We had an amazing stay at Mokara for the weekend. Genuinely impressed by all the amenities. However, the service is the real reason why I am writing this review. All the employees make you feel like you are at home and they are there to help you with whatever you need. Service is extremely fast and food/drinks were great quality. Lastly, we would like to shout out Isaac at the front desk for his attention to detail, hospitality, and kindness.

The best. It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting the city for the river walk. They have an exit to river walk directly from inside the hotel. Please see attached video. The rooms are very well maintained and the service is awesome. Their rooftop has a small bar and pools, perfect place to spend time in the evenings.

We are a family of four with two little kids. We had two dogs. The cleaning fee is a one time fee for the length of our stay we stayed for a couple days so the one time fee was worth it for us versus $50/night/dog. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The rooms were as pictured. Staff was very very helpful. We had gotten massages too. The therapists were very knowledgeable.Edit: I stayed here with my husband. We can sometimes be separated as a family due to his job but we have been lucky and haven’t had to do this in years. My two daugthers have missed their father since before Christmas. We decided to come together for a weekend in San Antonio. They were happy to see him but distraught when he left. Isaac was very empathetic and called to check on them. Definitely recommend this hotel! They seem to notice the little things. Customer service has been stellar here and accommodations have been great.

This is a nice boutique type hotel and spa. Perfect for anyone coming to the Riverwalk as it's right on the middle of the action yet still quiet. The 1st thing I saw was 1st class hospitality. Everyone working there was cheery and helpful. 2nd thing was the upscale vibe. The rooms are gorgeous and the beds comfortable. The spa was easily accessible and offers wonderful service professionally provided. Will definitely be back again and again. Worth every penny.

First time in San Antonio and took a chance with this place.Physically and location wise, it was exactly what I expected, plus many unexpected positive surprises. A neat hotel. What really stood out for me was the entire staff, from the managers to all the support personnel, regardless of the time of day.If you want a warm and top notch experience, definitely don't be afraid of trying this place out.I'm very thankful, after I spent time downtown and looked at the other hotels I almost chose, that I chose this one.An exerpet from my ex wife who shared the experience with me:"It was AWESOME! Reminded me about the beauty in life. Time with family... Time alone to rejuvenate.... Time to sleep deeply with the amazing pillows. Thank you for that experience."It's a good place to feel welcomed and know that everything is taken care of.

Valet service by Troy was excellent on both checkin and checkout. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful - thanks Andre. Room was clean and well cooled. Couldn’t hear traffic below, so nice work in the noise reduction. Hotel is walking distance to plenty of great eateries. Made my stay for conference an easy one!

This is what luxury is! We had a wonderful stay. You can feel the history of the hotel. The sides are amazing and the location is great. Close to the river walk and the stress you want to be. The bed was great, the room was big and bright. Wonderful experience. I hope i get a chance to stay there again.

Disassociated with the service, our rooms were facing air conditioning vents/units. We used a family and friends corporate Marriott form and honestly whenever we do this we get top notch service and care. The front desk staff was overwhelmed and not nice. The bartender was stoic, slow and rude. She didn’t know how to complete orders from customers in the order they entered the bar. We always stay in Marriott’s as I mentioned and this one was disappointing. Rooms were big and comfortable and the valet guys and bell boys were also great! Which is why it was shocking that the staff at ALL bars and restaurants and front desk was so bad! Oh the small front desk bar also made my drink wrong I asked him to remake it and he refused, I had one sip on front of him. $17 dollar drink

I’ll start with the only con we experienced and continue on to the pros.Upon arrival 30 minutes AFTER the scheduled check in time we were told our room is not yet ready. When we inquired about when the room will be ready we were told there is absolutely no way to tell and given a 40$ credit “for the inconvenience”.Approximately 15 minutes later we spoke to the front desk and told them to cancel our reservation as we are leaving to a different hotel. Then a room was immediately ready. As for the pros:-The location of the hotel is very central and easily accessible from/to the riverwalk, Alamo, etc.-A historical hotel in a beautiful building.-The interior design of the hotel is absolutely stunning! Everything is well thought out and aesthetically pleasing.-the shower head in the shower is detachable.
