Google reviews for Alexandria hotels with Jacuzzi and hot tub in room
On a positive note, the location is excellent, situated in the heart of Old Town, making it within walking distance of many attractions. Additionally, the hotel features a Starbucks and a bar in the lobby, which are convenient amenities. However, the rooms are outdated, and I found several cleanliness issues that raised concerns, such as stained glass on the nightstand tables and stains on the recliner leg rest. These details suggest that the housekeeping standards could be improved.
Overall, this hotel did not meet my expectations, and I would hesitate to recommend it, especially considering the price point.👍👍👍👎👎
The staff was welcoming and attentive, ensuring my stay was pleasant from the moment I arrived. The room was clean, spacious, and stylish, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
The location was ideal, with many dining options nearby. I dined at the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal, with excellent service.
Overall, my experience at the Hilton Alexandria was fantastic. The Pure Wellness room was a standout feature for anyone with allergies or simply wanting a healthier stay. I look forward to coming back!
This hotel has a great location in Old Town Alexandria right off the metro and a short walk to all Old Town goodies and nightlife. That said, having enjoyed prior stays over the past years, I had a fairly negative experience this stay and wanted to note a few items to consider:
(1) The rooms are still ok but tired and are due for a refresh. My room on the second floor appeared generally clean but later in the evening I found a fairly large roach on the bathroom floor. Yuck!
(2) The fire alarm went nuts around 5:30 AM in the hotel and was still blasting with red lights more than a half hour later. Apparently it was a false alarm but hotel staff couldn't deactivate the alarm.
(3) The gym had several pieces of broken or barely working equipment. As an example, there are two life fitness elliptical. One was not working at all and the other's track was so damaged or warped that it was not usable. Again, it's just another example that certain aspects of the hotel are tired and need a refresh.
The Starbucks in the hotel is convenient. $36 overnight parking is pretty hefty but it's a hotel. All in all, this is a once pretty terrific property that needs a good renovation and revitalization by Hilton.
I immediately was switched to a bigger room when I noticed my mistake which leads me to talk about the customer service. The customer service at the front desk was EXCELLENT and honestly the only good thing about this location. They were attentive, accommodating, and apologetic when things went awry. While I do not recommend staying here, the employees at this location were more than amazing.
My issues with this hotel:
Maintenance: I had an issue with the shower in my first room and the "engineer" didn't show up until the morning. The "engineer" tried to fix the issue but I took a shower again that night and the issue remained so I ended up moving to another room. In this room, there was a dead bug on the floor so I had to wait again for the "engineer" to come and clean it up.
Location: While, yes, this hotel is located near Old Town Alexandria, it's a bit far from all of the restaurants and shops. There's a Harris Teeter, a coffee shop, and one restaurant in immediate walking distance but you'd have to walk a bit far for everything else. This isn't a huge deal generally but for the price, I would recommend staying closer to everything than this hotel.
Parking Valet: The cost to park was $44/night which is a lot. Also, this may be petty but I could not stand them opening my door every time I pulled up, as soon as I pulled up. I didn't have time to gather my things before they'd come and pull open my door and then just stand there.
Rooms: I feel like, while cute and modern, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. The lighting is abysmal and it's usually extremely dark in the room. They have overhead showers so if that's your thing then you'd love it but I cannot stand overhead showers. There are no microwaves and the refrigerators are small.
Second day, I went out the hotel at 9 am in the morning came back at 3 pm and the room was not cleaned yet!!!! I called saying when is ur room service is supposed to happen and the guy told me I will send them now "DO YOU WANT TO BED TO BE MADE?" In my head what type of question is this! Of course I want to the whole room to be properly made!!! They came and cleaned to the room in 5 mins! Literally 5 mins so between 9 am to 3 pm they didnt have 5 mins to clean it!!!
Third day, i get a charge on my card for 33 usd that I didnt use and went to the reception and they say no records nothing is in here and until now I did not get clarification on the charges, Im being charged for nothing, I had to tell me plz clean my room before I come back and the struggle is real! What about tomorrow ? I really cannot believe the level of service they have!
Though I stand by my various areas for improvement, I’m updating my review from 2-stars to 4 for a few reasons:
1) our stay improved after that first day, including having the internet working flawlessly the last two days of our stay.
2) our room, and the hotel overall, were actually very nice (though the lack of attention to the various details I highlight below still were surprising for a property of this quality).
3) the front desk manager Adam went out of his way to make up for the various issues we were having and ensured our stay improved after those first 36 hours. His responsiveness to our concerns made a big difference.
Original review: This supposed 4-star property isn’t yet ready for prime time. I’m staying here now and we’ve had a terrible experience, despite staying in one of the nicest rooms available (a one bedroom suite on the top floor).
Where to begin…perhaps with the internet that has maybe worked 2 hours out of our 36 here so far. Or how about the bait-and-switch “Autumn special” that included breakfast when we booked, but failed to mention that the restaurant isn’t yet open for breakfast so what’s included is coffee and a croissant at the coffee shop off the lobby. Add that to the terrible tv interface in the rooms that claims to allow casting from your favorite streaming service but doesn’t work, no towels or cups for water in the gym, no place to get ice or fill water bottles on the floor, only one towel hook in our enormous bathroom, meaning one of us has to leave our wet towel draped over a chair in the room, etc., and you get a hotel that looks nice, but fails at so many important details that makes a good hotel stay. Oh, and the hotel is far away from the sites and action in Alexandria. Won’t be staying here again and will be asking for a refund for our special “breakfast” package so we can use that money on a real breakfast elsewhere.
"Hey Alexa open the blinds"
"Hey Alexa, play some Jazz"
Aka. Pick it up. For this price I would like to see a little more "Chop-Chop"
Would definitely stay here again.
My only thing to note is the hotel could be better secured in the late hours. We didn’t have an issue but most hotels have the main doors only accessible with your key card. This hotel you could walk right in and up the stairwell with no security measures in place.
Only downside was how loud the AC is in the rooms and the shower water pressure.
an early check-in at the last minute AND assisted us with our luggage to our room. I 10/10 would recommend anyone stay here. If you’re looking for aesthetically pleasing accommodations, balanced with kind, professional, and courteous staff - you’ve found the right place! Thank you all for providing such an enjoyable experience!
