My husband and I stayed in the Juliette Low room at The Gastonian in Savannah, GA.The room smelled old and drab. Furnishings were worn. The old claw foot tub was in rough shape. I thought one of us might end up in the room below us. It buckled if you stood in the center.Gas fireplace did not look safe to cut on.Because it is an old home there isn't an elevator and the floors creak a lot. We had heavy walkers above us. I was wakened by their footsteps morning and night. On a positive note, the employees provided wonderful customer service and the location was great. Close to the epicenter of downtown.

So charming. Such a friendly and helpful staff. Room was spacious and had all the comforts of home. Breakfast that changes daily…Wine and bites at 5, dessert from 8-10. Bikes available. We borrowed beach chairs to take to the park concert. Would def stay here again. Loved!

Wonderful hospitality at The Gastonian! The mansion itself is beautiful, stately and located on a quiet residential street not far from the Bull Street corridor, a few blocks from Forsyth Park. We stayed in the Flannery O'Connor room, and found it spacious and attractive. The bathroom was quite large with both shower and a large tub. While the room was nicely appointed and quite comfortable, it was the service we received from the staff that made our stay so special. Courteous, professional and accommodating, everyone there made us feel welcome and taken care of. We took advantage of the hors d'oeuvres and wine served late afternoon in the lovely parlor, as well as the dessert and port offered later in the evening. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and the care that the chef and staff took to make sure we enjoyed every bite was really very special. We will definitely return!

The staff are warm and welcoming, and consistently go above and beyond to give you great service. The Oglethorpe Suite was worth the extra money, since we had two working fireplaces that we enjoyed nightly. They gave you a menu to fill out for breakfast the night before. The choices were always nice: lemon ricotta pancakes, blueberry french toast, shrimp and grits, custom omelet, biscuits, fruit, tea, coffee, juice etc. SO nice and personal. They gave great recommendations for activities and food. The neighborhood was gorgeous and I could wander around there for hours. This was an easy-going, nice place to stay. The happy hour selections were wonderful and the dessert hour was great too. Go ahead and book this place! You will not be sorry!

We are beyond satisfied with our stay at Hamilton-Turner Inn. The room was cozy and clean. When we walked in there were chocolates on our bed. The parlor is beautiful! The staff are friendly, warm, hospitable and welcoming. There is someone there 24/7. We felt very safe! The chef is INCREDIBLY talented. The breakfast was exceptional every single morning! There is coffee and tea in the morning. Water infused with fruits available all day. Fresh cookies were served in the afternoon and evening. Appetizers and wine prepared in the evening! The location is superb! We will definitely stay there again when we visit Savannah!

We had a lovely weekend getaway at the Hamilton-Turner Inn. We were a late arrival (after midnight) and the woman at the front desk was waiting with a friendly greeting for us and to get us checked in. Bailey, our breakfast server, was attentive and personable. My compliments to the chef…breakfast was 5-star and really delicious! Tim, the innkeeper, made excellent recommendations for dinner. The room was comfortable and spacious. You’ll love the high arched doorways, the large mirrors and murals, the original wood floors. Each room is unique with its own romantic charm that will capture your heart. You won’t be disappointed with your choice if you stay at the Hamilton-Turner Inn!

Recently stayed here and I absolutely loved it! The decor and overall southern charm that the house exuded was top tier! Our room was beautiful and very comfy. My only issue would be the staff, they definitely did not match the vibe of this place and there was not much love, southern hospitality coming from them. I asked if they do anything for Birthday guests and they said no. Would of been nice to have something as small as a cupcake or a candle. idk! I've stayed at B&Bs before where they make sure to spoil you on your day and make it a memorable one. With the price of this place you would think they'd go above and beyond with service and attention to detail.

Truly the finest bed and breakfast in Savannah! We live in Savannah and stayed there for our daughter's wedding weekend. Our church, the Cathedral Basilica of St John the Baptist was right next door and it made everything so easy. The rooms in the inn are comparable to a five star hotel, the breakfast is fabulous, and everything is simply beautiful. Once our wedding photographer took one look at the inn, she decided to take several of the photos there. We will definitely return for a staycation soon!

This was our second time staying at Hamilton. Our second stay was far less enjoyable as the experience was drastically different. To start, pillows were horrible as they were flat as a pancake. This bed and breakfast has something called happy hour which they serve light snacks with wine. It seemed like they rationed out the snacks as you were questioned when you wanted more. Lastly, breakfast was the same way. They only served "ONE" bacon with their breakfast per person, and when I asked for more, there didn't have any. This was very frustrating as it also felt like food was rationed out again. In the earlier years, they would have a small buffet of baked goods with fruit etc. None of these options were available this time around. It seemed like they were trying to save a few buck, but all these added to our lack of a better experience. It's a great place to stay as I love the house, location and history, but the issues mentioned above yearned us for wanting more. So needless to say, we'll be looking elsewhere next time around.

FAQs about Savannah boutique hotels

What is the typical price range for boutique hotels in Savannah?

Boutique hotels in Savannah cater to a range of budgets, with prices typically starting from around $150 to upwards of $400 per night. Factors influencing the cost include the hotel’s location, historical significance, and the amenities offered. More luxurious and centrally located hotels, especially those in the Historic District, tend to be on the higher end. However, more affordable boutique options are also available, particularly during off-peak seasons or outside the main tourist areas, providing the charm and personalized experience of boutique accommodations without a hefty price tag.

When is the best time to visit Savannah for a boutique hotel stay?

The ideal time to visit Savannah for a boutique hotel stay is during the spring (March to June) and fall (September to November). These seasons offer pleasant weather, making it comfortable to explore the city’s beautiful parks and historic streets. Spring brings vibrant azaleas and other blooms, while fall showcases lovely foliage. Avoiding the hot and humid summer months and the cooler winter period also means you can enjoy more of the city’s outdoor attractions and events in comfort.

Are boutique hotels in Savannah affordable during popular events and festivals?

While prices for boutique hotels in Savannah can rise during popular events like St. Patrick’s Day or the Savannah Music Festival, affordable options are still available. Booking well in advance is recommended to secure the best rates. Consider staying slightly outside the busiest areas for more competitive pricing, and keep an eye out for special promotions or packages offered by hotels during these peak times. Some boutique hotels might offer deals that include special amenities or discounts on extended stays, adding value to your visit during these bustling periods.
