Schenectady Hot Tub Hotels - Quick Guide

Quick reference for booking a Jacuzzi suite in Schenectady and surrounding area

Best Time to Visit

  • Summer (July–August): Peak season. The Saratoga Race Course thoroughbred season runs from late July through Labor Day and is the single biggest hotel demand event in the region. The Saratoga Performing Arts Center season of classical and popular concerts runs concurrently. All Saratoga Springs and surrounding properties fill fast during track season. Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead for any weekend during racing season.
  • Fall (September–November): Excellent shoulder season. After Labor Day, Saratoga and the Capital Region see sharply lower pricing and good availability. Fall foliage in the Adirondack foothills around Saratoga Lake and Ballston Lake is scenic. Good time for couples seeking the area's character without racing season pricing.
  • Winter (December–February): Lowest pricing window. Schenectady's Proctors Theater keeps some cultural demand. Good availability at all properties. Best time for couples to find deals on jacuzzi suites, particularly at the Saratoga Springs Broadway properties.
  • Spring (April–June): Good value window before racing season. Saratoga Spa State Park opens for mineral spring baths in spring. Good availability at most properties at off-season pricing before the July track season launch.
Booking tip: Saratoga Race Course thoroughbred racing season (late July through Labor Day) is the hardest hotel window to book in the entire Capital Region. Properties on Broadway in Saratoga Springs can double or triple in price during track weekends. Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead for any summer racing season stay, or visit in June or September for a dramatically more affordable experience.

Important Booking Tips for Schenectady and Saratoga Springs

  • Saratoga racing season is the hardest window to book in the region: Late July through Labor Day is Saratoga's peak. Properties on Broadway and within 10 miles of the track can double or triple in price. Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead or plan your visit for June or September to enjoy Saratoga at off-season rates.
  • Two perfect-rated properties at very different price points: Stay Saratoga ($172/night, 10/10) and Comfort Inn Schenectady ($153/night, 10/10) are the only perfect-rated properties in the Capital Region. Both represent exceptional value for their rating.
  • Confirm your room type: Not all rooms in these hotels have jacuzzis. Look specifically for "Jacuzzi Suite," "Whirlpool Suite," or "Spa Room" when booking to avoid a standard room.
  • Best budget options: Belvedere Inn Schenectady ($99/night) is the most affordable confirmed jacuzzi hotel in the area. Holiday Inn Saratoga Springs ($120/night) and Hilton Garden Inn Clifton Park ($114/night, 9.0/10) are strong mid-range options.
  • Vacation rentals for groups: The Ballston Lake waterfront home ($1,000/night), Family Home Near Saratoga ($300/night), and Uptown Watervliet ($196/night) are vacation rental properties ideally suited for couples or small groups rather than standard solo traveler hotel stays.
  • Verify with the hotel: Some travelers report jacuzzi rooms can be substituted at check-in if not confirmed directly with the property at the time of booking.

Like most hotels in Schenectady, all old. Old-looking bathroom and carpets, need to be renovated. Bathroom should be brBare wooden floor would be nice. Room is just OK. Clean enough. AND it was over $250 a night weekend rate - with tax over $300. So I expected more.

However overlooking all that, the first "sunshine" was the front desk and breakfast staff. All attentive and smiles.

Location is great. Less than 6 min walk to Amtrak station.

Would not recommend. Floor was very dirty and seems like they hadn’t vacuumed in ages.

Bathroom was moldy due to the extremely poor ventilation and high humidity in there.

80$ Charger was stolen after house keeping cleaned room. Manager was very nice but in the end, it was never found after looking through my stuff and double checking all the drawers.

Nice people, not so nice everything else. Would not come back.

We booked two rooms in this hotel during labor day long weekend. We spent a short time there, basically we arrived late at night and left early in the morning. It was good in general although the body wash container in my room was empty which was not a big deal for me, but what disappointed me was their trustworthiness. I left two pieces of my clothes in my room closet. The day after we left the hotel, I called them and asked them about my items and mentioned that one of them was valuable to me since it was a gift. The receptionist said he will check and let me know but he didn’t. I followed up the day after and I was told that there were no items found but they will keep looking for them. I followed up again after a few days and heard the same thing. They never contacted me after that. It’s not possible that my cloths get disappeared from the closet, so it means that the hotel personnel/maid took the items that do not belong to them. It is not ethical and professional and I’m disappointed that they return my items.

I rely on legit reviews, so I am leaving this for that reason. This location is always my top choice when visiting Schdy, but I was very disappointed this trip & switched hotels for more than half of my stay. I shared these observations on the Hilton app chat before switching hotels, w/ no response. Not a good feeling to see that the parking access readers lay broken & no gate. Black mold on drapery and tub grout of 1st room. Desk services reps were great and accommodating when asked to change rooms but had to request that the shower curtain be replaced due to mold & mildew in second room. Stayed here years ago and the quality has noticeably deteriorated. Rooms felt dingy, drab. Pillows felt old & bedding was thin and worn. Lobby couch dirty. Lobby curtains need cleaning. Cold coffee in urns in evening. Priced much too high for the quality of this particular location. Not what I am used to at Hilton properties. That said, customer service from Gabriel was great.

