Just reminiscing about my stay in Charleston in January, and was surprised to find I didn't leave a review for this place. It was excellent. Don't sleep on this hotel. Meals were great, location excellent, staff was phenomenol. I haven't stayed anywhere else in Charleston, but I'd be hard pressed to find a better option. If I go back, I'm not shopping around, I'm staying here. End of story

My bride and I spent 4 days at this lovely boutique hotel. We had a large, charming suite that was spotless. An excellent location for exploring all that the historic district has to offer. Breakfast, evening wine and cheese, late night cookies, all with great attention to detail and service. Simply could not ask for more. Highly recommend.

Historic hotel, artsy! Pet and people friendly ?Rooms have paper thin walls because this building was not designed to be hotel initially. I did not sleep well there. Hotel is beautiful with lots of art and close to many downtown destinations. Staff is helpful and kind. The one off was a woman with walker who was not happy when I asked her for warm water for tea at 10pm at front desk. There is bar on first floor but no one goes there and there is never a bartender there. Parking is convenient right across the street. If I slept better my rating would be higher but I slept horribly there when the guy next door was waking up 430 and slamming doors and you can hear the shower running.

My mother was visiting for the weekend, and we decided to do a staycation in Downtown Charleston. I don't have enough good things to say about this hotel! The location is ideal, as you can walk to just about everything on the lower peninsula. The rooms were top-notch, and the beds were comfy. The staff were all thoughtful and looked after all of the guests. Breakfast is included in your stay, and was delicious. I would recommend The Loutrel to anyone coming to visit the city!

For me, great service at a luxurious hotel, with updated, beautiful rooms, and fantastic amenities is THE DEFINITION of vacation. I spend hours researching hotels and resorts all over the world. This hotel absolutely did not disappoint. If you are searching for luxury, comfort, five-star service, hospitality, beautiful, bright, spaces, and just an overall awesome place to stay in the perfect location, look no further. We had a Traditional King room. The mattress was perfect - firm but not too hard, and I did not wake up sore (I almost always do at hotels), the pillows were firm and matched the mattress well, too. The room was spacious, well-designed, high-ceilings, awesome light fixtures, artwork, bathroom (there's even a Dyson hairdryer), and one of the best parts, all of the mini-bar snacks are FREE. Cold Fiji water greeted me every time I came back to the room. A selection of sodas, lemonades, and cold brew coffee (very good cold brew coffee) were provided. Wine glasses, a wine key, a coffee maker, etc. rounded out a beautiful bar area. The snacks were complimentary throughout the hotel and featured local brands, and included some gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. In the evening, the hotel also has an evening happy hour where you can enjoy a complimentary cocktail, glass of wine, or mocktail and chat with other guests in the lounge. My husband and I really enjoyed this opportunity to connect with others and ask the extremely hospitable hotel staff their recommendations for best food, best bars, best tours -- you name it. The valet was always available with our car whenever we needed it. I have really high standards when it comes to hotels and The Loutrel matched or EXCEEDED them all.

This upscale hotel is located in the French Quarter next to the City Market. Food, shopping on King Street, the historical district and water front area are all in close walking distance. The hotel is beautiful and luxurious with all the amenities you'd expect. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Daily breakfast was perfect and yummy as well as the evening cocktail hour. The room was large, lovely, and comfortably well appointed. Highly recommend The Loutrel.

My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary and we LOVED every minute of our stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Marc was helpful showing me the difference in the room types. Bed is very comfortable, we had small balcony, and tub. The hotel is in walking distance to everything. One of the perks is ALL the drinks in your room fridge are complimentary! I definitely recommend booking this hotel and would stay here again!
