We were on the second floor in 241 the TV did not work so we got a different room room 330 and the hotel worker never turn in the key from 241 and the third floor it's smelled like weed there's people running up and down the hall at 2:00am in the morning and then the guy at the front desk when I was going to check out he was arguing with me saying that my friend turned in the key to 241 and nobody was in room 330 and they were trying to charge us for two rooms. And the hot tub was not hot it was lukewarm it was not that hot at all the breakfast Pancake Mix was watery it didn't taste good the apples taste light they're a bad for rotten and then the manager didn't apologize he just gave me some free apple juice like that's going to solve the problem. This was on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and the staff called in and the manager was arguing on the phone with the worker before he booked a room for us. And the pool hallway smells like moldy carpet and the bathtub in the room was not clean I had a ring around the bathtub.
Room looked and smelled dirty.. I couldn't put my finger on the smell, it just didn't smell clean. One of the stairwells that I walked up had no light on at all on the third floor, so it was not very safe feeling. The room was next to a stairwell so everytime someone came or went, the door slammed waking me up. Would seem like you would install something on the doors, so they don't slam. So I barely slept.... The furniture was pretty nasty, to the point where I didn't want to sit on the desk chair to do some work, or thr chair, even the couch looked dirty. I couldn't even connect to the Wifi, since the password wasn't listed anywhere. The linens on the bed seemed clean, but the mattress felt like it was a cheap 10 year old mattress. Front desk staff was polite enough, but the room was a major reason that I will not stay at this location again.
Recently booked two nights. When I arrived the gentleman at the counter, though very nice and polite, had a heavy accent that made him difficult to understand. Moving to the only elevator for the building (at least on the side that our room was on) the elevator shook and squealed as though it hadnt been maintained in years. The hallway walls looked like someone took a box cutter to them and cut holes and strips into the wall. Our room (248) had a few issues. First off the walls are paper thin and you can hear every noise in the building. The bed squeaked with the smallest movement (enough to keep my partner awake). The bathroom had issues as well, the sink had extremely low water pressure, the shower leaked from both the temperature control nob and from the shower head so it made a big mess. The counter was sagging and falling apart. Outside the room was a door that led to a stairwell going outside. The outside door (which is supposed to be unlocked with a room key) will not close completely and gives anybody access to the hotel floors (which is a HUGE safety concern). I left for the day to go sightseeing and run errands and when I returned my door key had been deactivated. I returned to the lobby to get my door key fixed and there was a different gentleman who, while easily more understandable than the other gentleman, still had a very heavy accent. I ended up leaving early due to the safety concerns. I wont be returning.
I stayed here for a work trip, my schedule changed and I was asked to head to another city. I asked to change my reservation, since I needed to leave a day early and the guy working the counter told me he couldn't refund me, despite me trying to check out before the reservation for that day started. So I spent over $100 for a night at a hotel I didn't even stay at.
The rooms were kinda gross, there was mildew/mold in the showers.. the bedding was uncomfortable and the ice machines clearly had not been clean, the ice came out with black stuff on it.
Disappointing. We had stayed at this location several times in the past and had been very satisfied. This stay will be our last. In fact we had booked two nights and I ended up cancelling the second night and booked a room elsewhere. The carpets are dirty and the furniture is worn out. The walls need to be painted. There were missing tiles in the bathroom. The entire hotel smelled bad. We used to enjoy a good breakfast at this location, but now the breakfast was meager at best. It’s like the management has just stopped caring. As I said before, we won’t be back.
If you need a pet room...plan on staying in a room that smells very strongly of dog urine and overpowering perfume that they are using to cover up. In addition to the smell, the room was dirty and run down. Stay anywhere but here.
