Don't let the outside facade deter you. The inside was clean, up to date, and the staff was nice and helpful. I stayed in a room with a jacuzzi and loved it. I visit Pittsburgh often and will definitely stay again.
Clean, quiet rooms, comfortable beds, lots of pillows, extra blankets in the closet (hubby likes the room cold) beautifully decorated rooms. Heater/air conditioner works great (constant fan setting if you need the sound to sleep like I do) huge TV, premium cable. Internet works great too. Coffee maker (so so coffee) microwave & fridge. Ice maker in the hall, snack/drink machines too. Complimentary breakfast was fantastic. Fresh fruit, chafing dishes with breakfast food. Waffle maker, yogurts, cereals, pastries, bagels, juices, coffee machine (there's a bold setting!!!) tea & cocoa. Great seating area where you can actually sit and enjoy your breakfast. Hubby & I were very happy both mornings we were there.
Staff is 100% the best part of the hotel! They make it welcoming and friendly, very helpful and ready to help you at any moment. Rooms were decent but pullout is a single bed definitely can't fit 2 people but otherwise good location and rooms smelled clean and comfy
Jay, Front Desk was incredibly helpful, had a genuine and welcoming smile, and awesome customer service skills! Jay was happy to help and made for a great stay! The room was very clean, comfortable, at a good price point, and was recently updated. I particularly loved the LG television unit in the bathroom which I used! Way to go Jay!
Book it! Andre is a Sweetie and seriously saved the day. Drove in from 5 hours away at 4am this morning and had a horrible experience with a neighboring chain hotel. Ended up working all day with no place to stay this evening. Saw the ratings and called and the high overall rating for this location is accurate. Not only did Andre get me quickly setup with a room, he also added a few perks that happened to be available. Being a wife and Mom of two struggling to be away from my Family, he had no idea how much his friendly attitude and kind gesture would mean. Also- my job is to train on operations, sales, and customer service.. He’s got it right. Well done Andre! Big thanks to him for turning my whole trip around.
To add to this - room was clean, breakfast looked great, morning staff met me with a smile and a wave even though she was on the phone, and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve probably slept in.
I first stayed at this Hampton In in 2019 and liked it. Nothing stellar but typical Hampton quality. Fast forward, the establishment has deteriorated. After three recent stays, I am calling it quits and not staying here again unless it undergoes serious renovations. The several rooms I have stayed in were damp and musty. At one of the stays, I had to change rooms because the AC was not working. Of recent, even the door was not fitting requiring application of force to either open or close it which is concerning in case of safety. I know bad quality when I see one. I average 40-50 hotel stays a year mostly for business with preference for Marriott and Hilton brands.
Stayed at this hotel while working in Monroeville. Will be back due to my loyalty to Hilton, but unfortunately this hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. I had no issues whatsoever with the service or location of this hotel, but it’s obvious by the state of this facility that it has not been renovated in a very long time. The elevators are very old, slow and worn down, with obvious pieces of chipping wood on the walls and wear on the buttons from decades of being pressed. I also encountered several doors that jammed in their frames, including my front door and bathroom door, and the chair and couch in my room were both dirty and frankly disgusting to sit on due to their discoloration and stickiness. The desks in my room were also sticky which made me feel gross when I sat down to eat dinner there. I had no problems with the bed or air conditioning, but unfortunately the general state of the room was poor. Even the wood on the doors was cracked and chipping away.
Great rooms, convenient to the highway and local shopping, COMFORTABLE beds, and modern amenities.
Staffing is outstanding, each person was personable, friendly, and helpful.
Breakfast was ok, better than most local hotels, with the standard fare. Eggs, meat, potatoes, French toast, cereal, waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, and some fruit.
Their fitness center is very nice, but they NEED a fan in the room to circulate the stagnant chlorine air in the room. Venting the pool area will also help, the pool treatment chemical smell is overwhelming.
There are a few details to be addressed in order to make the Hampton Inn a local five star hotel.
We can say the price is worth the stay, we had to stay one night at another hotel and hands down the HIP/M is far superior, thank you to all for your hospitality.
Came here for a baseball tournament. Staff was accommodating with all the kids messing around. Room was small but ok. Pillows and sheets smelled a bit off but maybe that was from 4 nights being there. Easy location to the diamonds. Good enough I guess for a casual stay
Update: Called the hotel (twice) after receiving a "Response from Owner". Left a message for the general manager. It's been 4 days and no one has called back.
The hotel was sold out, but it seemed they were not prepared for the crowd. Manager was not on-site all weekend. Some employees were rude and made sarcastic comments. Understand that they're overwhelmed but they should have chosen better word choices. Rooms were very dirty. It's the worst Hampton Inn we ever stayed at.
