We had a delightful stay at The Setting Inn. Mel, the general manager, went above and beyond in allowing us to use the barn lounge to play catch-up with our college kids who we were visiting. The accommodations were fabulous—the bed super comfortable, the heated bathroom floor a luxurious surprise. Thanks again for such an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

We had this place booked b/c The Allison was full for the last night of our stay. We heard some negatives from 2 different local vineyard owners so we read the reviews, and we drove by and decided it wasn't for us. We called and they said, "no problem, you can cancel, you won't be charged". Got home and of course we were charged. Now they site "policy". Not good business. Had they told us we couldn't cancel we likely would have stayed there, not sure when you consider the other reviews that site smelly sheets, morning noise, etc etc. At any rate, I can't speak to actually staying there, that would be lying but I can say that you should be 100% committed b/c if they get your card, it will be charged.

It would be a solid 4 stars if it wasn't for the main Suite. Located directly under the working quarters your morning begins at 7:30am sharp with foot steps, drawers slamming, and occasional singing. The singing part was okay, it just would have been nice to have the opportunity of waking up peacefully our own.

This is a gorgeous luxury inn located in the heart of the wine region. It's a convenient drive to the wineries--too many to see in one visit. Breakfast is delivered to your door every morning; it's fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to your day. A Nespresso coffee machine is in your room, so you can have your coffee as soon as you wake up. Our room was appointed with all high-end products, the grounds were immaculately groomed, and the patio was perfect for sitting and sipping. My two favorite parts of the inn were the water fountain on the patio and the moss garden wall in the barn. What sets this inn apart, however, are the inn-keepers Vince and Fabio. They met us upon arrival, carried our bags up stairs to our room, and continued to make sure we were happy during our stay. They are truly gifted and fun hosts! Thank you, Vince and Fabio for making our stay in the Setting Inn the best ever!

I booked a room here the weekend I proposed to my significant other. The experience was great for the price. The hotel property is a gem that I hope continues to be well cared for long into the future. The hotel is very well appointed and curated. The decor is tasteful, and extremely welcoming. The hotel room was clean, though aging but understandably. We stayed in room #830. Cracks in the drywall in the bathroom ceiling and a strong smell of mildew. Room was large, and the bed was rather nice. Pillows and bedsheets were clean and enjoyable. Walk in closet was extremely large. Mini fridge and safe were cleverly hidden in the tv stand. Plenty of wall sockets and several USB ports for charging devices. Ordered breakfast from Gracie's the next morning. Food was great. Although extremely surprised the hotel has a restaurant clearly in the lobby, but doesn't provide room service. Not sure what that's about... Post COVID lack of staff? Management needs to fix this. There is absolutely zero excuse for no room service. The restaurant is inside the hotel lobby and is clearly a very central part of the hotels business. The hotel staff were all great, except for the gentleman we checked out with this morning. He was dismissive and acted like we were bothering him. Someone is clearly having a bad morning.... But not me or my new fiancee!!! ~holla~

We stayed for 3 nights. The Wi-Fi went down on the third night at around 11pm! When asked, they said there’s nothing they could do about it until morning. That was unpleasant. Also, on the second day I requested the front-staff for some housekeeping. I was told off by a very rude employee that housekeeping requests are to be made 24 hours in advance. I’ve personally never heard of that before. Rooms are super small and old. Id say this is a 2 star at best and overpriced.

We stayed at the Hotel DeLuxe for three nights and apart from the size of the room, it was anything but deLuxe. It reminded us of The Grand Budapest Hotel in terms of it being long past its heyday. The lady that checked us in was not all friendly and this set the tone for the rest of our stay. The room was dirty and the furniture was worn and damaged. Our room was opposite a large construction site which was noisy and from the size of the hole in the ground, is going to be on site for the next couple of years. The ice machine was very dirty and desperatley needs cleaning out. There was only one lift in opperation for the duration of our stay so it took a long time to get in/out.The hotel charged us over $100 in 'aminity fees' for 3 nights - I have no idea what this is supposed to include. The hotel was unable to provide us with a bill when we checked out and no one asked us how our stay was. When we left, there was a homeless person wielding a large pair of scissors/shears around on the pavement which was scary.Overall, we were dissapointed.

This 100 year hotel is a gem! It is a quick ride to Washington Park and the perfect place to drop in for a night of relaxation. Between the old Hollywood theme, the indulgent Driftwood Lounge, and the attention to creature comforts throughout, you will not be disappointed. Best of all are the amazing staff, who truly shone during my stay.

FAQs about romantic getaways in Oregon

What are the typical price ranges for hotels suited for romantic getaways in Oregon?

Hotels in Oregon catering to romantic getaways vary widely in price, depending on location, amenities, and time of year. On average, prices can range from $150 per night for boutique accommodations to over $400 per night for luxury resorts offering comprehensive amenities like spas, fine dining, and private experiences. Coastal properties and vineyard estates might be on the higher end due to their sought-after settings and exclusive services. Budget-conscious couples can find charming B&Bs and inns that offer a cozy atmosphere without the luxury price tag, especially in off-peak seasons.

When is the best time to visit Oregon for a romantic getaway?

The ideal time for a romantic getaway in Oregon depends on your interests. Summer (June to August) offers warm weather and the broadest array of outdoor activities, making it perfect for beach trips and hiking. However, it’s also peak tourist season, so expect higher prices and busier locales. Fall (September to November) is fantastic for wine lovers wanting to experience the harvest in the Willamette Valley, with the added bonus of vibrant autumn foliage. For those who enjoy cozy, rainy weather and indoor pursuits like wine tasting or spa visits, winter (December to February) provides a quieter and often more affordable getaway.

What amenities should we look for in a hotel to enhance our romantic getaway in Oregon?

For an enhanced romantic experience, look for hotels offering amenities such as in-room fireplaces, private balconies with views, couples’ spa treatments, and gourmet dining options. Many romantic hotels also offer special touches like rose petal turndown services, champagne upon arrival, and private hot tubs. Ensure the hotel has a quiet, intimate setting—secluded properties or those with adult-only policies often provide a more tranquil atmosphere. Choosing a hotel with these amenities will add a luxurious and personalized touch to your romantic getaway.

Are there any unique romantic experiences offered by hotels in Oregon’s coastal regions?

Oregon’s coastal hotels often provide unique romantic experiences that take full advantage of the stunning natural surroundings. Look for properties offering private beach bonfires, including all the necessities for a cozy evening under the stars. Some hotels arrange guided beach horseback rides or private sunset sailing excursions. For a truly memorable experience, consider hotels that can arrange a helicopter tour over the dramatic coastline, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and rugged cliffs—a spectacular way to make your romantic getaway unforgettable.
