Having your own private in-room spa is a great way to enhance any stay, but you can take that up a notch by booking something even more extraordinary. The only question is, how do you find it?

You can save a significant amount of time is by exploring our site while searching for hot tub rooms, but this list of some of our favorite unusual in-room private spa experiences may be the perfect place to start.

Consider this your shortcut to the rare, the whimsical, and the wonderfully offbeat. You’ll find a wide range of options such as spaces tucked among a canopy of trees, underground rooms carved out of rock, unique retreats with impressive views, and more.

Kalestesia Suites – Santorini, Greece

Kalestesia Suites
Kalestesia Suites – Deluxe Outdoor Heated Jacuzzi

Santorini tops many travelers’ bucket lists as one of the most famous in the Greek Islands, most notably due to its stunning caldera, the result of a volcanic eruption in 1600 BC. There’s no better way to enjoy it than with a room that includes a terrace or balcony for your own private spa experience while gazing out at the endless sapphire blue of the Aegean and the caldera cliffs.

While there are many hotels on the island with in-room Jacuzzis, Kalestesia Suites enjoys a unique vantage point in one of the quieter areas, just a 10-minute drive (about 2.4 miles) from the Pompeii-like Akrotiri archaeological site, a city blanketed in ash during the eruption that created the caldera, for a glimpse at life over 3600 years ago. Plus, just imagine being able to soak while gazing out at one of the world’s most breathtaking sites anytime you like! At least until check-out time, that is.

Göreme is known for some of the most impressive, and some of them now serve as cave hotels, with underground rooms available for rent. The Mosaic Cave Hotel is one of our favorites, as its luxurious Stone Bed Cave Suite has a private Jacuzzi and a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. It’s worth the early wake-up call to be on the hotel terrace at dawn – you’ll be able to enjoy a sumptuous buffet-style breakfast with a view of dozens of colorful hot air balloons filling the air at sunrise.
