The stay at Stoney Creek was both relaxing and romantic. We reserved a whirlpool suite, and even tho the room we wanted was accidentally double booked, they were able to give us an acceptable substitute.
We had a couple small issues and they overly compensated by giving us free drinks passes for the hotel bar.
The bartender was so kind, so friendly and so helpful! The rooms were clean and stocked with Bath and Body Works Eucalyptus Spearmint soaps and lotion 😍
Breakfast was busy, but hot and ready! Would recommend for a great weekend away. #StoneyCreek #StoneyCreekHotel #DesMoines

The staff at the Johnston, IA location are top notch, especially Brittany and Jaime at the front desk! The catering staff was excellent as well. Great food and great service. The beds were comfy and all the little seating areas around the hotel were a nice touch. The pool and hot tub were warm and fun!
First night was promising. the room was nicely cleaned, and i was able to hook up my electronics and such without issue. problems started to occur second night and so on, though. The second night i asked room services if i could get some toilet paper and towels (we had 1/4 of a roll when we first got the room, and only two towels.) after two hours, nothing came. i had to call three more times before they came! and i only got two towels besides the five requested. then, on the third night, i asked if they could clean my room as i was going to be leaving for awhile. i came back to find only our trash cans emptied, and the room NOT cleaned. this was rather upsetting. on the fourth night, we asked to have the room cleaned once more, and guess what? nothing. unenjoyable stay, but hey. the pool was pretty cool. but they kicked us out at 10.

On my first trip to Iowa, the love of my life took me here. It was in this very hotel where we made a lot of good memories. I'm confident that if you're with your partner: you'll leave feeling happy and relaxed.

The coffee is amazing, the atmosphere feels like home, and the rooms are heavenly. The hot water here is extremely good, especially from the hot tub.

I hope to come back here with my love in the future.

We had a fabulous stay! Check-in and check-out were seamless, the ladies are wonderful and very friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious and nice! We really liked the rustic log cabin hunter feel. We enjoyed breakfast, lots of options, and really liked that it went until 10 a.m. Would absolutely visit again!

Had this a dead centipede waiting under the covers for me. The room I'm in is about as far from the entrance as you can get so maybe it doesn't get used much. Wow is it dirty. The floors are unclean. Under the bed is particularly gross. If the rooms were properly cleaned, it would be alright I suppose, but mine is not. I don't often leave reviews but I'm particularly grossed out by this room.

An incredible gem hidden away in some parking lots.
Did not expect to find some rather massive (four story!) Lodge hotel in an AMC parking lot
Very clean, AMAZINGLY kind staff, great rooms.
Surprising amount of forest space tucked away behind the hotel makes it a very nice location after all.
An absolute treat in the middle of the city, definitely worth the visit.

The ladies at the front desk were amazing and very friendly. The rooms were clean and very spacious. We really enjoyed the log cabin rustic feel. A nice change from your basic hotel. They are pet friendly, which is a plus. The bar opens at 4pm and serves pizza and finger foods, which are delicious. Breakfast was great with many options available. Would definitely visit again
Really disappointed in our most recent stay. We have stayed at other locations that were much better taken care of. The pool here was actually slimy, had questionable growth in multiple places and was crumbling in several spots. The first night we were there I requested an extra sheet and pillow for my little one who likes to curl up on the chair (the chair is made of a rough material, not to mention who knows when it was cleaned last). The front desk guy asked me why I needed them when I already had the four that came on the bed. He then said he would have to call his manager and check. The third floor felt like the heat was blasting, especially in the bathroom. Maybe there was a malfunction, I couldn’t get a straight answer. We were pretty miserable. We did ask the second night to change rooms and the second floor felt so much better. Thankfully there was a different person at the front counter that night who was extremely helpful, so that was appreciated, and the reason for any stars received.

Booked this place on a whim, but turned out to be one of the nicest lodge looking places we ever stayed at. We came with our kids and they had a blast swimming in the pool. The pool looked so whimsical and the indoor looks like your swimming somewhere in the wilderness. The neat feature was that it goes outside and you can swim outdoor too. Loved the hot tubas well! Our room was absolutely HUGE, we had a king sized bed and a bunk tha6 was a full with a twin on top plus a fold out couch! As a family of 6, we were super comfortable there. It was very spacious!!! Absolutely beautiful place to stay if you love the lodge feeling, we were pleasantly surprised! Will be back!

Subject: Review of Hotel Employee Conduct

Dear Manager,

I am writing to bring to your attention an unsatisfactory experience I had with one of your employees at your hotel. While attempting to contact your hotel, I encountered a staff member named Spencer, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was placed on hold for at least 20 minutes, several times, without being given a chance to speak at all. Additionally, Spencer hung up the phone on me, which I found to be very disrespectful to me as a guest.

I understand that managing a hotel can be a demanding task, and you may have had other guests to attend to, but as a customer, I believe that respect and multitasking are essential qualities that any hotel employee should possess. However, I regret to inform you that this was not the case with Spencer. His conduct was unprofessional and unacceptable.

