Where exactly is the jacuzzi in Laguna Beach hotels?
We analyzed 4 Laguna Beach hotels with in-room jacuzzis and mapped where the tub is located, the average nightly rate, and which hotel leads each category.
Book the Ocean front room farthest right corner. Its really nice. The Low rating is because you cannot expect good service there anymore as they have no more F’s to give. Stayed there 4x in last 12 months and attitude/service going down hill while price still high so 2-3 star…as location and room were nice. (Issues with room twice went unfixed but on beach is nice to be)
We happened to drop by while driving on Pacific Coast Highway because it was right on the beach and the parking lot looked really classy. We walked in for lunch without a reservation, but they set us in the high bar stool overlooking the ocean. What a gorgeous view!...also a wonderful setting through these big windows that are wide open & we could watch the ocean and the waves crashing on the sand shore. You can't go wrong but the food was a little pricey. We ordered the shrimp salad for $36 but only 3 little shrimp came with no salad whatsoever. We were iittle disappointed but I think you're paying for the view.
The property is undeniably stunning — breathtaking views, beautiful grounds, and a serene atmosphere. But the service and policies behind the scenes were a massive letdown.
One afternoon, I cut my beach time short specifically to enjoy the steam room, only to be told upon arrival that the spa had decided to close early due to low guest traffic — with no prior notice. I was then informed I’d need to book and pay for a service just to use the amenities. At hotels charging $1500+ per night, spa access is standard. This felt petty, short-sighted, and out of touch with the caliber they claim to represent.
Worse still was what happened after four nights and nearly $10,000 spent. I returned to the hotel around 5AM after a long studio session, accompanied by my partner — who happens to be Black. The overnight staff became visibly uncomfortable, and I was interrogated at the front desk for over 15 minutes. They claimed the room wasn’t in my name and insisted my ID didn’t match — when it absolutely did. The reservation was in my name. My ID was valid. Only when a manager finally appeared did they calmly confirm my information and hand over the keys. No apology. No explanation. Just dismissal.
I understand the demographics of Laguna Beach — but this kind of treatment is unacceptable anywhere. Profiling, discomfort, and passive aggression have no place in hospitality, especially not at this level.
The fact that this occurred after nearly a week-long stay makes it even more disturbing. I travel often. I know what true luxury feels like — and it’s not this.
We decided to stay here on a whim for a quick getaway June 15-17. We could not have asked for a better room or location. We really wanted a little time to relax and unwind and being able to enjoy the ocean views during the day, and listening to the ocean at night, did just that. We did not want to leave. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service from every employee. Every one was so helpful and kind. Maxine at check-in, Oscar with room service, and Gabe at valet. We will definitely be coming back here.
This is a beautiful hotel. We stayed in the renovated wing. The few is gorgeous . The bed is super comfortable. It's got all the amenities you would need. Listening to the waves at night is blissful. Breakfast was great... But my sister paid for the trip. Otherwise I couldn't afford it and therefore I deduct a star because a hotel like this in my opinion is not worth upwards of $900 a night!
We love Laguna and made a las minute trip. Stayed at 14 West Boutique. Great location. Service was great. Small breakfast in lobby was good. Room was a bit small for 4 people, but it was last minute and that was what was available for Labor Day weekend. Pool is the best thing on property. We would stay here again.
Loved my stay at this lovely hotel. I especially loved being across street from Ralph's grocery store. Really helped instead of eating out! I would stay there again gladly. Alan was particularly pleasant and helpful.
The staff was very nice, as were the rooms. But, when we took showers, the bathroom would flood. We did end up figuring out a way to stop that. Later we had left to get food and when we came back we saw a rat run by and quickly heading back to our room. After that, we had went down to the pool, it was dirty and left a strange film on my legs. The next night, we went down to just sit by the pool and saw four rats. Everything else here was great and the game room was super cool. I would stay here again.
Pictures truly don’t do this place justice. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The villa had such a warm, homey feel. It felt more like a private retreat than a hotel. You can tell real thought went into the design and comfort of the space.
The service was excellent throughout our stay. Friendly, helpful, and attentive without ever being overbearing. We felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of.
Had a game and small gym which was great.
The location is perfect too. Close enough to walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops, yet tucked away just enough for a relaxing, quiet vibe.
All in all, this was a really great experience and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend 14 West if you’re looking for something stylish, cozy, and elevated in Laguna!
We had a wonderful time here! Quick walk to the beach, very private. We thoroughly enjoyed the heated pool when we weren’t at the beach. The front office staff, particularly Allen, made sure we had all we needed, keeping the coffee filled and yummy popcorn warm! The price was extremely affordable, allowing us to spend a little extra in laguna beach shopping! Thank you for making our stay so easy and special!