Sam is the best host. Always professional and friendly. He is a real gem. He is one of a kind. He works 16 hours daily and is always positive. Alvea is breakfast monitor. Super at her job. We need ESPN. Thank you , Tom
I thought the rooms were very clean and unique, the pillows were kinda hard on my neck which caused only 2 hours of sleep that night. The bathroom was very clean and I thought it was very sanitary. I git out of the shower in my room and I felt very clean and refreshed, so overall I recommend this place to people who need a place to stay for whatever you may be doing. Overall this is just a great hotel, and I had a great experience the day I stayed there. I recommend this absolutely.
Location was the only thing good about this place. The room was not very clean, with many stains on the carpet and the chair. I had the kids walk around in socks because the carpet was so bad. There were also probably 40 gnats flying around the room. We ran around swatting most of them. Still, a very dingy dirty room. The front desk staff were rude, unhospitable, and when we talked with them, it's as if we were interrupting them. Hairdryer in room didn't work and when asked for a different one, we were told they would check, but didn't think they had anymore available. What? In the entire hotel, every room was filled? Nope! After waiting 20 minutes with kids and wet hair, I walked down to the front desk and the front desk staff was talking with two housekeeping staff. I wasn’t even acknowledged when I got to the desk. After a minute, I interrupted and asked if she had found a hairdryer. She became quite rude, almost yelling, and said that she hasn’t had time to look as she’s been very busy with other things. One of the housekeeping staff said she would check one of the rooms. She didn't find anything. I'm still waiting for the front desk staff to help me. Now it's been 40 minutes since I first called, and still no dryer. After about another 10 minutes, the front desk staff emerged from the back room with a brand new hair dryer. She could have done that in the first 20 minutes. I mentioned that I wasn't getting good customer service. She got very defensive and started yelling that she was not being rude. I was kind of in shock at her reaction. I just walked away, hoping that I didn't have to see her again. Seriously worst stay in a Lansing hotel. And it wasn't even a decent rate. I should have stayed at another hotel in the area. I won't make that mistake again. When I called corporate, all they would do was give me 2000 points, and say that they would investigate the matter, but that I wouldn't hear anything from them.
It's a 3-star hotel. That's what it felt like. Except for the service. The staff was excellent, and everyone was as nice as could be, from the front desk to the maids, to the kitchen staff. Thank you.
The room. We had a king bedroom on the first floor.
This is a dog friendly hotel, and all the guests with dogs must be given rooms on the first floor. There were lots of people with dogs, and we could hear some barking and whining.
The carpet in our room was damp, and there was a damp, moldy smell in the room that they tried to mask with some kind of febreeze-like chemical. After leaving my clothes hanging in the closet for the night, they smelled moldy in the morning, though it didn't linger after I left the room. Thankfully, our room had no cigarette smell, though our friends on the same floor said they had issues with it.
The smell was the worst part of the stay.
A few more minor issues:
1. There was a hole on the ceiling where paint had chipped off. I kept seeing it from the corner of my eyes and jumping, thinking it was a bug crawling on the ceiling.
2. The toilet needs more pressure. I had to flush at least 3 times after peeing. Imagine how many times after pooping...
3. The phone in our room had a wrong room number and didn't work. There was no ringtone, so when I tried to get the front desk, I couldn't and ended up having to walk out there.
Now the good:
1. location is awesome. Right around the corner from Starbucks, and across the street from this amazing farm market with everything you can imagine.
2. pillow was so comfortable
3. loved the looooong vanity in the bathroom.
4. bow-tie toilet paper lol. Reminded me of a cruise....
Our reasons for going to the Comfort Inn were far from usual. Our water heater had broken down at home and after a couple days without showers we decided to go to the hotel for just that purpose. When we book the room we told them that's what we were doing, there was no issue/judgment, we felt fully welcome. Our party of nine rotated on through and, to our great surprise, it was actually an outstanding shower! No fancy equipment, not even a handheld secondary shower head but it was far above average pressure and even a wider stream than most. So, though I cannot say a darn thing about most of their services, I can say the room seem very nice, the TV was large and quite good, in the shower was quite excellent.
