The lady with the tattoos, the gentleman with the beard (front desk) and the nice short Latina housekeeping woman who work Monday in the afternoon are amazing! So cheerful, kind , informative and helpful! I’ve never been to Galena and thanks to these 3 wonderful people, coming here made it a very pleasant experience that I will always remember as long as I live! Thank you Best Western for such a wonderful staff and stay!
We had a great stay here and the large hot tub in the Oriental suite was great and so was the double shower. Loved the personal balcony that overlooked snowy woods. It was an amazing experience because it was -2 degrees that morning and we enjoyed the heated pool and were able to swim to the outside area and enjoy the winter stillness and beauty while submerged in warm water, but then swim back into the pool house where it's warm. Very cool experience. We did not try the breakfast so can't speak to that, but everything else was great. It was clean and enjoyable, but it does show some age and wear. Like some of the tiles in the pool were cracked, etc but overall great stay and great value.
This place straight up scams people. They show all these really cool themed rooms online. I booked the aquarium room. When I showed up the room was a typical best western hotel room. When I went to the front desk to complain, the woman just told me to “look at my receipt you booked a room with a jacuzzi tub”. I paid extra for the cool looking room, thought it would be fun. I doubt they have any of those rooms in the hotel. She claimed someone else was already in that room, and did nothing to make up for the extra money I paid. Stay anywhere else in Galena.
My sister got bed bugs. The breakfast was ok but you pretty much had to eat in the middle of the buffet with people making waffles and pouring juice directly next to you. The hot tub had clumps of hair all around it. The service was good and super accommodating, but the whole place had just kind of a dirty feel.
Amazing experience with our stay! Had a king suite with the hot tub in room. Absolutely loved it!!!! Patio facing the rear wood line. Got to experience several local four legged friends while sitting outside. Very nice workout equipment on site. Gas station next door was very convenient. It’s an older building and it shows a bit. All my experiences with staff were nice. Over all… We will definitely be back!
Such a lovely experience here. Love the cabin vibes and the breakfast was good. Staff were really accommodating for our 6 party. Didn’t stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities but will definitely be back again!
This was our first time staying here and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are super cute and the lobby is so comfy and cozy. The pool and hot tub were great! Theresa was wonderful! She held up to the expectations of reviews that I had read beforehand lol. She is very personable and goes above and beyond to make your stay exceptional.
This hotel exceeded my expectations! Stayed here with my family for a couple nights, and we had a great experience. The hotel itself is super cozy, they have a great breakfast, and for the price it’s totally worth it. Definitely a family, friendly hotel and has a great pool. We’ll definitely be staying here again. If I had to give any critical feedback, I would say the beds could be a little comfier, but all the pros weighed out this one con! 🙂
Stayed during the week for a night, a couple weeks ago as I was passing through the area. Someone immediately came out to help me before I was able to finish taking a picture of their awesome, giant front desk bell. The room was by far one of the coolest and cleanest I’ve ever stayed in and I loved checking out of all the decor in my room. The building itself is beautifully structured and designed; plus they had an amazing pool/hot tub area with lots of toys and floats. They had a well stocked 24/7 pantry and a nice breakfast area too. Super friendly staff throughout my stay and hope to visit again soon!
We stayed there in early November to enjoy some R&R and shop Galena. All hosts were warm and welcoming and happy to share eating recommendations. Checkin was fast and friendly even though we did not have reservations. They accepted either AAA or AARP discounts. We enjoyed the lounge where we watched the Packer game. The exercise room and pool area were very nice, especially the hot tub. The entire establishment was clean and well cared for. The breakfast was a couple notches above average with plenty of hot and cold choices. This is the first time seeing a pancake machine! I loved it. We regularly stay at these type of inns, both to visit family and for short getaways. In our experience, Stoney Creek establishments are a notch or two above average.
