strong weekend demand to the Tri-Valley corridor in September and October. The Purple Orchid and Best Western Vineyard Inn are the top Jacuzzi picks in the area — book 4–6 weeks ahead for fall harvest weekends.

Ideal for anniversaries and special occasion stays.
  • Best budget options: Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward ($70/night) is the most affordable Jacuzzi hotel in the market with a reasonable guest rating. La Quinta Dublin-Pleasanton ($89/night, 8.4/10) offers the best combination of low price and strong guest score among full-service properties.
  • Berkeley for BART connectivity: Hotel Shattuck Plaza and Holiday Inn Express Berkeley are both within walking distance of BART stations — making them ideal for travelers who want to explore San Francisco without driving. Both offer Jacuzzi suites in downtown Berkeley with easy cross-bay transit access.
  • Oakland Airport proximity: Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward, Fairfield Inn Hayward, and Holiday Inn Express Castro Valley are all within 8 miles of Oakland International Airport — practical choices for travelers wanting a Jacuzzi suite with convenient airport access at competitive East Bay prices.

Best Western Plus Bayside was such a pleasant surprise. The location is on the water with a nice walking path to take a stroll, the sister hotel has a bar with a very nice bar tender, the room is spacious with a deep tub and a balcony over looking the water. It was such a a nice stay for such a reasonable price. I'll definitely stay here again!

Do not stay here. The staff member that assisted us on 11/18/2023 is a criminal. We checked into our room around 2:30 pm. My friend told the receptionist that we would be leaving our stuff there and returning around 9 pm. He changed our room from the middle of the building to the far end of the hotel near the far end of the building building a stairwell at the end of the hallway. He knew there are no cameras in that area. He conspired with his criminal associates to burglarize our room. When we returned to find our belongings missing we headed for the front desk. After reporting the burglary to staff and returning to our room we had been burglarized again. Within 10 minutes. We had returned to be burglarized. I assume it was a scam. Once you return and find your stuff missing they would wait until you return and drop off more belongings and go report the first crime and they would steal again. Lucky we did not bring any additional stuff to the room. When we returned to our room after reporting the first theft more of our belongings were gone. Do not stay here. Do not stay in Oakland. The night staff seemed concerned but were of no real assistance. The criminal staff member allowed someone to access our room. Since no cameras were near the edge of the hotel room I believe this was an inside job. Do not stay here. Do. Or stay in Oakland.

Edit: I have not received anything in my inbox from the others account.

It was a beautiful place to go and stay there before all the over bearing decor. It doesn't be long to Berkeley, it is a ALL on Oakland. Put it back to the way it looked after restoration between 1971 and when you took it over. It was always filled, lots of Great entertainment and super food and supurb relaxation. Not overpriced!

My stay at The Claremont was superb. The property is beautiful and has such an elegant and classic look and feel to it. The bathtub in the room was lovely, and I appreciated so much how they accommodated my request for one. The club was perfect, and the personnel were kind. One of the best hotels I've had the pleasure to stay in.

Poor service by all the bellman and very poor communication led to me being late for my flight. The room’s definitely need upgraded. The hotel does smell bad. What a shame for such a beautiful venue. I was extremely disappointed and would never book again. I do appreciate having a roof over my head and a place to sleep. By the way the bathroom roof did leak.

I recently attended an event at the Claremont Club & Spa - A Fairmont Hotel, and I want to share my dining experience. The meal began with the Artisan California lettuces salad, which was a delightful mix of fresh, crisp vegetables, spiced walnuts, pickled shallot, and a champagne vinaigrette dressing. It set the tone for what turned out to be a wonderful evening.

For the main course, we were served rotisserie chicken, and I must say, it was truly exceptional. The flavor was outstanding, and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. It's not often you find such a well-executed chicken dish at an event like this.

And let's not forget the dessert – the carrot cake. It was a sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Moist, flavorful, and beautifully presented, it was the perfect way to conclude the dining experience.

The service throughout the evening was impeccable. The servers were attentive, coming to each table to refill water or wine promptly. Their attention to detail added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.

All in all, I had a truly great dining experience at the Claremont Club & Spa. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the beautiful setting all contributed to a memorable evening.
