An absolutely first class experience. Ron and Stephanie truly know how to treat their guests and you can tell that they love what they do. The rooms are clean, and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The breakfasts were amazing. I would highly recommend Arrowhead to anyone looking to stay in the Durham area. You will not be disappointed!
This was everything we desired and expected. While we were not at the Inn during the day, the room was very spacious and well equipped and the breakfasts were excellent. Would recommend it to anyone traveling to the area.
This was our third time renting the cottage, now with new owners. First and foremost, the food was fantastic. Delivered to our room, the breakfast was one of the best ever in a hotel, and we have stayed in some very upscale hotels around the world. The chef, apparently one of the owners, is a true artist. We had ordered a birthday cake with the room and it was the best cake we’ve ever had (sounds stupid, but it actually was incredible). Top-notch accomodations, beautiful grounds, attention to the smallest details evident in everything. Very friendly staff. We will be back and are already looking forward to returning.
Great Getaway. Our children gifted us a stay for a birthday present. We had the most wonderful time. The owners were away but Alex had everything under perfect control. The breakfast was simply amazing. They really pay attention to details and nothing was lacking. We will be back.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Arrowhead Inn! We stayed in the Duke Suite and it was so cozy and romantic. The inn pays very good attention to detail such as the water in your room and some small snacks. Everyone working there is SO nice and friendly. Breakfast was great and exceeded our expectations. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and we will definitely be back!
The Arrowhead Inn is a beautiful place to stay and in an amazing location! My husband and I were looking for an evening away for Valentine’s Day and could not have been happier. We live in Mebane, NC, so it was wonderful to find such an amazing B&B so close to home! We will definitely be back!

As an Elopement Photographer, I love this venue because it accommodates my couples all-inclusive wedding needs that few other venues offer.
From my the first wedding I shot the beautifully landscaped grounds, the historic charm of this hidden oasis enveloped me in an atmosphere perfect for micro weddings. The staff's genuine warmth and attention to detail set the stage for an unforgettable experience, with each team member going above and beyond to ensure our celebration was nothing short of extraordinary. The individually decorated rooms made the perfect setting for the photos and videos I shot. The lush gardens and meticulously maintained outdoor spaces added a touch of natural splendor, offering a picturesque backdrop for ceremonies and leisurely strolls around the property. Arrowhead Inn Bed and Breakfast stands out not only for its historic grandeur and stunning surroundings but also for its unwavering dedication to providing an enchanting atmosphere that seamlessly marries elegance with Southern charm, making it the perfect wedding venue for couples looking to get married in a setting of unparalleled beauty and hospitality. Every time I shoot a wedding here, Arrowhead Inn exceeds my expectations and easily earns a five-star rating, making it a highly recommended destination for any couple looking to celebrate love, romance, and special moments right in Durham, NC.
The most incredible experience we could have imagined on our wedding night! Everything was absolutely quiet, spotless, so comfortable, and luxurious...from the perfectly clean tub to the soft linens, robes, and blankets. We felt so special when we got there and they were playing "A Thousand Years" and our beautiful antique radio was set to classical music! The flowers on the bed, floor, and side table were so romantic and beautiful, and the cheese and fruit plate was delicious! We felt so pampered. We will be back!
We stayed several days for our son's college graduation. The suite was secure, clean and comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. The sheets were soft and the mattress was just right. The bathroom was roomy and functional with good water pressure in the shower. The sitting room and fireplace in the suite were the luxurious beginning and end to each day, complete with coffee bar and fresh water. Breakfast was filling, delicious and appealing, including fresh fruit and pastries with the main course. The staff and owners were friendly and accommodating. The grounds are lovely, and a special delight when flowers are blooming. Allow some time to sit and relax outdoors. The location was a very easy drive to Duke's East and West campuses, as well as downtown Durham, roughly 20 minutes to everywhere we went. We are unlikely to have another reason to visit Durham in the future, but if ever we do, we would happily stay at The Arrowhead Inn again.
This place is a gem! From the gardens to the bed sheets to the service... everything was spectacular. I was there for a quiet couple of days to catch up on some work and it was lovely to work in the gardens with the great landscaping and bunnies running around. The service from the owners was 100% amazing! My only note... the house is next to a road, so it's not complete silence...but it's close to the great restaurants in Durham! I will definitely go back.
Beautiful inn on the edge of Durham. The building was historic but with modern amenities. The grounds were remarkable with huge magnolias and walking paths around a well considered landscape plan. The location was safe in a residential neighborhood, but about 10-12 miles from downtown. This didn't bother us but may be a consideration for others. The innkeeper was very accommodating and pleasant. We would definitely stay there again.
My husband and I were looking for a small wedding venue to hold an intimate wedding ceremony and we discovered the Arrowhead Inn in our search. We stopped looking after one visit, we could not have found a more perfect venue! The Inn is so naturally beautiful that we really didn’t have to decorate much. The owners were so nice and accommodating and they left no details untouched. The room that we stayed in was extremely comfortable, luxurious, and welcoming. The property was PERFECT for our wedding, and the day of coordination made for a smooth and memorable ceremony and reception. We intend to return to the Arrowhead Inn for our Anniversary and for any other excuse we can think of! 10/10
This is a pretty solid place. As other have mentioned, it’s a tad out dated in places, but certainly not prohibitively so. Rooms are comfy and the kitchenette is great. Water pressure is superb. Many hotel bathrooms don’t have a fan, but this one does.
Breakfast is above average! The eggs are real, potatoes are good, had sausage patties. I saw fresh fruit, bagels, bread, oatmeal with A LOT of topping options, yogurt and a sign indicating they have gluten-free options upon request.
I always stay here for 3-5 days each month when visiting my mom in a nearby assisted living facility. Sometimes they are out of liquid dish soap or paper towels. Or I need to ask for something I know is missing. They need more vegan options at breakfast. They only have oatmeal, fruit and a plant based milk.
We have been here for a week and a half while work is done on our home and I have been very impressed. I am a germaphobe and hotel rooms are particularly tricky for me. After reading some of the reviews, I was anxious about our stay, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that our 1 bedroom room was very clean and nice. The bed is comfortable and the shower gets hot almost immediately. I have made two service calls which were answered quickly and the issues resolved right away. We have only used housekeeping once, but the room looked great afterwards. The breakfasts are very good. I am weird about hotel breakfast eggs, but these are real eggs and are well cooked. The surrounding area leaves a bit to be desired, but that is not the hotel's fault. The parking lot and surrounding area is well lit and I have felt safe, but have not gone out alone late at night. The hotel is a little older and could use a refresh, but it is very nice for what it is, a reasonably priced, extended stay hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, if the need arose.
This place could be 5 stars if the rooms weren't so out dated and worn. The location of the hotel is not bad, but not great. Breakfast was ok... and sadly the bar/dinner area was closed our first night, but didn't provide much service the second night either...The rooms are spacious though, and the bed was comfy. Some of the furniture in my room was a little rusty and dirty (see pics).
