we would not come back, nor recommend this hotel to others.
I wish I could have booked an ocean view but the hot tub was a very nice touch. It was hot and waiting for us to enjoy. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The walls are very thin. The first morning we had to listen to what sounded like a gymnastics team practicing for the Olympics. The second night and morning, we got to listen to every single word from the party next to us. Although the noise was annoying, it was not unbearable for us enough to complain. The rooms are adorable and clean. The first bed was not as comfortable as the second bed we had. Upgrades could be made to the bathrooms but they were not horrible. A microwave would be nice. The location is very close to the beach and pier. Parking in the garage was minimal but we always had a space. I felt the price for these rooms were extremely high for the rooms we had. Overall I didn't hate the experience but will probably stay elsewhere next time.
Couple things I wish was a little better would be to have the fireplace on the actual thermostat so we can adjust temp and put a swivel mount up for the TV. Was kinda strange that the TV is at almost a 45 degree angle of the bed.
As for the food in the morning, was really disappointed. We expected more than 7 ounces of OJ for $5. The food itself was good, but didn't really meet our expectations for the price we paid.
As a Flight Attendant, I have the opportunity to stay in many hotels! This room had one of the MOST COMFORTABLE beds that I have ever slept in!
The staff was also very accommodating!
The property as a whole is dated and needs a facelift. There were several little things that were also kind of disappointing. For instance, there were no clean towels available at the pool. There were also several dirty towels lying around the pool, which left the area feeling uncared for.
We ate twice at the restaurant and both times the staff was apologizing for taking so long. Lots of apologies. That’s not good. The food was average at best.
The location is fantastic! And the happy hour wine tasting was certainly a nice touch!
I don’t take joy in writing a less than stellar review. But in doing, so I hope that the items reviewed can be corrected for future guests.
The total for two nights and associated taxes, etc., was almost $1000($992). For us, the cost didn’t match the experience/quality. At that price, we were hoping for something much more elevated. If we decide to return to Pismo, we would likely stay at a different property.
