Stockton Hot Tub Hotels: Quick Guide

Quick reference for booking a Jacuzzi suite in Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, Lathrop, and the surrounding San Joaquin Valley, California

Best Time to Visit

  • Fall (September–November): The best season for wine country visits in Lodi, with harvest in full swing and the most active tasting room schedules. Temperatures drop from summer extremes to the 70s and 80s, making outdoor activities comfortable. The Lodi Wine and Chocolate Weekend (typically mid-February) and ZinFest Wine Festival (May) are the biggest wine events, but fall harvest weekends also drive strong demand at Lodi properties.
  • Spring (March–May): Mild temperatures and blooming agricultural landscapes. ZinFest Wine Festival in May fills Lodi hotels. Good availability at most properties through March and April, with pricing moderate. A strong season for wine tasting and exploring the Central Valley.
  • Summer (June–August): Extremely hot, with temperatures often exceeding 100°F. The least attractive season for leisure visitors, though the region remains an active agricultural hub. In-room Jacuzzis become a practical comfort amenity. Hotels primarily serve business travelers and road trippers passing through the Central Valley between the Bay Area and Yosemite or the Sierra foothills.
  • Winter (December–February): Cool and occasionally foggy, with tule fog a well-known Central Valley phenomenon that can reduce visibility dramatically. The Lodi Wine and Chocolate Weekend (mid-February) is the biggest winter event, filling wine country hotels. Outside of that weekend, winter offers the lowest pricing of the year and excellent availability.
Booking tip: Lodi is one of California's most important wine regions, specializing in old-vine Zinfandel and increasingly recognized for Mediterranean varietals. If wine tasting is the purpose of your visit, stay in Lodi rather than Stockton or Manteca. Wine and Roses Hotel is the standout property for wine country visitors, but The Cottages on Armstrong and the Days Inn Lodi also provide convenient access to tasting rooms along the Lodi Wine Trail.

Important Booking Tips for the Stockton

  • Confirm the exact room type: Jacuzzi and hot tub rooms are specific upgrade categories at most hotels in this region. Look for "Jacuzzi Suite," "Whirlpool Room," "Spa King," or "Hot Tub Room" when booking. At Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and La Quinta properties, not every room includes a private tub.
  • Lodi wine country events: ZinFest Wine Festival (May) and the Lodi Wine and Chocolate Weekend (mid-February) are the two biggest hotel demand drivers in the Lodi area. Wine and Roses Hotel and The Cottages on Armstrong fill quickly for these events. Book 4–8 weeks ahead if your trip overlaps.
  • Yosemite gateway positioning: Manteca is about 91 miles from Yosemite National Park, making it a practical overnight base for travelers heading to the park from the Bay Area or Sacramento. Baymont by Wyndham Manteca and Hampton Inn Manteca are both well-positioned for this use case. Factor in 2 to 2.5 hours of driving time to Yosemite Valley.
  • Tule fog winter hazard: The Central Valley is known for dense tule fog in winter months (November through February), which can reduce highway visibility to near zero. If driving through the region in winter, check Caltrans road conditions before departure and allow extra travel time.
  • Pet-friendly picks: Motel 6 Lodi, Holiday Inn Express Lathrop, Comfort Inn Lathrop, Days Inn Lathrop, Hampton Inn Manteca, Best Western Plus Executive Inn Manteca, Wine and Roses Hotel, La Quinta Manteca Ripon, Red Roof Inn Stockton, and The Cottages on Armstrong all accept pets. Confirm fees and restrictions before booking.
  • Free breakfast included: Days Inn and Suites Lodi, Comfort Inn and Suites Galt/Lodi North, Holiday Inn Express Lathrop, Comfort Inn Lathrop, Days Inn Lathrop, Hampton Inn Manteca, Best Western Plus Executive Inn Manteca, Wine and Roses Hotel, La Quinta Manteca Ripon, and Baymont by Wyndham Manteca all include free breakfast. Particularly valuable in a region where roadside dining options can be limited.

