The purpose of this review is to share my recent experience with this hotels "customer service" department. I responded to an email promotion to book a room over Mother's Day weekend. I booked the room at approximately midnight, not even 24 hours ago. My wife called the spa at the resort to set an appointment and a lot of the services are not available on Sundays in general and there were no good times for any treatments that she wanted, even though she is booking approximately two months ahead of schedule. I then called the hotel to see if I could cancel the booking also explaining that I have stayed at the resort several times in the past. I again mentioned that this booking was made only about 12 hours ago and to see if they would waive the $50 nonrefundable cancellation fee. I spoke with the first representative, and then had them transfer me to a supervisor who identified himself as "Tray". Both representatives were generally lacking in any warmth or customer service skill sets, and basically said that there is nothing that they are going to do to accomodate us. So, my warning to all potential guests booking at this resort, if you expect any level of customer service from them, do not get your hopes up. Also, double check to make sure that reservations for various services, such as spa restaurants are available prior to you booking or else there is a good chance you might be charged a fee if you try to cancel later on. This hotel has succeeded in losing my business forever going forward.

Our bartender Keith was more than phenomenal. I don’t even know if there are words for the experience this gentleman gave us out at the tiki bar. He made it feel like a home away from home but with the most amazing view you could find.

Amazing service from valet to check in (even though my room wasn’t ready yet when I showed up which I didn’t expect it to be as I showed up around 11am) I felt like I was treated with amazing customer service. Sat at the pool bar with Alyssa until my room was ready which the front desk team sent me a text to notify me my room was ready not to long after arriving. Alyssa recommend the chicken wings and they were phenomenal. Dom, Christian and nick (bartenders) were all phenomenal as well downstairs at the sandbar good recommendations as well as good drinks Randy the manager even checked in on me making sure everything was up to par.I will definitely be back to visit the property as it exceeded all expectations of a hotel on Clearwater beach

What a disappointment! Construction noise starts at 6 am and continues all day, forget about spending time on the balcony it’s unbearable. Paid extra for upper level room and was put right in the middle floor. Made reservations at the on site restaurant 2 weeks ahead of time for Valentine’s Day and they lost it. The room is very nice, but just because you have a great view and charge an outrageous amount for a room, doesn’t make you a resort, but overpriced Red Roof Inn. Our housekeeper was great and the guys doing valet are great too, but it’s hard to justify the cost compared to other hotels in the area. The best part of the trip is I get to go home tomorrow!

My husband ( newlyweds as of 2/2/24) just got married and had our wedding at Opal Sands this past Friday! I have nothing but amazing things to say about the venue- the team there was so great to work with (Jodi, Jenna & Alexis) and everything on my wedding day was truly seamless! Everyone told me before I got married, things will go wrong and it’s okay, well I just have to say that I don’t feel like anything went wrong at opal! They truly were so detailed, worked with all of the vendors I hired seamlessly ( some of which were on their vendor list, some of which I chose myself) and everything turned out better then we could have imagined! & let’s not forget about the food- the chef absolutely did a fantastic job for our 75 person wedding! Thank you opal sands for making our wedding a dream come true! Oh, our two small dogs were our ring bearers and everyone at opal treated us and them like gold all week long. The guest rooms and bridal suite were breathtaking as well. I have so many good things to say about the team at opal. This is literally the only hotel in Clearwater beach that feels like you’re in the ocean without having the sandy mess of a wedding. We can’t wait to come back every year to celebrate our anniversary!

Scheduled a last minute getaway with my two sons. This resort was perfect. The hotel rooms, activities and pool were all perfect for kids and teens. The location on the beach and the beach club and pool club are both gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love how the rooms have small fridges. The Nespresso was much appreciated and always restocked with my favourite pods daily. The kids loved the lobby and "magical" piano. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel.

Best kid friendly but not kid overwhelming resort ever! Down to even being able to ask for toys and boogie boards at the pool desk. S’mores every night and champagne when you check in! We loved the over and above service from the time we checked in and Michael in concierge helped us so much. We also had so many employees who went above and beyond like Devin at the Carettas restaurant and Doc at room service as well as Matt at the pool all made our trip one to remember. It was so special that Christine at the spa helped us with individual requests and overall we definitely will be back!

I attended the complimentary yoga here on the beach, and it was absolutely incredible. The teacher was amazing and gentle. She event brought crystal sound bowls out! I suggest attending whether you’re a beginner or a more advanced yogi. Was told there is a class every Sunset 6pm on Thursdays and mornings 9am Friday-Sunday.

Fantastic experience, really incredible. The kids really enjoyed the pool. The staff were all fantastic, I can’t recommend this place enough. Thoughtful presentation, the decor was impeccable, provided with mimosas upon arrival. The room we stayed in had a wonderful view of the beach, I really enjoyed that especially during the sunset. The soaps and shampoos provided were quality products that we all thought was better than any other hotel I’ve ever been to beside the trump tower. Even the Wynn products in Vegas can’t compare to these. The pool is very child friendly, they have life jackets to borrow for kids if they can’t swim well, but much of the pool is actually not very deep and there is a portion of the pool that is low enough for even my one and a half year old to play without any worries. The two hot tubs were very nice, although one of them was quite dirty each day I was there so I always just used the one in the corner. Access to the best is unbeatable, there is a small gate that you use your key card for to reenter and exit directly onto the beach, truly one of the most special parts of the resort. There was a piano in the lobby that played itself and that always set the ambience a level higher, very pleasing to hear. Also, conveniently located right next to a few fantastic restaurants like Frenchies and this incredible ice cream shop across the street. Only 2 blocks or so to a CVS if you need anything you might have forgotten when you packed for your trip. The poolside service for drinks and light food was great, they were very accessible as they walk around all the time. The only thing I recommend is that those birds will boldly try to come and snatch your food so be careful, I gave a left hook to one and he must have told his friends because none returned to my region but kept antagonizing others. All said, this is probably one of the top 10 resorts I’ve been to in the United States, and I’ve been to a lot of great ones but this stands out.

I was just at the Sandpearl for a company conference. The hotel is beautiful and the staff goes above and beyond. Their breakfast buffet is delicious too! Housekeeping did a great job cleaning my room, and we're always super friendly when I had the chance to interact with them. The location is super walkable to the main strip, with cool bars and restaurants within a few minute's walk. Can't wait to experience this hotel again!
