Best Time to Visit

  • Fall (September–October): Peak season. Vermont foliage is world-renowned and October weekends around Burlington and the Lake Champlain Valley fill up fast. Stowe and the Green Mountains are especially busy. Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead for any October fall color weekend stay.
  • Summer (June–August): Second busiest season. Burlington's Church Street Marketplace, Lake Champlain waterfront, and summer festivals draw steady crowds. The Vermont Brewers Festival in July and the Discover Jazz Festival in June are notable demand spikes. Good availability at Colchester and South Burlington properties.

Hotel was amazing, super clean inconvenient to all the Burlington shops and restaurants. Hotel has attached convenient covered parking super comfortable bedding and a self-serving coffee bar in each floor. Room was everything I expected

We spent two nights during the lead up to Christmas. The Hotel was excellent, very courteous and friendly staff, and a well appointed room. A holiday fair in the lobby was a bonus. Burlington itself has gotten a bit sketchy especially after dark. The graffiti and trash blowing about has tainted an otherwise pleasant experience.

The Hotel Vermont is a modern and clean hotel located in the center of Burlington. The staff is friendly, and the Juniper restaurant and bar are conveniently located inside the hotel. Although there are no discounts for hotel patrons, the food is amazing albeit expensive. The rooms are also very nice. However, the location across from the courthouse and jail raises questions about safety as there are no security cameras on the guest floor levels. Nonetheless, the front desk has staff present for most of the day, which provides a sense of security. Overall, The Hotel Vermont is a lovely place to stay.

Not worth the price of admission. We spent over $500 a night here. This was very disproportionate to the experience. When we arrived at the front desk, we were very encouraged to check out the free coffee on our floor. Then we go up to our floor and it’s “out of order”. Why wouldn’t the front desk know that? Next, we ask for our trundle bed to get some sheets.. we come back later and they had just thrown the sheets in our room and had not made up the bed. Next day, we requested cleaning/refreshing of our room… we came back that evening and nothing had been done. We then called for towels and no one came up to give them to us! Very disappointing and not at all close to what we paid for. I’m no diva but if I’m going to be expected to pay 500 a night, I am expecting that level of service. Had I known, I would have booked at a 2-3 star hotel. We won’t return. Management/communication needs some work here.

One of the best choices for hotels in the Burlington area. The hotel is easily walkable to anywhere downtown or right down to the waterfront. The staff are all very friendly and the rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. We lucked out and had a room with a view of the lake but I know many rooms don’t have quite as nice a view (read carefully when booking!).

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the price. This is a luxurious hotel, but for the price you pay you get a below-average sized room and not much else with it (no breakfast, parking isn’t included).

Clean room. Comfortable beds. Cute decor. Room coffee, microwave and fridge. Our movies at the drive inn theater were included with the hotel. I’ll definitely stay here again if I’m ever in the area.

We had an awesome stay here. Not only were the staff friendly and helpful, we were pleasantly surprised to find that this motel is adjacent to a four screen drive-in movie theatre, which is apparently owned by the same entity, as we were given free passes to the movies playing that night. We stayed in Room 8, or I believe 11. Each room is styled after a movie star (our room was Marilyn Monroe), with some accompanying decor. Our room was impeccably clean and in great shape. Despite movies playing late into the night it was very quiet in the rooms. The beds were supportive and I slept well and had a very comfortable shower the next morning. I would love to stay here again. It is a hidden gemstone in the Burlington VT area.

We stayed here on a road trip with our granddaughter. We chose it for the novel idea of a movie themed motel with a drive in theater! It was a great choice. Easy check in, very clean and comfortable rooms, parking at your front door, and of course the complimentary ticket to the 4 screen drive in a stones throw from the room. Highly recommend!

Unique idea for a motel! Movie-Themed and located beside the drive-in theatre! Clean and spacious room! It was a fun place to stop and a quick drive to downtown Burlington. The check-in was a little unusual and there was not a person available onsite to assist during our stay. However, phone numbers were provided for anyone requiring assistance.

Great find if visiting the area.

First of all, our hearts are broken seeing the flooding devastation in Vermont and hope it didn’t touch the Starlight Inn. My daughter and I stayed one night in June at this very cute motel on our “Taste of New England” tour - extremely clean, comfortable, and very charming! The complimentary, adjacent 4-screen drive-in movie theater was a huge bonus, with old timey jingles and a surprisingly well stocked snack bar! Beautiful property with the sun setting behind the screen, as we watched the beginning of a first-run movie! Had to head back to our room a short time into the movie for a great night’s sleep and very early morning departure. In our room, we never heard one sound or saw one light from the drive-in theater! My teacher-daughter considers the Starlight Inn her favorite of all our accommodations on our New England trip! Thank you, Starlight Inn, for very sweet memories of Vermont!
