If biking from Baton Rouge to New Orleans the Inn is a well positioned stop. While there are several hotels in Donaldsonville, the rest are all run down chain hotels. The Inn is a beautiful historic building updated with modern touches, but still maintains it's character (real wood flooring, 15+ foot ceilings in room, etc.), for basically the same price as a chain. And a block from the levy. The restaurant adjacent to it is also very good. A few things to be aware of: if visiting the area on Sunday pretty much everything is closed except fast food places. And Donaldsonville itself is a wip, they are restoring the historic section but still many old abandoned buildings. Lastly the two best ways in are either riding on the levy (bikes) which is both paved and lighted in Donaldsonville or down railroad street. Ignore what/where Google Maps directs you.
The owners are super nice, restaurant that serves amazing food and breakfast. All at amazing rates and it's American Owned. Highly recommend staying here anytime you're in the area.
Beautiful area. The rooms have no windows! So we had to pay more for a corner room that has windows. Nothing interesting to see in the city but we were just passing through. Close to amenities like CVS and Walmart.
Affordable place to stay around the plantations. Room was clean and comfy, nothing fancy but has everything you’ll need for a night or two. You get a complimentary breakfast in the morning which is nice. Owners were friendly.
An enjoyable stay in a quaint inn. Stayed for three nights for work and will certainly return. Adjacent Gaston's BBQ is a major plus and worth visiting alone. So much nicer than staying in a sterile big box.
Pictures on booking.com very misleading. Staff was kind and agreed to let us check in early. Arrived at hotel and staff member was eager for us to pay for our stay before we saw the room. The room and hotel was not as it looked on booking.com and there was no refrigerator. We chose to stay at another hotel that was up to par. We were charged for one night stay. Hotel was not up to our standards. I will stick with mainstream hotels in the future rather than trying local hotels.
The owner is very rude!!! The room’s are really small. There was hair all in the bathtub, the floor was dirty, there was someone’s old toothpaste in the sink, the sheets were stained, there was dust everywhere, and there was only one door to go into the hotel because they wouldn’t fix there keypads so you had to walk all the way around the building just to bring your stuff in!!! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!!!
This is such a nice, comfy and quiet hotel, owned and operated by a local family. With modern, updated rooms, the weekly rate is more than affordable and quite reasonable in comparisson to the local competition. They have a full range of workout equipment as well as a pool table. The nostalgia of the historic building is quite a treat as well. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we cannot wait to return!
Stayed here after visiting the Barn hill preserve. Nice smaller hotel with free breakfast. Rooms were comfy but had a little odd smell in bathroom. Overall great stay though.
The location of this hotel was perfect for a travel ball tournament next to the field. However, the ac in our room did not work!!! And when you try to call the front desk no one answers. We has to go down to the first floor and we were told to put our ac on 70 and auto. There was a person cutting g the grass by the pool area while the kids were in the pool who hit us all with the weed water and then laughed. This was the absolute worse hotel I have ever stayed in for a travel ball tournament
2 night stay in town for a family event. Both nights the hotel was quiet. I loved that. Our room had a king sized bed, refrigerator, and microwave oven. Pool was small but adequate. We really enjoyed breakfast both mornings, as it was set up early. I believe about 5:30am both mornings. Enjoyed our stay.
Customer Service was great people were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was awesome love biscuits and gravy. Pool clean and nice. But.the beds were the hardest beds I ever slept on in my life Even the kids were complaining. Come on Best Western you can afford better mattresses Was surprised at the price $129.00 per room and it shows pricing as $73