I want to start by recognizing the staff and their wonderful hospitality. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. They always took the time to greet us and asked how our stay was going. We also enjoyed the breakfast in the mornings! We were super bummed the hot tub was not in service during our weekend stay and our room was just 'ok'
All staff that we encountered wee friendly, and the free hot breakfast was wonderful. We booked this hotel because of the hot tub, amd were quite disappointed to find it closed for maintenance, apparently it had been closed for 2 mos. We also found the pool room to be quite cold.
I dont recommend this place for the following reasons: No bodywash No chips or vending machine to buy I asked for sanitizer wipes or spray for gym twice and no action taken. Place is dusty Stairways are never cleaned, you see spider webs and bugs and yes these are indoor carpet stairs. Employees are not friendly.
I will not be visiting this place going forward! Great location though but we have more hotels to choose from 😉.
Check in was fast and easy. When I checked in last Monday evening a really nice lady, Gail I believe her name was, was working she told me about the wonderful farmers market down the street so I went to stop and take a look and on my way back she hand plates and napkins waiting for me so I could enjoy my food in my room. Very nice service the whole trip.
We had never used Fido before and they gave us to Hampton Inn. We weren’t sure what to expect and it was wonderful. The service was amazing the woman, and at the front desk and the college student after she left were both helpful and kind. Funny greeted us every time we came in. Pool was clean hot tub. Wonderful rooms great breakfast. The next morning was unbelievable. We couldn’t believe we are getting that much. The location was perfect. I can’t say enough about this. This is a great hotel to stay in.
Comfortable bed and great shower. These are the most important to me. Well done. Very convenient off the highway. Some of the furniture was a bit worn, otherwise fine. Many plugs near bedside - always a plus.
Great location. Room 128 king suite. Room was in need of cleaning, dirty, cobwebs on the ceiling and on the wall. Hair in tub,rug-carpet ripped and in major need if cleaning. Definitely keep driving. Good news was the room was comped by the management.
There was a miscommunication on what room we would be getting. Niki, the manager took care of the issue right away and was very accommodating for my family and made the situation right! Excellent communication throughout the whole process! Connor at the front desk was also very nice and great with the kids when we checked in! The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and amenities!
Nice decent hotel, was in area for son's baseball tournament. Used self check in that was nice and they allowed pets. Breakfast was to me standard complimentary breakfast. Would stay again.
Great hotel. Clean. Breakfast was a hot breakfast with the usual eggs, meat, breads, juice. Area and parking lot appear safe, next to police station. Staff super friendly. Has pool, hot tub, gym, and laundry access. Next door is a couple restaurants and coffee. Good location in West Lansing.
Could not be happier with our stay. Had a big group and lots of kids. Everyone was so gracious. Patrick went out of his way to organize everything and even cleaned our room and switched sheets when needed. Gail was amazing in the evenings - so accommodating and sweet to the kids. Next door is an amazing market with a beer garden and great pizza and Thai food. Highly recommend this Hampton Inn!

Pros: - Check in staff was very welcoming. She was a colorful energetic person. - room looked overall good and well organized - bed was big and comfy. - prime locations to lots of restaurants - interior decor of hotel was vibrant and modern - option to tip housekeeping through scanning bar code - it has a gym! It was clean with cardio machines and free weights - hallways looked nice. Could use air freshener - 24/7 teas and coffee at lobby
Cons - check out staff was not friendly. The staff night before said we could have late check out “no problem”. No fee was mentioned. When I asked morning Saturday staff she said “it would be extra charge”. ?!?! - room closet was very dirty. Hair and dust floating around. Hidden areas had dirt (under ottoman) - ottoman leather old and torn apart (see pic) - breakfast was limited and not refilled during the Thu -sat stay we had. Coffee was empty, and staff working the breakfast area directed people to the lobby coffee. - hot tub was greenish and did not smell good - room sink would not drain smoothly
