Cancelled my reservation for a business trip out of the blue 3 hours before check-in. Called and asked for an explanation - was told that they are an “extended stay hotel and that they can’t always guarantee reservations.” Only thing offered was extra points and that another Marriott down the road had plenty of availability - didn’t offer to cover the cost out of inconvenience, even when they offered up another hotel. Very disappointed as this reservation was made over a month ago and that this happened to a Marriott member. Will not be booking here again.

We are a somewhat local family that needed to stay due to home renovations. This hotel is just a place to stay if I'm honest. The rooms are clean when you first arrive which is at the top of the list and important. The day time staff is very professional and kind, night time very short somewhat rude and doesn't communicate when you're right in front of them. Literally night and day. You can tell the pool needs cleaning which isn't reassuring nor a good look. After having to ask twice throughout our stay for basic linens did we only get them, as well as cleaning which NEVER happened after asking a couple of times. Breakfast is provided and does give a variety with a little above average quality. It's a safe place with clean rooms but other than that, don't expect much.

My personal experience during this trip was below expectations.
First when I entered for check in, I was not greeted, nor as customary was my Marriott status reviewed E.G. Thank you for being a Platinum Elite customer, would you like extra points or a Market Place item.
The room was terrible, there was no body wash, there was hair in the sink, but what made it even worse was that there was 2 window unit A/Cs, 2 problems with this method of cooling the roome, 1st you can not shut the curtains because it will block the the A/C and Secondly they do not seal and insects were coming in as well as terrible road noise because this hotel backs directly up to the highway.
I went on the chat through the app and expressed my concerns however no one replied after 14 minutes so I went downstairs to the desk. When I git to the desk the girl behind the counter had her head down looking at her phone, I stood there for 2 minutes before she noticed me.
I advised of the issues and requested a different room , however there was none available, sonI asked to cancel my reservation refund me for the room and help me find another proper to stay in, I was advised there was no manager on duty and no refund could be issued because I already used the room.
Long story short I will not be staying at this property again as it did not live up to the Marriott reputation.

We're staying here for an extended time while our house is getting ready for us. I'd rather be in a Red Roof Inn.

This the worst run Residence Inn I've ever been to. The AC barely works and is very loud when it is is running, the tub doesn't hold water, the t.v. is very glitchy, the entire place is in disrepair.

Worst of all, we haven't had hot water in 5 days and it doesn't seem like it's getting fixed anytime soon. We can't shower or wash dishes.
We canceled many plans, had to go work without showering- it's almost 100 degrees outside!

They haven't given us an estimated time frame for the water to be fixed. It seems like they couldn’t care less.

We're Diamond Elite members, which means nothing to them. We've traveled across the U.S. and have always felt comfortable choosing a Marriott property but after the way they've handled this situation we're considering switching hotel chains.
My team and I have been staying and working at this hotel off and on for a couple of months. The staff has been exceptional and goes above and beyond to make sure our needs are met. Their breakfast options are excellent, the guest services team members make sure our visit is well accommodated and we are always greeted with a smile. The courtyard area is well appointed and comfortable and pets are treated like family and are very comfortable using the surrounding grounds. The hotel is also quiet and clean and its location near many restaurants and shopping make it an ideal stay. / Thomas S.

Rooms were clean but pretty dark. Need higher wattage bulbs. We had one person on the pullout and he said he could feel the metal bars under the mattress. Dishes and silverware were adequate but there was a very limited pot/pan/bowl situation for cooking. Salt and pepper shakers would have been nice. Breakfast buffet looked good and had good variety, but our family are not breakfast eaters so for us it was basically coffee only. Ice maker in fridge and downstairs were good. TVs worked great. Smart tvs would have been nice to log onto home xfinity dvr, prime video, netflix, etc. Location is good with Dunkin next door, Target right up street, and highway right there. We were visiting family in Waterbury/Wolcott nearby.

