Incredible resort that has gone through many renovations over the years and only doing better and better. Each time. Has been in Paradise valley since 1959 and I have stayed here many times throughout the years. One of the most relaxed luxury resorts in the valley

Visited for dinner only at Hearth 61. Fantastic food and wine list, and the service was outstanding! Quality vegan food options as well, including dessert. Enjoyed dinner on the patio, gorgeous views of Camelback. The atmosphere was perfect, relaxed yet classy. Love the more modern take on mid-century style, in keeping with the property history.

Absolutely best place to stay in Scottsdale. We checked out several of the larger hotels and found them to be pretty but too many people and the service was slow.Shadow mountain has outstanding service. You can tell the staff love their jobs and very attentive to your needs. The food is absolutely delicious with plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. Also recommend the espresso martini. The pool is so beautiful with plenty of seating, don’t skip breakfast because the view from the restaurant is amazing. We will stay again!

We recently spent a week at Mountain Shadows. The resort was very nice and well kept. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful when we needed anything. We had several meals at Hearth 61 and found the quality excellent and the prices reasonable.

The first room we got was facing the mountain ?️ but I really came for the pool and mountains view definitely. My boyfriend went to the lobby and ask if we can be change to another room that has pool/mountain views together. They say yes without a problem and gave us a beautiful 2 bedroom queens. The services by the ppl is exceptional. ?? everyone in this hotel were so nice I’m always will be grateful for this experience l! 10000% recommend

Lovely resort with stunning views of the mountains! Let's start with Alexis at the front desk that was so kind and showed us different room options so we could upgrade to the one we really wanted with no surprise! As a result we absolutely loved our garden room with views on the golf course and would have loved to stay longer. Service at the pool was excellent, same with the bar and restaurant, staff is nice and truly cares about you having a great experience. They also have EV/Tesla charging stations in the parking. I would recommend Mountain Shadows to anyone who wants to have a relaxing time 15 minutes driving from Scottsdale. We will come back with my wife if we are in the area.

I stayed at Mountain Shadows for a weekend in March. This hotel was well worth every cent I paid and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Arizona. I will go out of my way just to make it back here on my next visit. The room was spacious with vaulted ceilings and a fantastic view. The layout was superb - everything was laid out as i would do at home. I found it a bit odd for the shower placement, but i realized that the room could be partitioned easily and i rather enjoyed this feature. The place was kept clean to the highest standards, even in the common areas. Check in was amazing with a front desk that was warm and welcoming; checkout was a breeze from the comfort of my room. The bar at Mountain Shadows was one of the best hotel bars i have been to. The bartenders were so attentive and welcoming, that i decided to go a second night in a row. Although many people were here, as there was an event, the bartenders instantly recognized me and remembered my drink of choice. The drinks were top notch (best i had in Arizona); the food was amazing (had the burger and fries two nights in a row). The live music was also a treat - two different vibes on separate nights, but it added to the experience. When going out to eat or drink, you are usually paying for the ambiance, and I would definitely say it was well worth it.

Not much to complain about here, we had a pleasant stay. There's a nice pool and the food is decent. There's a nice selection of beer and whiskey at the bar. Service is a little slow all around, but friendly. I didn't golf, but I know that's an attraction there. It was a kid friendly place as well. Shower is somewhat weird for privacy concerns (hope you trust everyone in your room), but spacious and nice inside. Clean rooms and facilities.

My husband and I visited the spa at the resort for our anniversary celebration, we had a couples massage. The massage was the worst massage I’ve had in 10 years. The woman didn’t have the skill set to give a proper massage. They require to you to pay 20% for gratuity, which I would have been happy to pay if I got a worthy massage from them. We sat down for lunch in between our services and it took an hour from start to finish to get our food. We had to hurry and eat and we couldn’t enjoy some of the amenities due to their lack of service. I wouldn’t recommend spending thousands of dollars here for the spa. I’d look elsewhere.

Had the privilege of attending a conference at the hotel and couldn’t have had a better experience. During the check-in, I was greeted by Ben, who provided an exceptional experience. Recognizing my Bonvoy loyalty, despite the event booking not transferring my rewards number, and talking about amenities available at the property, he made sure I was well prepared to enjoy a great stay at the property. Our dinner at J&G was outstanding, and the property amazing throughout the stay. Thanks for a great week!

This resort experience truly deserves five stars, across-the-board. All details from booking, arrival, staying, and departure are smooth and enjoyable.I am surprised at how every staff member in every part of the facility are on board to make this a great experience for their guests.Even Ky in the Market was kind, helpful, and a joy to chat with each morning for coffee.I highly recommend staying here and we will be back in the future.

FAQs About Resorts for Couples in Arizona

What price range can I expect for a romantic resort stay in Arizona?

When planning a getaway to Arizona’s romantic resorts, couples can anticipate a range of pricing that reflects the diversity and luxury of accommodations available. Typically, prices can start from around $200 per night for more modest yet charming options, soaring to over $600 per night for premium resorts offering the pinnacle of luxury, exclusivity, and privacy. This variance accounts for the vast array of amenities, from standard to ultra-luxurious experiences, ensuring there’s a romantic escape to fit different budgets and preferences. Seasonal fluctuations and special packages can also influence the price, offering additional value or exclusive experiences.

When is the best time to visit romantic resorts in Arizona?

The ideal time to visit romantic resorts in Arizona largely depends on the type of experience you’re seeking. For cooler weather and outdoor activities like hiking and sightseeing, the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) months are perfect, with mild temperatures and nature in full bloom or showcasing autumn colors. However, if you’re looking to enjoy the luxurious poolside amenities and indoor relaxation that many resorts offer, the summer months (June to August) provide hot, sunny days with potentially lower rates outside of peak season. Winter (December to February) is ideal for those looking to explore southern Arizona or enjoy cozy, desert nights.

Do romantic resorts in Arizona offer special packages for couples?

Yes, many romantic resorts in Arizona specialize in creating unforgettable experiences for couples and often curate special packages to enhance romance and intimacy. These packages can include luxurious accommodations, spa treatments for two, private dining experiences, and exclusive tours of the surrounding natural beauty. Some resorts also offer customizable options to celebrate special occasions such as anniversaries, honeymoons, or simply the joy of being together, incorporating romantic touches like champagne on arrival, rose petal turn-down services, and couples’ massage sessions.

Can couples find activities outside the resort to enjoy together?

Absolutely! Arizona is a treasure trove of activities perfect for couples looking to explore and create memories together. Beyond the resort, you can venture into the stunning landscapes for hiking, hot air balloon rides, or jeep tours through the desert. For a taste of culture and history, visit the art galleries in Sedona, explore the historic streets of Tucson, or enjoy the vibrant culinary scene in Scottsdale. Many resorts offer concierge services to help plan these excursions, ensuring you have an adventurous and romantic experience tailored to your interests.

Are there any adults-only romantic resorts in Arizona?

Yes, Arizona is home to several adults-only romantic resorts, designed to provide couples with a serene and uninterrupted escape. These resorts cater exclusively to adults, offering a more tranquil atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation and romance. Amenities often include spa services, adult-only pools, fine dining options, and activities tailored for couples, ensuring a peaceful and mature environment. Choosing an adults-only resort can elevate your romantic getaway by providing a setting where you can focus entirely on each other in an idyllic and adult-oriented atmosphere.
