Beautiful hotel and great location. So many restaurants, bars and Etro 80s nightclub within walking distance. Hotel has a beautiful bar/lounge area. Rooms (bed and bath) are very spacious. A/C worked great and beds are super comfortable with adequate bedding and pillows. Very clean and had everything we needed. Check in was a breeze and our bellman was very accommodating and kind. We had a room right by the elevator and we never heard noise coming from the hallways. We had a few problems with no hot water and the housekeeping staff but manager Umer addressed and took great care of us. Highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

My husband and I are locals and chose to stay downtown for our Anniversary. I chose this hotel because of its historical feel and beautiful features. It is a luxurious hotel which made us feel as if we had stepped back in time. The room and bathroom were beautiful and very clean.

Even though it is very beautiful, I feel that a standard is set by the little details of a stay. Here are the concerns that I experienced: When I booked the room online through the Marriott site, there was a place for you to list your preferences for your stay. It has a place for us to list the number of extra towels and pillows (including type of pillow) and other requests. On the site, I had asked for additional towels and feather pillows along with a bottle of Champagne set up in the room for when we arrived (wanting to surprise my husband). When I "checked in" the day before on the app, it once again asked about towels and pillows. Needless to say, none of my requests were provided. When I checked out, I mentioned to the man at the desk about a better way to notify them next time, he said that I should call and let them know because sometimes, they don't see the comments left on the reservation. My thought is "Why not?". Why have the box if no one is going to read it?

Second, when we arrived to get our key, I mentioned to the lady (who was very nice) that it was our anniversary. She congratulated us and said she was going to give us 2 free breakfast buffets to help us celebrate. I thanked her but, needed to point out to her that I had purchased the bed and breakfast package, so I should already have breakfast provided. She apologized and asked if we would like a cake sent to the room instead. We were thrilled and said thank you. However, the cake never arrived. Even though it was not expected, my thought is to never offer something if you aren't going to follow through with it.

My next concern is about the bar area. (before, I begin, should say that it was empty at 3:30 pm on the day after New Year's Day). It is a very beautiful space with dark wood, chandeliers, and character. After we checked into the room and got settled, we decided to head to the bar for a glass of wine (by the way was $17 each, didn't know because I had asked for Kendall Jackson, which they didn't have, and the bartender suggested something else). All fine, but a little taken back, but okay. We sat at the table and decided to order an appetizer with our wine. Since we didn't see any menus or were given any, my husband got up to go get one. The bartender came back and I asked about the charcuterie board, she said it was a great choice. When it arrived, we were a little underwhelmed and disappointed. It had plenty of meats, cheeses, and grapes, but instead of the rye bread rounds stated on the menu, we were provided a piece of cinnamon toast cut into thirds to use with our meats and cheeses. You could even tell it was a piece of toasted cinnamon bread because it still had the round crust on the top. When the bill arrived I chose to not say anything because we had already eaten and what good would it do, however, the waitress did take off a charge for one of our glasses of wine because we had to walk over to get a menu (her choice not ours). We hadn't said anything to her about the board or the cost of wine but were appreciative of the gesture.

Finally, at 8:15 am, I heard someone trying to come into our room. I had to yell that we were still here. The door shut and nothing else happened. Check-out time was set for 1 pm and we had not checked out yet. A little surprise and an adrenaline dump to the system since I was still asleep, but all was well. At that point, we decided to get up.

As I said at the beginning of the review, this hotel is very beautiful and we enjoyed learning about its history. We are from Houston and weren't aware of this hotel and the story behind it. However, our disappointment lies within the tiny details. If we are going to pay this much for a single-night stay, we would hope for more attention to the small things.

The overall hotel experience was by far the best we've stayed at. My husband and I have traveled with him being in the military and we chose to be here for our mini honeymoon getaway. Here they were very friendly. From check-in, to valet service, to sitting and dining. Their staff was great. The room service was the best, they cleaned our room daily without us having to remind them, and were quick to give us more towels and amenities when we called for them. Their drinks, especially the sangria was amazing. The only complaint we had was trying to enjoy a drink at the bar with Daisy. She was quick to get us out there and was rude when asking for our order. Other than her, we'd be happy to stay here again.

I went there with my husband for a quick birthday getaway & we had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very clean, quiet, & cozy. The staff was excellent and even took time to share the history of the hotel, which was very interesting.

Very cool hotel that used to be a bank. The rooms are nice with tile bathrooms, jetted tubs and a shower. High ceilings and large windows (with lots of curtains) make it bright in the day and dark for sleeping. They have a breakfast you can buy and a bar that serves super late. The location is amazing plus they have a parking garage. We just explored by foot from there. Very nice staff.

Me encanto este hotel! Esta súper céntrico . Quiero remarcar: tienen un servicio de transporte gratuito que te lleva a lugares cerca del hotel entre las 3 y las 11 de la noche. La recepción súper amable, nos dejaron hacer early check in y eso nos permitió poder trabajar tranquilos. Pedimos la habitación con desayuno incluido y estaba bastante bien.. es buffet que te sirven de 7 a 11.
Las habitaciones están muy cómodas y el diseño está súper lindo. Podrían mejorar las almohadas y también podrían planchar la Sábanas o edredones.. esta muy arrugado.

El precio es alto para lo que ofrecen. Te ponen cafetera y cafe pero si lo quires hacer te venden el agua 😒. Todavia de lo alto del precio te cobran 40 el estacionamiento por dia. Pedi que si me traian los globos que abia olvidado en el carro y me dijeron que si, se le dio la propina y nunca regreso con los glovos. El precio del estacionamento no te lo mencionan ya cuando acuerdas te lo cargan a la habitación. Definitivamente jamas volveria a quedarme ahi. Eramos 4 personas (adultos) y solo pusieron 1 shampoo.

Easily accessible from Houston Hobby. The staff was super friendly, helpful at every turn both over the phone and in person. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The full breakfast was tremendous topped off with a TEXAS shaped waffle!! Will definitely stay here again when the need arises. Traveling solo and I felt very comfortable in this hotel.

Very reasonably priced and just less than 2 miles from Houston Hobby Airport.
The desk clerk was friendly and the check -was fast. The hotel lobby was nicely decorated.
Our room was clean and had a fridge, coffee and tea with a kurig machine, iron and ironing board. The bedding was comfortable. The included breakfast was good. Waffles, eggs, coffees, tea and hot chocolate. There was an assortment of pastries.

First of all, the rooms are clean and the hotel is in a great location. There were 2 issues with our stay. I booked a whirlpool suite and received a room with a small walk in shower. That issue was never resolved. For disabled people, it is not very disability friendly. At least they didn't have roaches.

Very nice staff and really good complimentary breakfast. Only one complaint: not enough electrical outlets in the room and NO Mirror except in the bathroom. Otherwise, very clean and good ... Which is why gave it a five star rating. We will stay here again. Good value for the price!
