We loved staying at the Black Hawk Motel. Check-in was smooth and the front desk attendant was kind. We spent most of our time doing things in town, but coming back to a warm and welcoming environment was the perfect end to the day. We spent some time in the hot tub, and would have used the sauna but couldn’t get it to heat up. No big deal! In the morning, our car battery was giving us trouble from the cold and the owner, Brad, helped us get it jumped! We were told it’s the last family owned motel in the area, and I hope it lasts for a while. We look forward to taking our family here in the coming years.
Such a cute little motel. I was only in the dells a day with my spouse and two kids and it worked perfectly. The guy who checked us in was really kind and helpful. Put us in a room right by the pool. The stay also came with the tickets to the haunted house and the wildlife center. We had a great quiet night sleep, everything we went to the next day was super close. We had planned to stay at a resort but those reviews were awful. I was hesitant to book a motel but so glad I did. It was a nice quaint stay and I know why their reviews were better than everywhere else.
We stayed the weekend and the guy that checked us in was a delight to chat with. We were able to check-in a little early. The room was clean & beds comfortable. Loved the indoor & outdoor heated pools. Also they offer some free passes to Dells activities. Pricing was reasonable and I'd definitely come back.
This place is number 1 in Wisconsin Dells for a good reason. Family owned and operated by a multi generational native local family. Perfectly clean and taken care of like a caring person would take care of their own family home. The big chain establishments give no comparison when you want a god, clean, quiet place to sleep. I definitely would go back and can highly recommend the Black Hawk. This is for you if you want to get away from the institutional chains and just want true American value.
The atmosphere here is so friendly! The staff is responsive, helpful, and nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. It’s close to downtown, I walked downtown from the hotel every day. The indoor and outdoor pools are clean and inviting. This was my first year here. I spoke to other guests hanging out at the pool, most have been coming here for years! I may need to make this an annual tradition too!
My Bestie's and I stayed August 19th-25th . This is the second time staying there. This is where we will stay everytime we come back the Dells. Awesome service from the office, and housekeepers . We love that they have a outdoor and indoor pools. We are ladies in our 50's. We prefer indoor if possible. Our room smelled great when we got into it. We are glad that parking is in front of the rooms. Our rooms was big. Thank you, to the office staff and housekeepers for making our stay wonderful ❤️ 😊
Our family had an excellent experience! The room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed both indoor and outdoor pools and the game room. Would definitely return!
We have family in the area and always try somewhere new to stay while visiting. This time we tried here since it was a quick trip. We were super pleased! Clean rooms and friendly staff! Plus loved being right across the street from Kwik Trip for late night snacks!
Very charming independent motel at a very reasonable price. Family owned and the owner checked me in and he was very nice and helpful. I’m glad I chose this place over some chain.
This Motel is literally the best place to stay at in Wisconsin Dells. You won't be disappointed. I have been staying at the hotel for 30+ years!!! It is a family owned business, and not owned by a corporation who doesn't care about you or your opinion. They have an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and hot tubs as well. Their pools are SO CLEAN! I'm definitely a germaphobe and usually won't use pools or hottubs, but they were exceptionally clean and I had no problem going in. They also didn't have the overwhelming "bleach/chlorine" smell. They also have an awesome arcade room and as well as a play area for the kids outside! 100% recommend EVERY TIME
The rooms are okay, pretty clean and air worked well keeping it cool. Some repairs needed, our bathroom door was to warped to close. Most rooms are not near the pool, need to cross a street to get to it.
Great little get away. Rooms were a little small, but if you are in the Dells, you are not there to stay in your room. Room was clean, price was excellent, location was walking distance to the tourist strip. Best room value on our entire trip. Staff were great and very friendly. Garry & Debbie
This was a fun experience! This motel had all the old-school motel nostalgia but was updated to not feel cringey. The room looked very clean and freshly painted. The jacuzzi looked brand new. We had a date night in the Dells and this was the perfect place for us to stay. We would love to come back with the kids sometime and try out the pool etc.
We really enjoyed this motel. We would LOVE to stay again but the beds are very uncomfortable. Both myself and my boyfriend experienced terrible back pain from them and it's quite disappointing since everything else was awesome! Friendly staff, good cleaning service, room size was perfect for a quick get away, TV access and choices are good. Overall good stay but sadly wont be back due to the beds.
I found the hotel room very clean. The area was very clean and child friendly I would definitely recommend for some one to stay here. At night not a bunch of noise. U are a little ways from downtown so less traffic and noise but downtown is walkable. I would definitely stay at this location again. Nice pools and play ground
Nice place to go. We stayed in a cottage with a king bed/Jacuzzi tub. Tub was big. There was a little heater in the bathroom which was awesome cause it kept the toilet toasty warm . Parking was right outside the door. No stairs to climb. The pool was right across the street so we didn't have to go far. Pool was fairly empty so it was a pleasant time. They also had a hot tub and a sauna. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will be returning in the future. Receptionist at the desk was really nice. Only paid 111 on a Sunday night so not too bad!
Recently my daughter and I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. We had an unexpected emergency that changed our plans quite suddenly to say the least. I am forever grateful for the staff at the Drury they were helpful and compassionate and kind!! Angel at the front desk was so wonderful the moment we arrived and continued to be wonderful! Other staff were pleasant and I am sorry I don’t know their names but they were very helpful as well.. A huge shout out to Glen Lewis his compassion was so wonderful and calming. I would also like to acknowledge that the food was quite good and we ordered an amazing pizza for supper! It was a comfortable room and was quiet. We will keep the Drury as accommodations when I visit my daughter again! Once again thank you Angel and Glen you are amazing ❤️💝❤️ Robin and Olivia
The Milwaukee Drury Plaza is centrally located in the heart of downtown, a block away from the Milwaukee River. This location is well known for its complimentary breakfast and happy hour hors d’oeuvres. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and professional.
