This was the perfect place to stay during our vacation to Carmel. The staff was friendly and responsive. We loved receiving the basket of breakfast each morning. It was just enough to keep us full until lunch. Although we had a car, we walked everywhere during our stay, even down to the beach. The hotel is up a hill, so be prepared for that. I enjoyed getting the burst of exercise after all the great eating we did. We'd definitely stay here again.

We booked the day of and our options were limited on where to stay since it was a busy Saturday night. We were so pleased horizon inn had room for us. We were greeted warmly and checked in efficiently with Rudy. They were serving cheese and wine when we arrived in the lobby. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. We had dinner at 7D downtown and it was an 8 minute, easy, beautiful walk. We will be back!

We came here for a girls weekend and had a great time! Friendly staff and a fantastic happy hour with cheese and local wine (included with the stay). The hot tub and fire pits were a lovely addition - make sure you leave time to soak and sit near the fire! Our room had an ocean view, and for the price, you can’t beat it. The continental picnic basket breakfast is a really nice touch. Much better amenities than similarly priced hotels in Carmel. Will stay again!

Older but updated, modern rooms. Nice views. Small kitchenette with Keurig. Wine and cheese in late afternoon. Breakfast comes in picnic basket each morning at your door. Hot tub, fire pit, and seating area that is restricted for guests. Quiet and comfortable.

I thought I'd get away with my puppy for a couple of days and so I found this place online. I had been to a place called Carmel country Inn and I thought that place was less than mediocre. When I called, I spoke with the person that took the reservation, I mentioned that I was not fond of Carmel country inn and since Ocean View lodge is more pricier, I assumed it would be better. The person on the phone rattled off that the room has a fireplace and breakfast is delivered in a picnic basket each morning. I booked the room and I must say that I was very disappointed. The breakfast is basically bagel or croissant along with a banana. There was a single tea bag in the room to make tea. The room was very bare and didn't give you the feeling of any level of comfort or relaxation for a getaway.
In any case, will not be going to this place.

The most serene, discreet, classy hideaway not only in Carmel Valley but anywhere west of the Mississippi! The rooms are beautiful, the staff respectful and friendly and the food is absolutely amazing! And our pooch was as happy as we were! Would come back here in a heartbeat...

This review is specifically for the spa. My wife and I got the day spa package, which goes for $150/person. For the expense, the spa was just rather lame. The entrance fee gets you access to a locker room, sauna, steam room, a small warm pool, and the waiting area for massages which includes some couches, light snacks and water. The sauna was not heated. There is no cold plunge. The steam room was the main feature but pretty average for a steam room. Amenities-wise there were razors for shaving but no shaving cream.

We had a relaxing time anyway and on checkout were presented with a bill that had an added-on "service fee" of like $46. I asked what that was for and they said it was to pay the staff behind the scenes that fold towels etc, and could be optional. How is that not included in the entrance fee? It shouldn't be optional to pay the staff, just include it in the overall fee. It was an unpleasant way to end the experience with a surprise fee on the way out (apparently not a tip, but a fee? does it even go to the employees in the back?). At least for this last point, I would recommend to just charge the credit card up front so the person can leave in peace, and not have hidden fees.
Everyone at this property is incredibly welcoming and attentive. The setting is beautiful, and it’s clear they’ve thoughtfully designed every part of the experience to make your stay feel special. Don’t miss the yoga—Destyne is an excellent instructor and her classes are a highlight. And a special shout-out to Sara at the restaurant/bar, whose service was outstanding. Both are wonderful examples of the exceptional staff throughout the property.

A terrific location, beautiful views but barely a 3-star service. A huge disappointment! Rooms are nice and spacious but cleanness is below any standard. Upon arrival, the mugs were left from the previous guest, with food remaining on the spoon. Bathtub was barely clean and the stopper didn’t work. They also couldn’t provide basic equipment and we had to wait until the next morning. At the departure the cleaning personnel came in a few times to remind us of the checkout time. Totally not worth the money they are charging.

Wonderful place and its one of our favorite places to stay while in Carmel Valley CA. Service is delightful and food is wonderful. Peaceful and close to hiking trail. Great wine options and a spa you need to book in advance otherwise you won't be able to book anything 😒 no massages available during my stay but I didn't book in advance

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions — Carmel

What is the best time to visit Carmel for hotels with Jacuzzi in room?

The best time to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea for Jacuzzi suite stays is from September to November. This period brings mild weather, fewer crowds, and clearer coastal views compared to the busy summer months. Spring (March to May) is another strong option, with blooming scenery and moderate rates. Summer offers the warmest conditions but also the highest demand and prices. Winter is quieter and often more affordable, though cooler temperatures and occasional rain are common. For couples prioritizing privacy and better availability of Jacuzzi rooms, early fall stands out as the most balanced choice.

What is the typical price range for hotels with Jacuzzi in room in Carmel?

Hotels with Jacuzzi in room in Carmel typically range from $250 to $700 per night, depending on location, hotel style, and season. Boutique inns and mid-range properties usually fall between $250 and $400, while upscale ocean-view hotels or luxury resorts often start around $450 and can exceed $700 during peak periods. Weekend stays are generally more expensive than weekdays. Prices increase significantly in summer and during major events, while winter and early spring often bring better deals. Booking in advance helps secure the best rates, especially for in-room Jacuzzi suites, which are limited in number.

Are Jacuzzi suites in Carmel worth the higher price?

Jacuzzi suites in Carmel are often considered worth the higher price due to the destination’s focus on romantic, private stays. Many accommodations are smaller boutique inns rather than large chain hotels, meaning Jacuzzi rooms feel more exclusive. These suites often include fireplaces, coastal-inspired interiors, and quiet garden or ocean settings that enhance the overall experience. Compared to standard rooms, the added comfort and privacy appeal strongly to couples. While the price premium can be noticeable, especially in peak season, the combination of location, atmosphere, and in-room features makes it a strong value for special occasions or short luxury stays.
