Just spent 5 nights at this beautiful hotel. The location is superb. The service is outstanding. The interior of the hotel is beautifully decorated. The restaurant has delicious food. The only thing that I didn’t care for, and it was a big deal to me, is that the smoke alarm is right over the bed and has 2 very bright green lights that blink on and off during the night, which was sheer torture when trying to sleep. When I complained to the front desk, they said that all of their rooms are designed that way so they couldn’t move us to a different room to remedy the situation. So for this reason alone, even though everything else was perfect, I won’t be back to this hotel. I’ve stayed at many many hotels and I’ve never encountered this problem. In my opinion, it’s a terrible design flaw.

The good: true to the photos, the space is gorgeous and the location fantastic. It’s an oasis in a concrete jungleThe bad: booked terrace room. Arrived early and inquired of option for early check in. Room wasn’t available yet so we had a meal in the restaurant. Two hours later- still no luck.Left to walk the park, returned- still not ready.4:30pm with a 5pm dinner reservation pre-paid and our room still not ready with no chance of making dinner on time. (wet from rain no ability to change). The staff did not seem to communicate from one shift to the next, but the manager stepped in and got us a room to shower and change so we could make our broadway show.We travel a considerable amount and this is our first experience with a hotel not having our room available. Our initial impression was corrected with outstanding service subsequently by the management and staff.Would definitely stay here again. Also, the restaurant was an understated culinary gem. Every one of our meals surprised us with exceeding expectations.

We had an excellent stay at 1 Hotel Central Park this weekend. The staff is friendly and professional, the common spaces are beautiful and tranquil, and the rooms comfortable and relaxing. Location can't be beat, just 2 blocks from Central Park, Bergdorf's, 5th Ave shopping, etc. The icing on the cake is this hotel is very pet friendly. We were able to bring our 11 year old hound with us on the stay. They didn't charge extra for a pet (very rare in NYC -- usually you're charged $100+ a night) and that is candidly why we chose this hotel over the rest. On principle, we love that they don't charge extra for fur-babies so we wanted to support the business. Just a lovely place! You won't regret staying at 1 Hotel Central Park.

First, very good service! From the security to the managers. Everyone is so nice, attentive, friendly, young and fun!The room isn’t that big but very functional and properly done. It has lots of wood and soft warm textures. What I like the most is the shower which is so spacious and made of very thick glass and marble.I was also pleasantly surprised to see glasses made out of recycled wine bottles, stones on magnets, piece of wood to put on top stuff we would leave for the charity, for explanation how to use coffee machine on napkins and even calling a yoga mat as “portable ommm”.Also every week they organize events for the hotel visitors, provide some complimentary additions to the room. I had a chance to use infrared blanket one day which was so relaxing after a long day.The gym equipment is very modern and high end, high quality! I would just make it bigger with more diverse equipment. But I understand the space in NYC is very limited. Also they are pet friendly. I was staying with my cat and had no issues with that.

A lot to say about this 1 hotel...Let s start with the room:The famous" Park View" room has a very thin green band of the central park. A more accurate name for the room would be: "scaffolding view" as the workers renovating the building in front had a magnificent view of our room.We did agree with them to say that the interior design of the room is beautiful. Then the location:This is clearly the highlight of this place. Well located, easy to access. It s THE positive point of this hotel. Finally, all of this can be outcome with a good customer service. Unfortunately, they must have been away and replaced with interns during our stay. The staff did not explain anything when we check in, was barely aware of their own offering. (They charged us for all the drinks and food we already paid for in our hotel package, you better check the bill)The dine-in option is linked to a restaurant that is as aware of these packages yhan the hotel staff, hence you need to explain them every single time... not what you want to do when you are on holiday, right? Finally, the highlight is in the details. In 5 night, 1 Hotel managed to make us feel safe. They proved us that their fire alarm system is working. Nothing like an actual demo, hence we got 2 nights with this lovely alarm ringing at 2-3 AM.Always a good reason, even if a water leaking is rarely a cause of fire...Do not hesitate to go their, and you do not even need to plan for anything in New York, they will occupy you with a lot of impromptu activities!