I recently stayed here and was above beyond impressed with the attentiveness and assistance of the front desk woman, Shannen. Will be back thanks to her:)

2 bed / 2 bath ($425/night) was extremely dated. It doesn’t look like there was ever an update to this place. The walls are thin, you can hear the highway. The halls smell like ethnic food or garbage (maybe both). The exterior doors are always propped open. Both nights we stayed, we didn’t need a key card to get into hotel building, the doors were open about 1 inch to let people come and go…. And they do…. And this wasn’t just 1 door. Multiple doors are open. There seems to be a large population of people living here - possibly through a government program? Not sure. I know that this is a residence inn and long term renters are common - but the barefoot / tank top / nascar looking tailgater around the grill - is not the business renters I’m used to seeing when traveling for work. We stayed here for 2 reasons. #1 they accept dogs. #2 I’m only a couple nights away from Platinum Elite status. If given the choice - looking for larger rooms that accept pets - there is a Hilton right down the street. Otherwise, if you can get by on a smaller room / no dog and want Bonvoy - there is a much newer looking Courtyard down the street. This is not a Bonvoy property to be proud of. The staff I encountered was friendly. Also my wife mentioned people at the breakfast loading up milks and apple juices and whatever they could to leave with, and not it a way to bring back to room for kids, but as if it’s their meal plan until breakfast the next day…. It is what it is, we have just never experienced anything like this before… and won’t again…. And Oh yeah… the elevator doesn’t work…

This is by far the best experience I have had with any hotel. All of the staff was absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere was convivial and everyone was very helpful. My room was clean, the hallways were clean and the lobby was inviting. There was cookies available in the evening and for breakfast a staff member was available for assistance. It was an indelible experience. The staff here made the experience. Thank you to the staff at the Residence Inn by Marriott Southington.

When I was living in Connecticut with my family, 2 adults and 2 dogs. We came across this hotel because our former living space was not what we thought so we needed to stay somewhere fast and easy. We both worked in the city and didn't know a lot but the staff at this location made the resident inn home.
Our dogs and family ended up staying the contract at this hotel. We loved it and miss the staff that helped us in a time of need.
The cleaning and support staff were always smiling and helpful. The front desk ladies and sergio the manager are amazing. Almost like an extended family in another state.
Thank you so much for taking care of us!

I would never stay at this hotel again. The moment we walked in, the place smelled moldy and unpleasant. On top of that, the staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. We unfortunately had a medical emergency and tried to cancel our room, but the front desk made it clear it was “at their discretion” and absolutely refused to work with us. The woman I spoke to was dismissive, refused to let me speak to a manager, and handled the situation with zero compassion or professionalism. Between the poor conditions and the horrible customer service, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed in this hotel back in may. Was given an “upgrade” to a room with a single bed when I had originally booked a room with 2 beds. Upon returning from our event, at 1am we discovered the television was broken. Too late for me to go out of my way to request another room, I was in bed. Didn’t feel the need to say anything when I checked out, clearly I was wrong in not doing so. A week later they charge me 400 for the television. I’ve reached out by phone 6 times to the hotel, every time I’m told the manager will call me back. I’ve emailed them, heard nothing back. I’ve also called the corporate line twice and have still not had anyone reach out to me. The last time I talked to corporate, I was told that this “case has been solved” or however it was said, that my issue was handled and it was not. Just the sheer fact I haven’t received a response in any form is beyond infuriating. It’s disrespectful and highly unprofessional.

I recently stayed at the hotel while attending a wedding, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. A special thanks to Surya and her fantastic team—they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that guests were well taken care of.

The room was exceptionally comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, making it a perfect place to relax after the celebrations. Every detail, from the service to the amenities, contributed to a truly enjoyable stay.

I highly recommend this hotel, especially for events like weddings. The team’s professionalism and hospitality made it a memorable experience.

The first issue was entering the room as my key card did not work. The supervisor on shift saw this on the secuirty camera and was nice to come up and assist me. He gave me a new key card, which he had issues opening the door with. He advised me that they had just changed the batteries in the door locks. Didn't seem like it. The two days that I was there, I had a hard time entering my room every single time. I had to try the key card over and over and over again and pray that it worked. The gym and pool was off limits as my card never worked there. Similar issue with the TV remote. What made it work was taking out the batteries and putting them back in again. Until it stopped working altogether. I used my computer for the rest of the time I was there to watch tv. I didn't even bother complaining about the remote seeing that they didn't care about the door he clearly saw had issues. The issue didn't end there. The walls seemed so paper-thin as I had to endure from the minute I checked in till late into the night blasting of music and television. This I did complain about, but still nothing was done. The next morning I woke up to a couple screaming. There were some cleanliness issues. First towel I unfolded had pubic hair, and my blanket had tears all over the bottom side of it so I was forced to use the sheet underto avoid the snags. I wish I didn't have these issues as the room gad an updated look and was spacious. I did have to request a non-connecting room as a solo female traveler. Just didn't feel safe. But the option is there is you want it and are traveling as a large family.

Update: thank you for your patronizing response, however it would be difficult to contact you directly since you copy and pasted the response but forgot to add your contact information!

