Explore Leesburg: Top Spots, Eats, and Hotel Picks

Leesburg is surrounded by wineries and stone walls–a countryside that makes you slow down without meaning to. The town mixes colonial-era streets with cozy cafés and shops tucked inside old brick buildings. And if you’re staying a night or two, there are great hotels with private hot tubs.

Attractions Worth Checking Out

Leesburg may be rooted in history, but its attractions keep things fresh and walkable. Morven Park is part museum, part mansion, and part quiet green space—with trails, gardens, and a grand estate that once housed a Virginia governor. Leesburg Historic Downtown is full of independent shops, restored buildings, and restaurants with patios that stay busy from brunch to sunset. Red Rock Wilderness Overlook Regional Park offers scenic trails with views of the Potomac River, easy enough for beginners, but rewarding at the top.

Where to Eat and Drink

Leesburg has a strong local food scene with restaurants that focus on seasonal ingredients, small-batch drinks, and quiet charm. For a romantic dinner, The Wine Kitchen serves small plates, curated wine pairings, and a rustic-chic space perfect for slowing down. For something casual, Fire Works Pizza has wood-fired pies and craft beer on tap, all in a lively downtown setting. Looking for something simple? South Street Under is a relaxed café with fresh sandwiches, baked goods, and a good cup of coffee.

Top Picks for Hotels with Hot Tubs in Room

Leesburg has a handful of comfortable hotels offering in-room hot tubs, all within reach of the area’s trails, wineries, and downtown.
Overall: Stone Manor Boutique Inn – Top-rated Leesburg hotel with colorful rooms, hot tub in room, private wooded valley, and mountain views.
Romantic: Hampton Inn & Suites Washington-Dulles International Airport – Just 2 miles from Dulles airport, this hotel comes with Jacuzzi in room, indoor pool, and free airport shuttle.

What a shame! The hotel is under construction, which we were not notified about until check in. The staff was great and explained what to expect so we agreed to stay—that’s where the good ended.
We got to our room that was 78° and turned on the air while we got unpacked. As we unpacked the kids noticed the air conditioning was pumping out heat despite being on cool. It then turned off and became entirely unresponsive. Also the newly installed tile was shattered (and very sharp!), carpet was pulled up around the heater, drywall was unfinished, paint was peeling, carpet was terribly stained, etc. I’d be embarrassed to be the contractor on this project. The room looked half finished. Their remodel is some new carpet and tile and a rough coat of paint (on the counters and furniture but not on the doors, those are still off white, damaged, and dirty) on some worn rooms from the 2000’s.

The one saving grace during our stay was an incredibly understanding and accommodating woman at the front desk who helped us get settled into another room where at least the AC worked. The service was the highlight of our stay, but I will look for another place to stay when we return to Leesburg.

This place is a disaster. And no disclosure was made as to the extent of the renovations that, based upon reviews from this SUMMER, have been taking place for months. You could hear the drilling, hammering, and yelling all the way from the third floor. I was in town for a wedding and the wedding party reserved a book of rooms at this hotel. They were not informed of the disruption in the hotel either- they are embarrassed. I was unable to spend time chatting in the lobby with other out-of-town guests. I had to leave after one night due to the construction and absolutely nothing is offered on behalf of the hotel or Booking.com. Never again Booking.com. Never again.

Our stay was a nice (the hotel was under construction, our choice) stay the management were accommodating. We were in town for a family formal wedding. Our room was clean fresh towels available as needed. Continental breakfast was nice and pricing is mid range.
Comfort Suites Leesburg Va. is actually in a great location, close to highway and interchange, plenty of food options fine dining downtown worth it, carryout and fast food. Outlet mall ( high end) excellent shopping not to mention historical sites.

My review is focused on the service we received. We stayed one night as a stop on our bike ride on the GAP trail and the C&O towpath. The day we stayed we rode much of the day in the rain and we and our bikes were very muddy.
The owner picked us up at Point of Rocks in the shuttle (standard service). When we got to the hotel he got a hose out so we could wash our bikes. He provided old towels for us to wipe bikes and ourselves off with. He provided us a secure fenced location for us to store our bikes.
When we were leaving to go to dinner he happened to be leaving for the day at the same time, he offered us a ride in his personal vehicle to our restaurant.
Every staff member I encountered was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Our room was not completely done being renovated but it was very clean.
The breakfast area was clean, well stocked and well maintained.