The regular rooms are comfy and clean, but not especially spacious. The bathrooms have plenty of space. The room features a refrigerator, a microwave, in-room single-cup coffee, ironing board and iron, and plenty of handy electrical outlets for charging. Complimentary WiFi was pretty good, but had choppy streaming of YouTube TV on my tablet.
The hotel is within walking distance of dozens of restaurants and pubs. Very nice hotel.
The Drury Plaza Hotel is the best hotel in Milwaukee! It is like a second home to us. From the welcome we get each time we arrive...The rooms are well appointed, bathrooms spotless with great showers. Breakfasts are just like Grandma used to make...full on with eggs, sausages, potatoes hot biscuits and even pancakes. Of course, if you a a light eater...cereal. Juice and hot coffee...milk for the kids...all at no charge! The late afternoon starts with three free drinks (alcohol), and enough food that going to restaurant is definitely out of the picture. Their buffet style service is amazing! Of course you could go light with corn chips and cheese dip or pop corn...even hot dogs! Again, at no extra charge. We enjoy stopping by the bar for a drink and yummy dessert of hot chocolate lava cake and vanilla ice cream after our evening out-and-about entertainment. The theater district is all within walking distance which is wonderful. The staff are super folks, friendly and caring. We wouldn't go anywhere else!
My first time staying at this property, but having stayed with Drury prior, I knew we would be well taken care of. The evening kickoff event and breakfast are such great value added amenities. Property is well maintained and clean. Being in the heart of Milwaukee, it is such a great location whether seeing a concert in one of the nearby theaters, or just sightseeing and shopping (Milwaukee public market is a 5 minute walk), we hardly took our car anywhere and just walked.
Drury is my # 1 hotel to stay at and this location is just as great as the rest. Given it’s downtown on a busy street, the one bit of advice I’d give is to request a room in the back of the hotel. The noise is much reduced compared to the rooms closer to the road. 10/10 recommend foregoing city view for quiet. The included kickback evening snacks (which is a full on meal) and drinks plus continental breakfast is like no other. The amount of food is insanity. You won’t walk away hungry or dissatisfied. This is what brings me back on top of the fantastic rooms, hospitality and service. Just wish there were more Drury hotels around the country! It’s always my first search when traveling.
We enjoyed our stay here at the hotel! Our room was very clean and I liked the interior design as well. Updated and modern. The beds were very comfy as well! I liked the free drink option in the evenings. The location is great and really close to the Riverwalk and clubs/bars in downtown Milwaukee. Staff were very friendly. Also LOVED the big full length mirror in the bedroom.
Great location, great friendly staff, decent pool and hot tub, nice hot breakfast with lots of options. Was surprised by and enjoyed the evening cocktail hour which included 3 alcoholic beverages per person and a selection of hot “snacks” (honestly, it was well enough for a full meal). It was a great hotel for traveling with the family. I could also see it being a great business travel hotel with the nice gym and the included meals. Only complaint is the pillows- the worst of any hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We recommend bringing your own if sleep is important to you.
Seemed a litte pricy when we booked, but the included dinner buffet (it was taco night when we stayed), 3 cocktails (rail, beer, or wine ), and full breakfast buffet made it a deal. We would have spent far more taking us and our kids out for those meals.
I took my 2 older kids to summer fest and booked this hotel last minute. I couldn’t say enough positive things about my stay. Everything was clean and the most important thing was the employees seemed happy. They were professional, helpful, and friendly. We stayed on the top floor which had amazing views! It was only a mile walk from summer fest. They provide complimentary breakfast, dinner, and adults get 4 free drinks!! If you are staying In Milwaukee stay at the Drury hotel! I’m
If I stay at Drury Plaza Milwaukee frequently it's because the staff are always great. And the rooms are super. Not pretentious but completely comfortable and impeccably clean. Even as a notoriously light sleeper I have always slumbered for hours longer than I would elsewhere staying there. Every room has a cool view. And the hotel's central location is so convenient. We love that Drury management selects old buildings and does a bang up job of rehabbing them, as they did in Milwaukee.
The rooms a bit small, comfortable beds, very clean. Pet friendly 50.00 nightly was a bit extreme, when there isnt any dog station around to let your dogs relieve themselves. parking 25.00 nightly was high. There is free drinks and breakfast and dinner, which was good.
Some of the features that were a game changer. After check in, you receive free happy hour 3 cocktails, or beer, with snacks. I.e. popcorn, Meatballs, veggies, potatoes, and other misc things. 5:30 to 7:30.
The pool and hot tub area was extremely clean as well. Open till ten Pm.
The hotel room looked brand new/clean.
I forgot my fan, so they brought one to my Room, I love it for the background noise!
The nostalgic area was super cool! 1800’s?!
Lots of professional people, business owners, and there was some kids too. So that was nice my son had someone to swim/play with.
The staff was professional and explained everything!
Breakfast was YUMMMM!
This is a definite must stay at hotel!, Very impressive!!!!!!
We loved everything about this hotel! It was new or newly renovated, very clean, incredibly convenient, staff was fabulous. Beds were comfy, shower was wonderful. Breakfast was fine, typical hotel breakfast. Will definitely stay again if back in Milwaukee.

Hotels in Wisconsin offering in-room jacuzzis can vary widely in price based on factors such as location, overall hotel luxury, and the season. Generally, budget and mid-range hotels might offer jacuzzi suites starting from $100 to $200 per night. Upscale and luxury establishments can charge upwards of $300 to $500 or more, especially in prime locations or during peak seasons.