When we booked a one night stay while traveling North through California, our confirmation came via email stating our booking is confirmed for 22 days from now. This was a mistake so we just canceled the booking and figured we'd straighten it out when we got to the front desk. The front desk said they could not do anything because it was canceled and that we would have to pay a cancellation fee for the full amount because of the rate code we received. Even though we were right there in front of them paying for the same night. The girl gave me the number for customer relations and of course it was impossible to get through to an actual person. So as I am writing this, we are still working on trying to straighten out this cancellation fee of 100%.

Update: upon leaving, in the morning, I was approached by a wonderful manager named "Maria", Maria was fantastic and notified us that she had rectified our issue and apologized that the front desk was not authorized to do this type of thing. (Dear corporate headquarters), please allow your front desk people to do simple things when it comes to customer service. Our issue should not be a manager level event and while I have you, make your online or over the phone customer service better because right now it sucks. Trust in your people, people like Maria who was very wonderful to deal with.

We stayed at this hotel while in the area for a family event. The two-night stay was comfortable and met all of our needs. I would recommend that you bring your charging block because there were none in the room. That was the only issue we had during our stay. Our room was spotless and they even had full bottles of Dove soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion for guest use in the bathroom. That was a very nice surprise.
While there we made use of both the pool and gym and found them to be clean and well maintained. We would like to thank Guadalupe for the wonderful food and service in the dining room. There were plenty of tasty options to choose from. Thank you to the maids who took very good care of our needs. We highly recommend this hotel and will return.

I stayed here because my children were playing in a soccer tournament nearby. First off the walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbor is saying. I had a group of people next door that basically partied all night and did not let us sleep. I called the front desk multiple times with no answer until finally someone picked up the phone and said they would call the room for a noise complaint. That did not do anything because they kept being loud only this time moved the party outside as well in front of my room door. I called the front office again because they were vaping and it was coming into my room. Please don’t stay here if you want a good night sleep. Also the room was dirty. I wish I could get my money back because this has been the worst place I’ve ever stayed at.

Very nice get away the only thing was the neighbors they were quite loud all the night til morning but the room was nice comfortable updated an I loved it will be booking here again
Easy check in process. Staff nice. Rooms under cleaned. Burn marks all over. Crack house type location. Spent the whole night listening to a party 2 doors down and a bum who smoked cigs outside our door loudly arguing with his personal demons. Do not recommend for families. Will not return.

Me, my husband and our two daughters stayed here six nights. Let's start with the bad. The bed cover had what looked like a cigarette burn. The floor was also dirty, not like visible dirt but as if they swept and didn't mop. My daughter took her shoes off first thing and within an hour her socks were black. Other than that our stay was good. The housekeepers were nice and pleasant. The environment was pretty chill. It had nice closet space and a big dresser.

Honestly, read the reviews and everything looked alright. Staff was even nice at check in.
However, after asking for a few things it seemed like I was annoying the girl at the
front. Kids said the same thing when they went down. Now mind you, I know the place is cheap and it’s not a five star hotel but what follows should still never happen. We go to get the kids in bed, and there is blood on the sheets. When I called down to let them know, I was told I can come down and get the sheets for the bed and remake it myself (was shocked by that) So I get the sheets, go to change the sheets and notice that there is a massive yellow spot on the mattress protector. Now I go down to the office and show the pictures to the agent at front. She says she has to call her manager to see if I can be moved. He answers and says that he will not move us. All the while, the front agent is implying that we made the messes by saying, “they’ve been here for a few hours”over and over. Absolute worst experience ever at a hotel. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Ever. In fact, I would implore you to avoid it. If you happen to not mind that stuff, which you should, it is cheap and close to great wolf lodge. Photos are with the comment, I will also be taking pictures of the room to make sure no backlash will be had from this very honest review.