I didn’t stay here luckily but my experience of the rooftop bar staff was nothing short of awful. We arrived and went inside the hotel and waited by the lift to head upstairs, to which we were told if we weren’t a hotel guest we would need to go outside and round the corner to queue by the side of the hotel. We walked outside and luckily saw there was no queue so continued to wait for 15 minutes before we were seen to. He arrived and let us in but then thought it would be hilarious to say that we needed to go all the way back to the front of the hotel, inside, and up the lift to the rooftop bar. At this point we were very confused and displeased but we started walking towards the front of the hotel again. They then laughed out loud, called us back and said they were joking. As I turned around I saw that he was filming us and laughing, which I’m sure breaks GDPR guidelines. Really unprofessional and pretentious staff. Cocktail was ok but way overpriced and the barman was rude as well. The best thing was the view but I’m sure you can find just as good views at other rooftop bars that offer a good service!

My partner and I had a great time at the Public. It's such an architecturally gorgeous building with so many pretty features. The lobby, lounge, room, were all so unique..This hotel is so cool I used the opportunity to propose to my now fiancé in the courtyard. Will never forget our experience there and hopefully get to come back soon.

I’m currently sitting on their beautiful Rooftop; enjoying my last night in NYC. They have a quiet section of the rooftop just for hotel guests to make us feel like VIPs! Let’s review the beginning of our stay. Our check ins were easy, they didn’t have key cards left on the self check in counter; but a staff member was quick on refilling these for us and even offered to load up the code to our key cards. The room was perfectly displayed- identical to their website, and I absolutely love the shower! Every staff member I encountered has been polite, courteous and helpful. But I must highlight their superstar- Dante! His bubbly personality, quick resolution to our concerns regarding check out is the cherry on top of our stay. His hospitality and warm personality has guaranteed my future stay at this hotel! Thank you so much, from your new Canadian friend.

Uncommon for me, but here goes: The hotel is a visual marvel, adorned with striking neon orange escalators that demand attention. My purpose for staying? Attending my sister's wedding, for which she had thoughtfully reserved a block of rooms. With the promise of self-check-in, our expectations were high. Yet, upon inputting my name into the system, a disheartening "Reservation Not Found" message greeted me. Seeking clarification, I engaged a staff member who kindly informed me of a 15 to 20-minute wait for resolution. As an hour passed, curiosity nudged me to inquire about the room's status. To my surprise, the front desk attendant conveyed that our room wasn't quite ready yet. Another hour and a half later, we were finally ushered into our assigned room. The staff member's explanation centered around the challenges posed by a new system implementation, highlighting their ongoing learning curve.Walking into the room, an unexpected twist awaited us. Our request for two double beds had somehow transformed into a queen room featuring a pull-out couch. Regrettably, the couch was bare, devoid of sheets, pillows, or a comforter. A swift call to the front desk resulted in sheets and pillows, but the absence of a comforter posed a lasting conundrum. The day of the wedding brought us to the hotel's dining options. Here, the experience took an unforeseen turn. Prices appeared exorbitant, and the culinary offerings fell short of expectations. The sandwich I selected turned out to be a test of determination, and the pizza bore the unfortunate signs of age. Yet, the pangs of hunger managed to eclipse any culinary disappointment.Post-wedding, the realization of lost keys prompted a visit to the front desk. Here, the intrigue only escalated. The staff was adamant that we had been allocated a different room and even suggested that we had checked out. Despite their scrutiny of our information, their stance remained unswayed. Ultimately, the manager intervened, escorting us to our room sans replacement keys.In fairness, the room's modern and industrial design was a redeeming aspect, and the bathroom's spaciousness was commendable. The view from the room, too, contributed positively to the experience. However, the hotel's management left much to be desired. In light of the myriad challenges we encountered, I find myself inclined to recommend exploring alternative accommodations if feasible.

We had a small issue when checking in but thanks to Maggie, all were sorted very quickly. She also offered us $100 voucher for food and drinks. The rooms are very good size for NYC, very clean with comfortable bed. The highlight for me was the shower, the best I’ve seen in hotels yet. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar, drinks might be a bit expensive but worth the views and ambiance. Thanks again,