This hotel is a 3 star rated hotel but we experienced 5 star service.

My husband and I stayed at the Comfort Suites in Leesburg on the night of 9/14/24 as part of a room block for a friend's wedding. We checked into our room around 11pm. It was very clear, when we got off of the elevator that the hotel was under construction and/or renovations and, when we got to our room, there were no bedside tables and the table lamps were sitting on the floor. A minor inconvenience, but not a big deal to us, since we were only staying for one night. We stayed in the room all of 10 hours, 9 of which were spent sleeping, and left the next morning before the check out cutoff. Everything in the room was in working order when we left. I logged into my mobile banking today and found an extra charge from Comfort Suites on my credit card for $265. When I called the front desk to ask where the extra charge came from, they claimed that there was a big crack running through the TV the morning after we had checked out, and that we had been charged for a new TV. Now, my husband watched TV for a grand total of 30 minutes while we were there, and the TV was functioning totally normally and there were no cracks in it and none of our personal belongings ever collided with the TV screen in any way, shape, or form. When I requested to speak with someone higher up to dispute the charges (as we did not break the TV), the people at the front desk patched me through to their boss. He was not at his desk on a Monday during normal business hours and there was no opportunity to leave a message as his mailbox is full. When asked for a direct line for the number of the higher ups so that we can stop hounding the front desk about an issue that is not their fault, we were informed that there is no direct line. They did take our names and phone numbers so that he can give us a call back, but we are still waiting to hear from him. Therefore, my husband and I will be calling back every day until this issue is resolved. Needless to say, we will not be giving Comfort Suites any of our business moving forward.

As an aside, this review is being written on Google and not the hotel website (as I would have preferred to do), because we were never sent the customary email to review our experience on the website upon checkout. Just the cherry on top of this nightmare of an experience.

Room was pretty big, and was awesome. The only issue I had throughout my stay was horrendous WiFi, I couldn’t get any work done. The water pressure was also pretty bad. Would go somewhere else for the price.

I'm still a little shocked this place is open for business. The outside was filled with work trucks and shuttle busses. Entering we passed a room of painting and construction supplies and when we entered everything was dark. That should have been a flag but the room was prepaid, it was 45 mins until our event and we just wanted to relax.

Ummm. Once the elevator opened on the 3rd floor, we were greeted with unfinished walls, exposed electrical outlets and signs propped up on the floor. After standing in shock for a few minutes we saw the sign explaining that no construction was taking place and the rooms had been completed. Now we know why all the lights were off downstairs.

As we walked the hall looking for our room we noticed every door was dotted with 2 or 3 swipes of spackle. Almost as if a kid was playing prior to demolition. So we found the room - good news the key worked. We walked in to the darkness and I sniffed the musty-Ness. When I questioned aloud, "What's that smell" My kid promply answered , "Sadness". How appropriate was that description. Like we just walked into someone world of depression.

I immediately turned on all the lights and opened the blinds but I couldn't get the darkness out. I'm not sure what "finished" means to the people who wrote the sign but I never realized how amazing hotel art was until there was none. The room was bare, depressing, cold and yet still dirty. Stains on the floor and on the bathroom wall. Can't comment on the shower because we didnt use it. The beds were lumpy and for some reason the pillows were the size of throw pillows with folded over cases. We all had a hard time falling asleep due to the discomfort and overall creepiness of the place.

There was a note in the room about not getting room service for stays less than 3 days but somehow we had knocking on our door and someone yelling 'room service" at 8:30am. We tried to go back to sleep, missed breakfast [the girl at the front said it was 6-9 but I'm not sure I believe there was any]. At 11:02 we got a call that it was time to leave. I thought check out was 12pm, oops. Nothing was said when we arrived about wifi, breakfast hours, check out or housekeeping so I was just going by memory.

They did have a pool as stated but we looked in and noticed dit all over the bottom. My kids wouln't go in despite loving to swim.

I can't believe this place is open and taking people's money. The worst part was that I called for the reservation. I actually spoke to a person who was standing IN the "hotel" and he never mentioned oh btw we're in a renovating type process.

I've always stayed in radisons and tried to support choice hotels since they bought them out but this was about as disappointing as it gets. I have multiple photos that may or may not load because they're dark and hard to see.

