Having stayed purely for the aesthetic (no shame), I loved it! If you love curated spaces/interesting decor, are looking for walkability around downtown Wilmington, it's a great choice. I chose our room specifically for the bathtub, and thoroughly enjoyed a long soak followed by sharing a bottle of wine on the wrap around front porch. The room-matching essential oil diffuser blends were a unique touch, and it was nice to start the day with coffee & avegan breakfast toasts/smoothies (bring your own cream if almond or coconut milk doesn't cut it for you!). I'd happily stay again! There is a vibe of being a houseguest without a host, as while the common spaces are beautiful, they felt a bit like a library, as we and the other guests we ran into seemed to tip toe around speaking in hushed voices, and not lingering. I'm completely fine with this, but I think it's worth knowing that it's a quiet, museum like home, not a concierge serviced hotel.

Everything was amazing. If you were looking for a laid-back, non-commercial, clean, and personal stay, this is the place! From the beautiful surroundings to the friendly staff, I have no complaints. I was with my daughter for a business meeting and the two nights we stayed were just lovely!

All in all I enjoyed my stay! The house is lovely and the details were nice. When I walked in I was welcomed with the calming smell of incense. The defused in me room sadly wasn’t working though and breakfast wasn’t ready till 8:30. Also felt like there could have been more for breakfast considering the price. There was only granola, fruit, and biscuits and VERY little jam.

This place is a must-stay! The house is so homey and the hosts are so welcoming and thoughtful. Our room was incredible! The bed is extremely comfy and the hosts have thought through everything that made our stay comfortable and memorable. The gardens around the property are magical and the breakfast/coffee was delicious! Thank you!

This was from top to bottom a truly unique and very cool surprise. The house is different in the best way, the people could not have been nicer, and the location is 2 blocks off my favorite restaurants, shops, and fun in Wilmington.I can't say enough about how happily surprised and one of a kind experience I had when wanted to just get away from the same 4 walls on the fly.Check them out! Even if the set up is for some reason not your style, you will absolutely meet some of the nicest young people who made it happen and created an original vision in town with unique history of it's own.WELL DONE DREAMERS!I WILL SEE YOU SOON!

We’re in Paris! Nope. We’re actually in Uptown, Charlotte, NC! I have stayed here a handful of times and it’s always great. The Ivey's Hotel, a premier five-star boutique experience in Charlotte, NC, is situated in the heart of Uptown. It’s a high-design, modern spot with timeless art within a historic building, delivering a very boutique stay. Its steps away from some of Charlotte's esteemed venues, museums and dining spots, with easy access to the city's business and sports districts. There are 47 exquisitely-designed hotel rooms, blending Parisian-style elegance with modern luxury. The Library Lounge offers an intimate space for gathering or enjoying a glass of wine.Favorite hotel in Charlotte!

My husband and I loved our stay at The Ivey's Hotel. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted and helped with check in. My husband is part of a rewards program through American Express, so our room was automatically upgraded. We stayed in a Balcony Suite. The room featured a city view. The bathroom had a spa vibe and was stocked with Mistral Soap products. We recommend The Ivey's for anyone seeking a romantic getaway!!

This hotel is beautiful and some of the staff are wonderful. My husband and I got engaged here and last January and planned to do a hotel block for our wedding here. We contacted sales multiple times and never got a response so booked somewhere else. We wanted to do our first look at the hotel and unless we were guests at the hotel they were going to charge us $350 for 30 minutes in Sophia’s lounge during there off time. We booked the hotel as it has a special place in our hearts. Our wedding was this weekend and they promised us a special surprise in our room for our wedding night. Nothing was in our room. I understand this is a business but seems like they just want to squeeze every dime out of people.

What a perplexing experience. This was booked for an organization board retreat, in which we nearly bought out the a significant majority of the property for three nights (31/46 rooms). The rooms are notably upscale decor and there is due attention to small details. For the rooms, including the comfort of the beds, cleanliness daily, and peaceful quiet at nights, definite 5 stars. But…The check-in was less than enthusiastic and despite repeated “checking back” inquiries, it took our meeting organizer to flex some attention to a timely check-in for our meeting agenda. If you enjoy getting stuck in an elevator, they advertise it is over a century old and when I did unexpectedly get stuck, fortunately without a hint of claustrophobic concern, the staff seemed nonchalant at best. Quaint history doesn’t work on such conveyances if heavy luggage up/down stairs is the necessary reality here. The housekeeping and meal service folks are wonderful. It is odd and audibly jarring however when the noises involved in daily operations around the main hallway are a few decibels shy of VERY LOUD. In short, the polar opposite of the rooms.Lastly, it took FIVE phone calls to get a copy of my folio for reimbursement purposes. You will not get a copy until they do a “walk through” after your departure. Despite all “I’ll send that by email” comments, such never came and on the fifth call, I was told “the system has a lot of stuff in it so sometimes it doesn’t actually send emails.” Uh huh.So, for the experienced travelers that do enjoy boutique hotel properties, I’d simply say this: the rooms are truly nice and the notably inconsistent service should lead you to pass and explore other options in Charlotte. Honestly, it’s a shame ownership isn’t more observant of its service personnel and infrastructure.

I'm no stranger to boutique hotels. This one, is amongst the best. You'll be greeted like family, treated like royalty. Don't forget to stop and have a cocktail in that amazing bar. This place gets two enthusiastic thumbs up. Great management, great staff. See for yourself. Sure, the big brand hotels are appealing because of their familiarity, but these places you haven't heard of, provide what the big names don't. See for yourself, you won't regret it.