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions over the past few years and were fond of the location and general quality of the hotel for the price. This, however, changed after our stay which ended today. On our second day our toilet clogged. A housekeeper was sent up and plunged the clog away. The next morning as we were getting ready for church at 630 am, the toilet clogged again. When we called the front desk, the gentleman who could barely be understood due to a thick accent, told me maintenance would not be available until 8:00 am but he could bring up a plunger. He brought it up to our room and we had to plunge the toilet ourselves!! We were ready to pack up and leave then and there, but because we booked through a third party they could not give us a refund for the remaining 8 days of our reservation, instead they moved us to a new room. The room next door to us housed several children who were allowed to make all sorts of banging noises and ball bouncing at all hours of day and night. When we complained at 11 pm we were assured it would be taken care of. The incessant noise continued . When we travel we typically do not accept room service due to a medical device in our room, however after 7 nights we asked housekeeping to tidy our room before we left at 8:15 am. Upon returning to our room at 3 pm the room was just as we left it! She said she had forgotten and quickly came in to change sheets and tidy the bathroom. The noise continued with assurances from front desk staff (Surya)and also the hotel manager until finally with 3 days left on our 10 night stay they moved the noisy family to another room. ( This after another clerk inadvertently told us the noisy family had only been called once per records. When this was brought up to Surya she lied and said they had been called numerous times. My husband told her we had been told the truth and her attitude was not appreciated she responded with “ yours too sir”. This hotel has really gone south from previous stays- marijuana can be smelled in the hallways most nights even though it’s a non smoking facility and staff can often be seen smoking cigarettes outside the front entrance. Besides the toilet issue the showers do not drain quickly so you end up standing in dirty water while you bathe. The pool provides a source of constantly wet floors on the first level and the elevator. Parking is a nightmare with few avail spaces and there are often carloads of men smoking weed in the parking lot. Then to boot, our room keys stopped working on 2 occasions making it necessary to go back to the front desk for rekeying! Save yourself some frustration and stay elsewhere.

Words can not describe how amazing our stay here was. The staff were so amazing. The lady at the check-in desk made my girls day and most likely the highlight of the trip for them. The room was spotless and beds were comfortable. We are definitely making this our hotel of choice when we are back in this area.

The hotel smelled like weed. It was very strong in the hallway. After checking out, I noticed there was a smoking charge on my receipt, and my card was charged a $300 smoking charge on the day I checked in. Some of my colleagues who also stayed there received mysterious additional charges for $194. The GM is hard to get in touch with and not very responsive. I would not recommend staying here as it appears they add charges and hope no one notices or complains. As for the room, the shower curtain smelled bad, and the smell of weed from the hallway could be smelled in the room.

We stayed one night for a softball tournament in the area. It was close to the field and close to restaurants - very convenient. The front desk workers were extremely nice and helpful. They went above and beyond to assist where they could. There was coffee available in the foyer all day. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff were all friendly. I would stay here again.

Update: the manager responded to my review saying to call “this” number to discuss further- I’ve tried calling many times the past 4 days and it either rings forever, or they pick up and hang up on me. This shows me they don’t care about their customers and their concerns. I’m very disappointed.

I first want to say that my review does not reflect the man working the front desk, as he did the best he could to help. We checked in and got a room that smelt like someone had been smoking in it. Immediately called the front desk and the guy working ran up the stairs to give us keys to a new room right away - great! The new room seemed fine, we quickly brushed our teeth and left for a party- no issues were noticed except the shower had mold spots and desperately needs to be resurfaced as it looks dirty. Came back later that night and went to brush our teeth and heard the water splashing on the floor. Look underneath the sink and see the pipe came apart and a huge chunk of hair was hanging out of it. Called front desk- he didn’t have another room for us to switch to as they were fully booked for the night, and couldn’t get maintenance up until today (when we are checking out). Offered free breakfast but I declined because we were leaving early to head back home….offered drinks at the bar but I declined again as I’m pregnant. We brushed our teeth from the tub. I wish we had a better experience.

This place is great!!! I only took one star off because the tub really needed refinishing but everything else was so well done I would gladly give them 5 stars. The desk pulls out on wheels and you can move it around the room. The rooms, hallways, lobby was spotless and updated!! Great deal! The bar and food was really delicious! I'm not kidding. I expected cheap food but nothing was cheap about the entire experience. This is now my new favorite hotel hands down. Bartender was so nice! The check in guy was great.