This hotel should not be booking people at one-fifty a night when they are undergoing significant renovations. The location is typical of this type of hotel-surrounded by roads and parking lots but fine; and the lobby is small but adequate for the breakfast area. But when we went down the hall to take the elevator, the pool room was full of smoking construction workers running cement saws. I was ok with the pool renovation, but the smoke was wafting down the hall past the THIS IS A NO SMOKING HOTEL sign. We went up to the second floor and the elevator opened to a complete construction mess. All the walls were stripped down to rough and patchy drywall and the rooms had numbers taped into each door. Definitely felt like we were in the middle of an unfinished construction site. Hard to understand how Comfort Sites thinks it’s ok to rent rooms in this shape, why not renovate one floor at a time? When I asked about it at the desk he said he could move me to another floor but then admitted that floor too had been stripped to bare drywall. Our Room was clean and fine, bathroom had new tile floor but was otherwise a bit worn but clean. WiFi super slow. No shampoo or liquid hand soap in the dispensers. This place really needs work.

We stayed here one night on a recent trip to Leesburg for an event. There was a note on my confirmation that renovations were in progress. We stayed in a king suite and it was bigger than I had anticipated. I picked one of the only king room available so really I wasn’t expecting much other than the bed but it had a kitchenette and living space. The room was clean. Front desk staff here friendly and welcoming. There was some old furniture out behind the building we saw while looking for a parking spot but there were no obvious signs of construction inside that I noticed. It did smell like new carpet or paint. The location is convenient and from what I understand they have a shuttle that will take you into town - you might want to confirm that tho. I would stay here again if I’m the area.

I’ve had several spa services at the Spa Minerale located inside the resort with both my husband and my daughters. The massage therapists and aestheticians have all been consistently excellent and none of them talk to you during your service (unless you want to chat). The atmosphere and waiting lounge is comfy, clean and quiet and you are always offered Prosecco! For a luxury-type service, this is a great spot.

Lansdowne Resort was much needed for me. The spa was the highlight of my weekend getaway. My hot stone massage was absolutely amazing! I also loved the spa jacuzzi. The scenery was picturesque with views that reminded you of postcards. It was quiet and relaxing. Customer service was very friendly and professional. I also loved that the drive there was only an hour from my home. I do think the spa could use some major renovating, starting with the rooms. The beds are very hard, dressers are old, and our refrigerator had black mold. Also, the peephole on the door had been installed back ward. We couldn't see out, which was a safety concern since people could see us.

I took my daughter to Lansdowne Resort for a mommy-daughter weekend getaway, and it was such a great experience. The resort itself is beautiful, but the outdoor pools were definitely the highlight of our trip. They’re so well kept, with plenty of space to relax, and the atmosphere made it feel like we were on vacation far from home. My daughter could have stayed in the pool all day, and honestly, so could I!

Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff made us feel really welcomed from the start. We also enjoyed walking around the property, it’s so peaceful and scenic. Meals were delicious and convenient, which made the whole stay feel effortless.

What I loved most was just how easy everything felt. As a mom, I’m usually juggling a million details, but here we could just enjoy our time together. My daughter and I made such special memories, and we’ll definitely be back.

I have visited this resort several times per year, solo and as a group.
Great location, environment, and staff. I did have an issue with my room on the first night. The manager responded quickly and addressed the matter with myself and the staff.

The poolside restaurant did forge their own tip amount on my recipe. I caught this upon checking out when I noticed the price difference. The concierge apologized and removed the false charges immediately after reviewing the physical copy of the actual check.

Advice for any overnight stay: wipe down your room thoroughly, yourself. Bring your own bedding or, at least, thoroughly inspect the sheets before lying in them.

My husband and I got married at the Lansdowne Resort and it could not have gone better!! All the events were executed flawlessly - a big kudos to our sales manager Kate Moreland - who had been with us since day one. Kate was always extremely pleasant and professional, and it's thanks to her excellent coordination and organization of the logistics that everything went so smoothly on the final day. We did not worry about a single thing and were truly able to fully enjoy our wedding day.

The entire staff at the Lansdowne was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating and our guests all had a lovely stay. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. We had the breakfast buffet and were pleasantly surprised by the scale of the spread. It's one of the largest breakfast buffet spreads I've seen in the US and the taste was delicious too.

We had the most special weekend at the Lansdowne and we will certainly be back to reminisce and relax! I would highly recommend the Lansdowne for not only a lovely stay with a luxury feel in Virginia (nearby downtown Leesburg is delightful and charming; perfect for a nice stroll, and there are many excellent wineries near the resort for an afternoon well-spent) but also as a stunning wedding venue with great staff, amenities, and food! (bonus points for having the expertise and experience with organizing and hosting South Asian weddings)

Lansdowne Resort is an absolutely beautiful place for a family vacation. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the expansive and stunning grounds. The resort offers a variety of amenities that cater to everyone in the family, making it the perfect destination for both relaxation and fun.

