The hotel was very clean, with comfortable beds and exceptionally nice bath towels. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. What really stood out was the continental breakfast setup that felt reminiscent of European hotels, with an employee dedicated to preparing made-to-order omelets, as well as fresh pancakes and French toast on a griddle. The homemade cheesy potatoes were a great touch. Overall, the price was extremely reasonable given the quality and range of amenities offered.
Great location and the staff were incredibly nice. Loved that it had a community puzzle - found ourselves obsessed with it. Rooms appeared clean but the hvac service in me had me checking the filter and they were pretty filthy. Not to mention the bath fan didn’t work so our room felt humid. Bed was decent, no issues with sleeping. Outside life was a bit loud on Friday and Saturday night. Daily breakfast with made to order eggs was nice to have as most hotels don’t offer much at all. We enjoyed the impromptu horse carriage ride! The short trip across the bridge was great as we enjoyed hiking Effigy mounds and Pikes Peak Iowa state park. We came to Prairie with no plans and found ourselves busy just walking around, talking to the locals, and visiting the shops/bars. Great place all in all and due to the staff just being absolutely wonderful, we would stay here again.
Beautiful hotel that has so many wonderful little homey touches. Plus the rooms were very clean and the beds so comfortable. Also real cups for coffee in the lobby! Highly recommend to stay at if your in the area!
Booked through their website, very easy and fast. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room, public areas, and exterior are very clean and well kept. Location is perfect, short walk to downtown, park and many places to eat.
In the area for our family reunion and stayed here. Was very surprised at how nice this place is. Great service, nice indoor pool and hot tub. The room was very clean with no issues. Highlight is the breakfast. I traveled a lot with my job and this is one of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel. Very nicely setup, everything was labeled to let you know what it was, great flavor, and made-to-order eggs and omelets. I would stay here again without hesitation and highly recommend 👌.
We stayed at the AmericInn in Prairie du Chien while passing through the area. We felt welcome the minute we walked through the door. The lobby was clean and decorated with an autumn theme. The front desk gentleman was professional and polite. Our room was clean. We spent the evening in the pool and hot tub! The breakfast was phenomenal. Cereal, waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage were some of the options. The price was reasonable as well. We will go back the next time we are in the area.
We were excited that this had a hot tub AND pool. Upon arrival, we stood in the entry for a few minutes looking around to check in. A patron walking by pointed out the service button to buzz for help, stating the same thing happened to them checking in. The person who helped at the counter was unenthusiastic but attentive and competent. PRO's: The beds were nice, good size room, cleaner floors than most (newer carpet) with the exception of the pool, the hotel was fairly clean. Decent breakfast offerings. The vending machine had good stuff CON's The pool/hot tub needed to be cleaned No towels Shampoo/ conditioner not filled
Shower head attachment was broken (accessible room), low water pressure, old old carpet, the lobby area was nice, pool and hot tub looked ok but we didn't use them, beds were comfortable enough. If and when we come back to this area we will stay at a different motel! Also, only one handicap parking spot! And outside and some of the inside not very well taken care of.
Nicely updated rooms, comfortable beds. Breakfast was good. However, no decaf coffee or hot water for tea. Pool area was nice and big. They do not allow any beverages in the pool area - not even water or coffee in the morning. The toilets didn't seem to have enough pressure.
