Basic hotel. AC took a minute to cool down, but eventually worked fine. We stayed during a busy weekend and you could definitely tell workers were stressed. The one elevator also shakes when in use which was concerning.
they nickel and dime you for everything, including just a cup of coffee. they have these Starbucks signs everywhere but if you want coffee you have to buy it from the cafe in the lobby. the bed was good, Internet tv is good, the front desk employees were nice, it's just really annoying they don't have coffee, or breakfast for that matter, without purchase.
Stayed a few nights Summer 2025. Pros: Location was convenient. Parking plentiful. Front desk was friendly and helpful. But cons: dirty bathroom (toilet had dirty TP stuck to the sides), coffee station was not refilled when I checked in. Onsite barista was cold and unfriendly. Pool water was all kinds of sketchy.
Plenty to eat nearby, the food on site is great to! Staff has been kind, and the location is peaceful. Stayed about a week, Mike at the bar was efficient and attentive to his customers. Cooked good to!
1st room reeked of smoke, so asked for new one so we wouldn't be charged for it. They said they'd call when ready, which they forgot to do, so we went back to desk to resolve again. New room had sopping wet carpet next to bed from some leak; closet smelled like mold, black cobwebs in one corner of ceiling, asked for all new towels to replace ones we put on wet carpet but housekeeping didn't do room (saw cart at other end of hall when we came back 3:30), went to desk, Mr earbuds (so named because he was more interested in whatever he was listening to than noticing guests. This was continual, not a one-off; I know it was slow location, but at least keep a visual on front of desk) said he'd tell housekeeping to bring towels. They brought two towels. Asked her for more, explaining why and finally got them. 2nd night we discovered black stains all over one side of one of the 2nd pillows. Probably makeup or hair coloring, but just uck. Service from bistro laughable as guy didn't know menu, ingredients, or how to make cafe mocha or double shot espresso. Food was cold. Last morning different person was there but she had already closed and was doing totals, so didn't want to make new coffee order, understandable, but said front desk could do it. All good until we turned around to look at menu and she snapped that she told us what to do. Rude and aggressive. The lady at front desk however was polite, professional, and helpful--exactly the service I've received at every other Marriott. But what a contrast. Location got 2 stars only because it's close to a highway, but directions to/from are confusing and the area is like a maze. So, Never. Again.
My review is based on staff interactions with rude black woman at the front desk. I initially did the survey I received in an email after a stay and wasn't going to leave a Google review but here I am after yet another stay of the same.
On my resent stay, I walked in to check in and was greeted by an empty front desk. Waited a few minutes only to be greeted by the same person that was rude to me last time. This time she had a baguette that she was chomping on. I kid you not, she was eating while greeting me. The crumbs were flying. Same rude transcript as last time but this time she confronted me about what I thought was a private survey. Somehow she knew about it and that it was me which is so unprofessional. I told her I wasn't going to discuss it but of course she still had something to say and did, of course no remorse at all and clearly wanted to be argumentative.
Overall, I like the Hotel and would even stay again with hope of being greeted by someone else. This place needs better staff.
Edit: So, I have stayed again and was greeted and checked in by a different staff member, everything went smoothly.
Nice clean fairly new hotel in a convenient location for activities around Hartford. Great room layout with large bathroom and plenty of hanging space, comfortable beds and nice design. Ran in to three problems: very spotty WiFi which persisted both in room and public area for both of us on different devices; sub par service with poorly trained staff who clearly don’t have experience in fundamentals of hospitality - this was most evident at reception; reported a problem with sink drain via text and to front desk but never got resolved. There is a cool woodland trail nearby and some decent food options. We come to the area regularly to visit family and not sure we’d try this hotel again unless there are more positive reviews on staff service.
The hotel is relatively new and the rooms are attractive, but the water pressure in the shower was low every day we were there and the service was bad. Sometimes there would be someone staffing the front desk and sometimes not - especially after 5. And the cleaning service? Each day we dutifully signed up to get the room cleaned just one day during the four days we stayed there and each day we’d come back to a messy room with used towels. Even getting clean towels brought to our room was a major hassle — until I walked down to the front desk and insisted on standing there until the towels were handed to me in person. We stay in a lot of hotels, and whoever the general manager is should take a good look at what providing basic customer service looks like - sheesh!
The rooms were clean and modern with hardwood and tile floors. The beds were comfortable and the location has a bar that's open until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. Breakfast is not included but you can pay for it. Well this location wasn't right by the venue that we were booking for, there was a large number of shops and restaurants adjacent to the hotel that made getting dinner and meals very convenient.
We stayed for a short visit to CT. This hotel is is nothing less than AMAZING! From the heated pool, its modern architecture and friendly staff. Kiana was very welcoming with excellent customer service. Highly recommend! Oh and breakfast as delicious; made to order.