One of the highlights of our stay was the pool area. The resort has three different pools, each offering something unique. There’s an adults-only pool for those looking to relax in a quieter setting, and a separate children's pool that’s perfect for the kids to splash around and have fun. It was great to have these options, as it allowed everyone to enjoy their time in the way that suited them best.

I also had the chance to visit the spa, which was a truly amazing experience. I opted for a massage, and it was nothing short of incredible. The spa itself is beautifully designed, offering a serene and luxurious atmosphere that made the experience even more special. The massage was one of the best I’ve had, leaving me feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.

The resort also has a well-equipped gym, which was great for staying active during our stay. Additionally, there are tennis courts outside, offering another fun way to spend your time. The resort provides a variety of activities, ensuring that there’s always something to do.

If you’re into golfing, Lansdowne Resort is a golfer’s paradise. They have a really nice golf course, complete with golf carts, that’s perfect for spending a day on the green. The course is beautifully maintained and adds another layer of enjoyment for those who love the sport.

The hotel itself is very nice, with spacious and comfortable rooms that made our stay enjoyable. The staff at Lansdowne Resort were fantastic—always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality really added to the overall experience.

Another standout feature of the resort is the variety of dining options available. The different restaurants on-site offer something for everyone, with delicious food and great service. We had a blast trying out the various dining spots, and each meal was a delight.

Overall, Lansdowne Resort is a fantastic destination for a family getaway. It’s big, beautiful, and offers everything you need for a memorable vacation. We had so much fun and left feeling relaxed and happy. I highly recommend Lansdowne Resort to anyone looking for a great place to unwind and enjoy time with loved ones.

Pretty resort with amazing views. Perfect for weddings. The adults only pool was a highlight for me. Staff was courteous and friendly. Tried to attend the Great Room Experience, an event posted on the website, but it wasn't much of an experience. In fact, after waiting 15 minutes without being helped, we left and went elsewhere on the premises for food and drinks.

2018 Great spot for a weekday or weekend get away. I’ve done both. The rooms have great views and are clean and spacious.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept . The pool area has nice cabanas and a food area. Check in was fast and nice.

The clubhouse has a sports bar type dining experience and the food says the same. The staff in all aspects were nice and attentive.

All in all a lovely stay. One must have this experience. The spa packages, hot tub, music in rooms(minus the outrageous fees), the view of the golf course from your room, and the property overall.

The location was beautiful. It's what I would call a active resort, you can tell the focus is primarily on golf and the spa. There is also a pickleball court and pools. The pools all close by 8 pm so that's a bit of a bummer. However my real frustration was service. We prefer a quieter dining experience and anytime we sat in the area directly outside the dining room ( still in the dining area) service was incredibly slow, no refills, they wouldn't bring silverware etc. I think this place has potential but definitely needs some more focus on the hospitality side. Seemed like the focus was on events or boardrooms not the individual guests.

Super convenient for a quick trip/getaway! We had a great time and the staff was amazing! We booked the REJUVENATE + RECOVER RETREAT two night getaway. The room was nice and the spa experience was wonderful. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and use of the onsite pool. The only things we might have changed were the extra charge for access to music in the room (you can hear your neighbors from time to time) and the dining experience. The restaurant itself is nice and the service is very attentive, but the food/menu fell a little short of the wellness culinary experience goal (it’s a bit closer to a sports bar and what you might expect from a conference center hotel breakfast buffet).

A unique experience. If you are willing to spend the money, every amenity is offered here. From dining to golfing to self care through their spa, this resort offers a comfortable, quiet atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a weekend or evening or a day of golf in luxury. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a pro shop for golfers, lots of food choices, and a spa with every offering. There are multiple choices for food within the resort and a food truck that drives the course to accommodate all your food and drink needs while golfing. They offer spaces to use for conventions, meetings, and all your business needs. They have a valet service at the door and other sports from a gym to a beautiful outdoor pool and tennis court's. There are walking paths and plenty to while you visit. A great retreat for anyone and everyone. Kid and family friendly as well, although I might suggest a visit for just the adults if you want to take advantage of everything they have to offer. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend!