This hotel is in a great spot—right in downtown Schenectady, walking distance to plenty of restaurants, shops, and Proctors Theater. Super convenient if you’re catching a show or just want to explore the area.

The rooms are a bit dated in terms of decor, but they’re very clean, which matters more to me. What really stood out was the service—everyone at the front desk greeted me with a smile and went out of their way to be helpful. Really warm, welcoming staff.

There’s a pool and hot tub that seem to be popular—there was always someone in the hot tub during my stay. Only downside is that it’s right in view of folks walking to the elevator, which felt a little awkward.

The gym is basic with older equipment, and the floor matting is uneven, which makes certain exercises a little annoying. But for a short stay, it works. They also offer a complimentary breakfast with all the staples—waffles, bacon, sausage, cereal, pastries. The woman running the breakfast area is incredibly kind and attentive—she made a great impression each morning.

All in all, not a luxury hotel, but very solid and convenient with great service.

Like many other past guests, I'd recommend the Hampton Inn Downtown Schenectady. I was in town visiting family and friends for a few days, and the location just made everything easier as I took the train in from NYC.

The hospitality was warm and thoughtful, definitely better than some 4 and 5 Star hotels I have stayed at. From every person at the front desk to housekeeping, super friendly as it should be.

It is only a slightly older hotel, however, it isn't overly outdated. It has been gently used and well-maintained, and has all of the hotel and room amenities that we've become accustomed to. From the lobby, hallways, and most importantly my room, they were all very clean, fresh, and bright and airy. They host a lot of professionals, and I got a good nights sleep every night.

Also, check out google maps: cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, are all within steps from the landscaped entrance of the hotel. I love supporting local businesses while in town.

The hotel was ok. The room was a little difficult to keep cool. It was in walking distance to a few restaurants. Heard sirens fairly often. Not sure if they were fire or ambulance.

This is our go-to hotel when visiting family in the area. The front desk staff is always incredibly welcoming and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast in the morning is quite large and provides at least one option to start my day. The fitness room here is on the small side but is always clean.

I had a wonderful stay at this place! I was in town for only one night, but I can tell you this place will not disappoint. This place is very clean with no bugs. Amani and the rest of the staff are also very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was also good. I was pleased with having Cranberry juice and whoever is cooking the food... those are some damn good potatoes!!

Just completed an overnight stay, and it was terrific. The room was comfortable, roomy and very quiet. The bed for comfortable, there were lots of lights, a number of seating options, and plenty of outlets and charging ports on the nightstands. The bathroom was modern and everything worked well. The breakfast buffet was better than expected, with lots of variety. This lactose intolerant lady appreciated the vegan "butter" spread for the toast and bagels. And my dairy eating husband enjoyed his cheese omelet. There was plenty of parking in the lot, and the location right next to the Proctor's Theater was fabulous for the concern we were attending. Someone did approach my husband in the parking lot, begging for money, but I guess that could happen anywhere where there is an outdoor parking lot. We would still stay there again.

Unfortunately the Inn was not as advertised and needs some updating, air conditioning, and lobby amenities. This inn is akin to less than a motel 6. Rooms should go for no more than $60/night.

We often stay at the Belvedere Inn because we have family in the area and we find the hotel clean, comfortable and welcoming. On a recent weekend, I inadvertently left my Kindle book in the room when we left. I did not discover my loss until arriving home. I called the hotel and they had it! I made arrangements with a family member to pick it up and mail it back to me. The staff was understanding and helpful, and I appreciate their honesty and care of my property. We look forward to our next stay with the knowledge that guests are truly respected!

Older hotel with friendly staff. Room was clean. Reservation was for 2 Queen beds but had to take a king when we arrived. Said the TV didn't work in the Queen room. Was surprised there wasn't another Queen room with a working TV as the parking lot showed they were not full. King size bed was fine on one side and the opposite side had a huge basketball size divot right in the middle. Once you fell in, you couldn't get out! Otherwise the price was good for just one night!

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Belvedere Inn. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and very affordable. It was also in a great location and distance to the Rivers Casino which was only a 15 min ride. If you are looking for a place to stay in Schenectady this is a very good option.

Stayed here for 4 days while my mom and I went site seeing out of state and attended Beetlejuice the Musical at Proctor's Theater. The rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet. The location was also perfect. Easy to get to, on a main stretch of road which has a ton of food options as well as grocery and department stores. Would stay here again.