Besides, Spencer called me back and demanded to know my name, saying that he had my number. As a guest, this behavior not only felt threatening but also left me feeling uncomfortable and disgruntled. I would like to understand if this was a veiled threat from Spencer?

In light of my experience, I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter urgently and provide appropriate action to ensure that this type of behavior does not repeat itself in the future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

We had a block of rooms for a wedding this last weekend and I cannot say enough good things about them. The staff was fantastic. John helped us out so much and I would tell everyone to stay here. The kids loved the pool and we had a suite that people could come and join us nightly to relax. Thank you so much for helping us with our perfect weekend.
The hotel itself was pretty cute - log cabin themed everything. However, when trying to check in we waited about 10 minutes or so for anyone to even notice we were even standing at the front desk (no bell, etc.). Room keys in hand we headed up to the room, and took the elevator. As it was going up there was a recurring 'ding' every 5-10 seconds and I still have no clue why it was doing that. After getting to the room - the key would not work. We talked to the front desk worker about this and she told us that the room we had was a little funky and "you have to jiggle it" to get the key card to work. We went back up to the room (and after needing further help) found out that 'jiggling' is more of a violent repeated jab of the card in the key card reader - would've been nice to know the first time we went up. The room was nice, not huge but it was cozy and the bed was comfortable with several pillows. Unfortunately, one of the pillows had a bleached (but not removed) red stain on it, we did not use that pillow. The AC/heat was really weird... I don't know if it was an issue with our individual room but it was very warm when we entered the room and I was sweating almost all night (I'm usually cold). Upon waking up the room was pretty chilly, we did not change the temperature settings at all. The walls were pretty thin and I heard the neighbors several times through the night. The bathroom wasn't bad, however the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all attached to the wall to prevent stealing it. I don't know but something doesn't feel quite right about using communal shower products. Check-out was similar to the check-in, waited for awhile to be seen before being helped.

Side note - I am trying not to let the loud children affect my review because 'loud children' is not something the hotel staff can fix BUT there are some loud children here and they run through the halls at all hours of the night.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in the area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you won't be let down.

After a long day of travel we were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile. Despite a hiccup beyond her control, the woman at the front desk was patient, understanding and worked diligently to help us to get checked in. The hotel itself is excellent. Lovely accommodations and a clean room were a welcome respite for us weary travelers. We will make a point to come back here. Highly recommended.

The hotel is not fancy by any means, but it is comfortable. We loved the hot tub and the indoor/outdoor pool. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and varied slightly every day. We were in the Rancher's Retreat and loved the fireplace and jacuzzi tub in the room.
The convenient location was close to the highway and plenty of restaurants.

-Service animal friendly
-Great food and drinks on-site (be sure to say hi to Tim, the bartender, he's awesome)
-Great heated pool and hot tub (open till 11PM)
-Cozy and comfortable rooms with large fridge and microwave

I was traveling home for the holidays with my dog when all of the roads in southern MN were shut down due to the wind and ice. With the change in plans, I stumbled upon this little gem. Though, only after being turned away at a Wyndham nearby for having a registered service animal (which is illegal). I'm happy I was able to stay at Stoney Creek and the staff were very friendly, despite having to work the day before Christmas Eve and in the sub -20F temperatures, nonetheless.

This was a great place to stay! The location was convenient, right off the interstate, and in a safe area. The rooms were clean, breakfast was hot with many options, and they had an amazing pool area! The overall lodge feel of the hotel was warm and inviting.

Only thing I did not like about the room was that they did not have an additional secondary chain/metal bar lock on the door of our room. They did have a deadbolt type lock that is standard in hotel rooms though.

We did a STAYCATION at Stoney Creek. Kids had the a great time. The premier suite was beautiful, spacious, we loved having the full size fridge! The golf theme and decor were very neat. King bed was super comfortable and we had plenty of extra pillows.

We were told the pool was heated to 84 deg. Year round however, unfortunately it was much colder than that during our stay.

We requested a roll-a-way bed and extra towels/linens. The towels and linens were dropped off, the desk attendant stated yes one was available, she was going to get the roll-a-way bed, then never returned. We had to go down to follow up and all the beds had been taken.

The free breakfast was decently good, the staff were super friendly and attentive to refilling items. Only complaint was there were lots of ants around the coffee creamer/coffee bar.

Overall- we had a good time. We will try a few other hotels in the area before returning.

Doest accept residents of Fort Dodge, No exceptions. They'll turn you down even if you're dressed nicely if you are a resident of Fort Dodge, Never heard of such a thing. It is Discriminatory to Deny a person a service because you don't like the residents here. If I could've gave a 0 I would. Sleep Inn across the street is your better choice

If diesel engines help you sleep: come check this place out. It's right next door to a soda distributor. You'll likely be woken up early in the morning if your room is in the back of the building. Very friendly staff and hot breakfast items, including a waffle maker and cereals. A couple hundred TV channels including commercial free movie channels.

This is a mainstay for us when in the Ft Dodge area. The pool is great for the kids, and the rooms are clean and nice. The gathering areas near the check-in counter are accommodating for large family breakfasts or to lounge together over tea. If you are going for the hot tub experience, be sure to ask if it's working.
