Amazing hotel and staff! We were there for a wedding and our van drivers Mike & Brian, were exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. They were great to talk to and made our 30 min drives each day go by so fast. They was definitely the stars of the show! Thank you again Best Western!
The rooms and breakfast are nice, but the standoffish attitude by the front desk manager Ebony really ruins the experience. Condescending and impatient, even when just asking for a few toiletry items. Went from excited to be there to disgruntled and disappointed. Won't be returning.
My dog Princess and I stayed at this Best Western January 19, 2025. The hotel and accommodations was better than expected, and offered exceptional value for the price. The overall hotel building and individual rooms were very clean and well kept. The parking lots were generally well-lit, and well kept, with easy access to the hotel. Breakfast was pleasant and plentiful, and included a good range of buffet style offerings, such as eggs, waffles, cereals, sausage, bacon, yogurts, breads / buns / bagels, and cold and hot drinks as part of the price. Breakfast also included a dedicated staff member who prepared hand crafted omelets, bacon / sausage and eggs on request. He was friendly, humorous and engaging, and prepared a great omelet. The hotel staff as a whole, were friendly, approachable ,knowledgeable, and accommodating / helpful. Hotel was pet-friendly, with many pets present. In summary, I highly recommend this Best Western, and would definitely stay again. Andrew
White powder on sink, fridge dirty, and bathroom smelled like mildew. The bottom of tub was dirty. Sliding doors to closet don’t move. Bed is hard. I honestly don’t know how this place isn’t rated a 2 or 2.5. Not as nice as reviews say.
The walls have mismatched paint colors, like they tried to touch up the paint but it didn’t match at all. The room smelled of paint fumes. The spa was filled with cold dirty water. The pillow cases were stained. The manager took a couple stained ones (what looked like droplets of blood stains) away and dropped off new bedding for us to make the beds again. I did not pay all that money to have to make the beds! She excused all the black marks on all of the linens as being the gasket on the dried, so replace the drier!
Breakfast was fantasy though and the bed was comfortable.
I will begin by saying that I did not personally stay in a room at this hotel. However, I have spent multiple weeks in the conference rooms for the past 2 months for work-related reasons (full 8-hour shifts). Firstly, I would like to say that some of the staff- seemingly housekeeping and those setting up events- were very kind. However, many others were... well, not. I would like to mention that I have been inside a few of the rooms and they seemed very dated and unpleasant. The breakfast bar does have a make-your-own omelet station, which most folks seemed to like. I would especially like to point out that the same stale cereal has been in the exact same spot for 3 or more weeks. Out of my own curiosity, I've moved things around to see if anyone comes in to tidy up, and they never once have. I have also noticed the same stains on the conference room white tablecloths that have not been changed in almost 8 weeks. The conference room we were in, Edgewood, might as well have been someone's basement. There was little lighting and no windows, as those seemed to be reserved for the bigger and more "important" parties (think University of Tennessee football players). I do not know if this is fully to blame on the hotel, but this is my stance nonetheless. I don't think its ever appropriate to judge clientele, but I do think rules were never enforced. At times there were dogs running around the lobby and children in only diapers and bare feet. The lack of decorum and any ambiance in this establishment was honestly very disappointing. Maybe the "nicer" rooms were a different story, which I am unaware of. All in all, I wouldn't let this charming "Mediterranean" aesthetic pictures on the website fool you into thinking this is anything but a dirty, unwelcoming, and run-of-the-mill hotel. Thanks for reading.
This hotel was great, very clean, organized. Everyone was attentive and very professional. If I had more stars I would give them. They deserve it, there was always someone there to help. Their location is also phenomenal, very convenient. Will definitely stay again.
I live not far from Keaton Beach and the path Idalia took, and I had to evacuate inland. Very thankful for having the money to get a hotel and stay in comfort for a few days. I'm praying for all of those who stayed for whatever reason (health, money, etc) and also for those who have lost so much. My stay at Gateway Grand has been exceptional and the service is second to none! I appreciate folks like Andrea and Haley at the front desk, Tina in the breakfast buffet, Rob from the Gator's Den, and Candy in housekeeping for their kindness and helpfulness. There are others I did not get their names. Thanks so much! The only problem I have had is little tiny ants in the room trying to share my goodies, but I know when I mention it, the staff will take care of it asap.
Beautiful hotel with old world sophisticated charm. We got a suite with a jacuzzi tub. The room was nice and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was no big deal but we had to ask for extra towels twice and extra pillows as there were none in the closet. No extra towels or pillows or even an extra blanket, this is usually standard in most hotels and you definitely expect it when paying for a suite for the night. It was nice to have a hot breakfast on site, cook to make a custom omelette. Small detail but there was only one type of sausage to choose from and it would have been nice to have maybe hard boiled eggs and or some ham or bacon. So we gave the breakfast only 2 stars.
The hallway smelled like a urinal and the room was musty and had a bengay odor. The shower was a disabled friendly bathroom and so antiquated for anyone to use. The bathroom wand didn't stay put and was impossible to use as a shower. The stall was only user friendly if you sat on the bench. It has to be 20+ years old in design. I know there are more updated approaches to "accessibility" than this.
During our stay the staff was extremely pleasant and humorous. My car battery died and they went above and beyond to help us out BIG TIME. Now that's GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thank You guys for making our stay great.
As an opposing fan visiting for the game the Florida fans were ruthless but the staff at this hotel were the one exception. So friendly and welcoming to us. The shuttle service they offer to and from the game is grade A. Can’t say enough nice things about the game day environment they’ve created at this location. Thank you guys for a great stay and hospitality!
DEFINITELY WILL be staying here again and it is ALL because of Miss Shelly. She went above and beyond to help us because I accidentally left my keys in the car and she went out of her way to help us and wait until help was able to come get the car keys out. She was SUPER nice and a great person. Her help DEFINITELY turned a bad situation into a GREAT day. Miss Shelly and ALL of the other staff that were all willing to help are AMAZING. You definitely have to stay here if you come to Gainesville and thank the people that work here for being AWESOME!!
Well, where do I start. I used my reward points to secure a room for the birth of my grand daughter. I was greater by a very nice and polite woman behind the counter. She was great, but that's where the good stops. I was given a room on the third floor, and when I exited the elevator, it was like a snoop dog concert. The smell of weed was very strong. I'm no prude, but this was a little over board. It was just as bad in the room. The toilet was so low to the ground, the shower was very dirty. The bed was clean and comfortable. The chair and the desk were both unsteady. And then the air conditioner sounded like a tractor trying to start, and continued through the night. Made it very hard to sleep. I would not stay here again. I mentioned it to the man at the desk in the morning, and he said he could of taken some off the room but I used my rewards. I wish I would have just paid for a better room. The service was good, but the overall experience was very poor.
During our stay, we accidentally left our bag in the common area, but Barbara noticed and contacted us after we checked out the hotel. She went out of her way to ensure that our belongings were returned to us, and her attention to detail was truly remarkable. This act of kindness made our trip so much easier and stress-free, especially with a young child in tow. I am so grateful to Barbara and the staff at the Comfort Inn for making our stay unforgettable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service and hospitality."
