Bakersfield Hot Tub Hotels: Quick Guide

Quick reference for booking a Jacuzzi suite in Bakersfield, California

Best Time to Visit

  • Fall (September–November): The best season in Bakersfield, with temperatures dropping from summer extremes to the 80s and low 90s. Fall also brings country music events and festivals related to Buck Owens' legacy. Good availability at most properties, with pricing moderate. Book popular downtown properties like The Padre Hotel 2–3 weeks ahead for fall weekends.
  • Spring (March–May): Pleasant mild weather before summer heat sets in, with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Spring is a secondary peak for Bakersfield, with more events and activities beginning. Kern County Fair season approaches, which can affect some hotel availability in late spring.
  • Winter (December–February): Cool and occasionally rainy, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. The quietest season for tourism, offering excellent value at most properties. Good for travelers not visiting during peak events or for those seeking budget rates. January and February offer the lowest pricing of the year.
  • Summer (June–August): Extremely hot, with temperatures regularly exceeding 100°F. The least attractive season for leisure visitors, but some business travel continues year-round. In-room Jacuzzis and indoor pools become amenities that guests actually use for relief rather than leisure. Hotels offer their lowest leisure demand but maintain business rates.
Booking tip: Bakersfield's climate is extreme and should be factored into booking decisions. Summer temperatures often exceed 110°F, making the city uncomfortable for sightseeing. Spring and fall are the most pleasant seasons. The city is also known for its country music heritage (Buck Owens' Crystal Palace) and oil industry culture, which drive specific event-based tourism. Check the Rabobank Arena and Buck Owens' Crystal Palace event schedules if these activities interest you, as they can affect hotel availability.

Important Booking Tips for Bakersfield

  • Confirm the exact room type: Jacuzzi and hot tub rooms are specific upgrade categories at Bakersfield hotels. Look for "Jacuzzi Suite," "Whirlpool Room," "Hot Tub King," or "Spa Room" when booking. At chain hotels like Holiday Inn Express and Country Inn, not all rooms include a private tub.
  • Climate considerations: Bakersfield experiences extreme summer heat, with temperatures regularly exceeding 110°F from June through August. If visiting during summer, book hotels with strong air conditioning and consider that outdoor activities will be limited to early morning and evening hours. Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are the most pleasant seasons.
  • Buck Owens cultural tourism: Bakersfield is famous for its country music heritage and Buck Owens' Crystal Palace. If your visit centers on this scene, proximity to the museum and venue on Highway 58 may matter more than downtown location. The California Inn and Suites is just 2 miles away.
  • Rabobank Arena events: The Rabobank Arena hosts sports, concerts, and events that can drive hotel demand. Check the arena's event calendar before booking downtown properties like The Padre Hotel, as pricing can spike on event weekends.
  • The Padre Hotel distinction: The Padre Hotel is the only truly upscale property in the dataset and is Bakersfield's most distinctive hotel option. If you want a resort-style experience or want to stay in a historic hotel with character, it is the best choice, though it is also the most expensive option at $159/night.
  • Pet-friendly picks: Holiday Inn Express Bakersfield, Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, Best Western Heritage Inn, Americas Best Value Inn and Suites, Super 8 by Wyndham, and Quality Inn and Suites near Downtown all accept pets. Confirm size restrictions before booking.

Short notice stay after a night a Crystal Palace. Great price for a suite. Quiet, clean, average breakfast but awesome, friendly staff. Night shift front desk guy was really accommodating. Thank you!!
I really enjoyed my stayed with my family here. Only thing was that my family suite had a another door within the room that was locked which I find sketchy. I mean not to be paranoid but with all the shenanigans happening nowadays can't be too careful. The breakfasts were always delicious and really enjoyed the pool. Parking can sometimes be a problem if you come late night. But overall my stay was comfy, great experience and home like.

The property is dated. The room was large with a sofa and a fridge and microwave. There was also a desk. The AC unit was very loud (annoyingly so) and it had to be on because of the temp. The room was clean. The WIFI was awful. I ended up creating a hotspot with my phone.
Right in the heart of Bakersfield and only a 10min detour from the I-5, this Comfort Suites was everything we needed for the long road. The rooms are really quiet, clean, have breakfast included, and a safe-feeling well-lit parking. Vinay made us feel extremely welcome, providing a smooth and friendly check-in experience, parking help, and advice for the area. Would definitely stay here again thanks to Vinay's hospitality!

The free breakfast was good! I’m not saying its gourmet or anything, but simple cheese omelette, biscuits and gravy, sausage, and a fresh waffle. yum! Wish they would replace the damaged curtains in my room, otherwise clean and spacious rooms and worth every penny.

We loved the hotel. The rooms were amazing, and the beds were very comfortable. The view was absolutely stunning. The complimentary breakfast was great, and were not even getting close to the best part, the showers. The shower were so refreshing that I couldn’t even get out. In our room we had one shower, one table, four chairs, two beds, and finally one tv. Don’t forget the thermostat, the lights, the fridge, and the microwave. There were many resources nearby, for example winco foods, Best Buy and Walmart. Over all we had a great stay.
