I really loved Prospect and I would not hesitate to stay here again. As an overseas tourist, it was my first time visiting this city. To have spent the first few nights here provided me with what I would describe as the classic LA experience. I only wished I had booked a longer stay. The location is excellent and I would say it's close to all the attractions most tourists would be looking to explore. I loved the rooms and the decor. Staff were so professional, courteous and attentive. I was surprised by how quiet it was as well. The bed was just right and I slept like a log. The courtyard was the perfect quiet antidote to the hectic energy of Hollywood Boulevard, which I found a bit overwhelming at times. So I spent a fair bit of time in the courtyard just to unwind. I'm not much of a photographer but have attached some photos of that lovely area. Well done to the owners who have put a lot of thought in to this place.

I was so excited to write about this place because it’s one of the best we have stayed in Cali. The service was exceptional, I called and inquired about a possible early check in and the lady was so helpful and polite (Keke is her name I believe). Then we were greeted by another gentleman (Key) at the front desk who parked our car, helped with luggage and showed us around! The room was clean and smelled amazing! I love the quirkiness of everything and the courtyard is such a hidden gem. I would stay here over and over again! Thank you for making the last day of our vacation so awesome!

There really isn’t a single reason not to stay here.Spotless and clean. Gorgeous Hollywood themed rooms. Squeaky clean bathrooms. Fabulous showers with great water pressure. Comfortable bed.You will leave feeling pampered and cared for.Highlight of our stay was Bolo, the neighbor’s dog coming into our room to say hello. We were really missing our dog so running after Bolo as he ran off with a sock was the sweetest thing to happen. We loved that the hotel is so loved by the community and neighborhood. Kindness and community is celebrated here and you feel it from all staff. It was a treat to stay here. This was our first family vacation in 14 years and we are so glad it was here at the Prospect.

Hotel was excellent. I slept fantastically and enjoyed the spacious bathroom and pool upstairs. The view up there is next level. Service was also top notch. I found the food underwhelming / lacked flavor, so was slightly disappointed with it considering the price. However, lots of options right in the hotel .

Very swanky hotel. Neat design and architecture, and very clean. Services team was very helpful. Would recommend that the hotel doesn’t use body products with known allergens. Have a gluten allergy and was shocked to learn after realizing I was in a flare (eat very cleanly) that the lotion has wheat in it. Should’ve done more due diligence on reading labels but was not expecting that at an upscale hotel, and especially not one in LA of all places.

The DTLA Proper is a visually stunning hotel. The curated design and complimenting art work are beautiful. The overall aesthetic is quite pleasing. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in and throughout the stay. At check-in the amenities were well explained and in our room we found a personalized note, chocolate and plenty of bottle water. The room was on the cozier side but it was large enough for our stay and the bathroom was beautiful. The white tile and fixtures makes it very easy to see how clean it is. Overall a wonderful stay.

One of the very best Marriott brand hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Nice room and I slept well each night. The staff was extremely friendly. There are 2 restaurants and both are excellent. I particularly enjoyed the rooftop, outdoor restaurant. The hotel was about a 20 minute walk from my work meetings each day, which were near the Intercontinental hotel. The walk seemed safe and was east to do. All in all, a perfect hotel for this work trip and a truly exceptional hotel in the Marriott brand.

FAQs about Los Angeles boutique hotels

What is the typical price range for boutique hotels in Los Angeles?

Boutique hotel prices in Los Angeles can vary significantly depending on the location, amenities, and season. On average, you can expect to pay between $200 to $500 per night for a boutique hotel. However, luxurious options in prime areas may cost more, while smaller boutique hotels in less touristy neighborhoods may offer more budget-friendly rates. To get the best value for your stay, consider booking during the shoulder seasons of spring and fall when prices tend to be lower, or keep an eye out for special promotions and packages offered by boutique hotels throughout the year.

When is the best time to visit Los Angeles for a boutique hotel experience?

The ideal time to visit Los Angeles for a boutique hotel experience is during the spring and fall months. From March to May and September to November, the weather is pleasant, and hotel rates are often more reasonable than during the peak summer season. Additionally, Los Angeles sees fewer crowds during these shoulder seasons, allowing for a more relaxed and intimate stay at boutique hotels. However, if you prefer warmer weather and don’t mind higher prices and larger crowds, the summer months of June to August can also be a great time to visit the city.

Do boutique hotels in Los Angeles offer discounts for extended stays or group bookings?

Many boutique hotels in Los Angeles do provide discounts for extended stays or group bookings. If you plan to stay for an extended period or are traveling with a group, it’s a good idea to inquire about special rates and packages directly with the boutique hotels you’re interested in. Some may offer reduced nightly rates for longer stays, while others could have group rates or tailored packages that include additional perks or services. By discussing your specific needs with the hotel’s reservation team, you can often find cost-effective options for your extended stay or group getaway in Los Angeles.
