I got the oceanfront room I had hoped for. The hotel is clean and staff working constantly to maintain. Everyone is friendly. Their maintenance guys are also constantly working and very friendly and helpful. Easy walking to alot as well as the Metro has stops right out in front and ta is get here on a moments notice. We'll stocked gift shop. I really enjoyed my a Tay and love the savings of a full week. The monthly fees are attractive. I would stay here again!
I would have given a 5 star rating during our stay, but the dance hall was right above our room, and it was very loud. Could hear footsteps going back and forth and dragging of boxes or carts. Otherwise, it would have been a wonderful stay. Free breakfast and very clean. The need to improve on the sofa sleeper. The mattress was quite uncomfortable.
Got a room on the first floor and couldn't sleep with all the noise! Employees always mopping with a dirty towel just on the way of people. The hot tub inside the room didn't work the first night called the front desk and they said they would send maintenance in the morning. Waited about an hour but they never showed up. We came back to the room with no note left. Called the front desk and they said we had to hit the hot tub to make it work. Also reported that there was a strong odor of Marihuana emitting from the rooms. The front desk stated they couldn't do anything about it.
Over priced for it was. Fancy hotel prices for motel experience. Was on first 1st floor and didn’t get any sleep. Could hear everything going on in lobby. Hard floors so could hear every housekeeping and maintenance cart that went up and down the hall all morning. Loud stomping at night in room above. Before trip emergency came up and hotel absolutely refused to allow any changes at all to reservations, or even worn with us a little bit. Even though there were no booking options at the time of booking that included cancellations. Would have been charged full price for canceling. Visit SPI several times a year and will never stay here again so many better options on the island. Only good thing was pet friendly
If you want a 5 star South Padre Island getaway without breaking the bank, La Copa Inn Beach Resort is your choice. I arrived at the hotel at 11am with my King with Jetted Bath room not ready so I was allowed to use their amenities and wow I had fun. I don't recommend you spend the extra money for the jetted bath. We only used once because we had too and water took an hour to fill. Plus you have a hot tub outside so use that.. anyways Drinks including 2-5p happy hour with it's restaurant just seconds from the pool really made our experience fulfilling. The restaurant has really good food and we never moved our car. Great prices for good food. Pool and beach walking distance with a spot to rinse the sand off. There's a fitness room, area to do laundry, gift shop and Starbucks on property. Once I parked my car I had no reason to leave the property . My experience was exceptional. Great job to the staff!
We recently booked with family and friends just like we have booked in the past also when it was Travelodge. I honestly feel it was way cleaner before. I love that Luis is still there, he's such an awesome person!! Just this last stay wasn't a very pleasant experience. There was small roaches and our shower just wouldn't drain the water, we were 3 and had only 1 tiny soap and 1 mini shampoo. We notified the front desk about the roaches....hope they'll take care of that, but other than that, staff is very nice, especially Luis!
Great staff. Great atmosphere in the breakfast area. Super friendly attendant in the breakfast area. Love the beach acces too. Overall good place to stay with a hot tub and extra sofabed included and affordable! There was one thing that we noticed but did not report, which was no hot water!!!!!! If you would kindly add a bit of protein in your breakfast options, the Continental breakfast would be awesome with that addition. ( ham , sausage and bacon would be awesome). It included pretty much everything else...... Waffles were made for you too, nice! Bed was good and room spacious and clean.
Great customer service! Location is good, accessible to all businesses. Room could a bit cleaner, with more towels, and tv remote needs to be upgraded. Beds super clean and crisp! Pools were nice, jacuzzi could be cleaned out more often. Other than that very nice place! Especially because we were able to get a "No Smoking" room. No smoke smell, and a sign advising guests that an added fee if smoke ordor is detected! Highly recommend this hotel, even better if those little details are addressed. Will come back!
Cleanliness has approved significantly. Upstairs patio looks nice. A lot of tar in the walkways. Super friendly staff. Bathrooms could be improved and ice machine didn't work. Overall has always been good and now it's great. Could use hose though for dogs at the shower area when coming back from the beach. We been coming to y'all for the last 15 years. Thank you. Luis at breakfast is awesome. Deserves a raise ? ?
The front desk staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. Check-in and Check-out was a breeze. The hotel offers continental breakfast the waffles were excellent and Luis (staff) who operated the breakfast in the morning was super friendly and gave us tips on getting around and places to see during our visit. One of the recommendations was a place to rent golf carts called in-out they have the best rates and offers discounts to hotel guests. The room I stayed had two queen bed with a sleeper couch and kitchenette. For my trip the room was perfect as I travel with my service animal and two adults. We slept very comfortable and noise free. From our balcony we can see the beach it was very relaxing. will definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to travelers who like me want an affordable hotel option with perks. Items that management can do relatively quickly to improve the hotel experience for guess include: 1. the ice machine on the second floor was broken - needs to be fixed. 2. The dumpster in the back of the hotel - the doors were left open and you can see all the trash accumulating-keep the doors closed and monitored that indeed are kept closed. 3. The grill area is located on the back of the hotel across from the beach access gate. The two grills in that area are in desperate need of replacement please get them replaced at your earliest opportunity. In all these are minor fixes I am still planning on staying here in future trips to south Padre island. I recommend the hotel for individual and family trips rooms are very spacious, comfortable and affordable. Thank all the staff for their exceptional service.
