Florida Romantic Getaway Hotels

Your Guide to Florida’s Most Romantic Hotels

Planning an anniversary or Valentine’s escape to Florida means finding a hotel that actually understands romance. The city you pick sets the scene, but it’s the property itself that makes the difference between a good trip and one you’ll remember for years.

The hotels below specialize in couples’ getaways across Florida. You’ll find beachfront resorts in Delray Beach and Fort Lauderdale with private beach access and spa services, adults-only inns along Destin’s Emerald Coast where peace and quiet come standard, historic boutique properties in Key West’s Old Town that feel intimate, and upscale options in Miami‘s Coconut Grove and Brickell neighborhoods with rooftop pools and city views. These places get what matters for romantic stays–champagne on arrival, rose petal turndowns, couples’ massage packages you don’t have to track down yourself.

The range covers different budgets and styles. Some properties run around $120 a night in places like Navarre or Tampa and still deliver on the romantic vibe. Others reach $700+ in Bal Harbour or Marco Island and bring private beaches, full-service spas, and the extras that turn anniversaries into something memorable. St. Augustine’s historic inns offer gourmet breakfasts and Old World charm, while Orlando‘s Grande Lakes resorts add championship golf and tropical grounds. A few even include private in-room hot tubs for couples who want that level of privacy. What ties them all together is the focus on creating the right atmosphere–comfortable king beds, thoughtful soundproofing, and details like in-room breakfast or chocolates when you’re celebrating.

This is different from browsing general hotel options in a city. These properties focus specifically on getting romance right, whether that means oceanfront balconies, intimate garden settings, or adults-only policies that keep things peaceful.

This hotel was great for a few days of our trip!! I will say rooms need some renovations which they did share was happening soon, but did remodel bathrooms! Great view and great location.

Alex helped us up to our room after check in, he was great!!!
Margo at the pool was incredibly friendly and attentive. She chatted with us about where we were from etc. She was the sweetest! Valet staff and check in staff, including manager Tiego was great!!

Area is walkable to bal harbor shops which has some higher end shopping along with restaurants etc.

Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, Miami was exceptional from start to finish. The property is absolutely beautiful, immaculately maintained, elegant, and peaceful, with stunning ocean views that truly set the tone for a relaxing getaway.

The service was outstanding across the board, but Alex at the beach deserves special recognition. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. From setting us up comfortably to checking in regularly and anticipating our needs, Alex went above and beyond to make our beach experience effortless and enjoyable. His positive attitude and professionalism really stood out and made a lasting impression.

The staff throughout the hotel consistently demonstrated the high level of hospitality the Ritz-Carlton is known for. Everyone was warm, accommodating, and eager to help, making us feel welcome and well taken care of at all times.

Overall, this was a truly memorable stay. We can’t wait to return.

A huge thank you to Margo and Victor for going above and beyond to help us—they were attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. Their professionalism and positive energy made a big difference and elevated the entire experience. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy it all again. Highly recommend!

I had an overall amazing experience at The Ritz Carlton in Bal Harbour. The property itself is stunning, with a beautiful, clean beach and a calm, luxurious atmosphere that makes it perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Every detail of the hotel reflects quality and care.

The service truly stood out. The staff was consistently friendly, professional, and attentive, making sure every need was met without ever feeling intrusive. I want to specifically highlight Alex Suarez, whose level of service was exceptional. His attentiveness, professionalism, and strong work ethic especially for his age, were genuinely impressive. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and made the experience feel personal and memorable.

From the beach to the service, everything exceeded expectations. This stay was nothing short of excellent, and I would absolutely return and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top tier luxury experience.

This was my first time staying at The Ritz Bal Harbour and I must admit it was a wonderful experience—comfortable, luxurious, and beautifully done. We were upgraded to an ocean-view one-bedroom suite, which was truly stunning, with gorgeous views and calming neutral décor.

One of my favorite aspects of the hotel is its location: tucked away in Bal Harbour, away from the hustle and bustle yet close to everything. I also loved the partnership with Exhale Spa—the classes and spa services were incredible and made our stay even more relaxing.

The hotel features a beautiful pool and offers a great breakfast on the terrace. During our stay, they also hosted an Art Basel exhibition with a reception, which definitely elevated the experience.

Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel, and I would definitely return for another relaxing and comfortable stay.

I can’t say enough about how amazing our experience at The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour was, and it was all thanks to Alexendra at the front desk! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcome with her warm and friendly energy. She truly went above and beyond to make my sister’s 25th birthday special.

She surprised us with a personalized handwritten card, a beautiful balloon, and a delicious chocolate truffle gift for my sister, along with a lovely welcome drink that set the perfect tone for our stay. The hotel itself is already incredible, with only two rooms per floor, making it feel even more exclusive and private. But it was Alexendra’s kindness and attention to detail that really made our stay unforgettable.

It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about making guests feel special, but she did exactly that. If you’re staying at The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, I highly recommend looking for Alexendra—she’s a gem!

Thank you again, Alexendra, for making this such a memorable experience!

Was in town and wanted to stop by haul over inlet and check out the walk along the jetty. So I decided to take my girlfriend to the Ritz for a late lunch and what a pleasant surprise the food was. They had a halibut ceviche that was awesome, and then we had some octopus along with scallops. Food was very good. The service was very good. my waiter Marissa she did a fantastic job. We were just by the Ritz the other day. From the moment we walked in til we checked out, we were all treated like royalty. The place was spotless, quiet, amazing customer service. The view from our bathroom tub was breathtaking. I spilled my coffee in the morning and the server ran over to bring me another one and apologize, not to make me feel bad. We had such a great experience with our 2 kids there. We definitely will be back! Thank you to all the staff there who really made us feel like we were on vacation. We were at a hotel a few blocks away that was very overcrowded and the service was nowhere near what the ritz offered us! Hope to see you guys soon 🙏

I had the pleasure of visiting the spa located at this hotel. The staff were welcoming. I would recommend some updating the waiting area. The valet parking was only $15. Spa services do not entitle guests who aren't staying at the hotel to the facilities. However, the staff were accommodating upon out misunderstanding. I received the scrub and deep tissue massage. My therapist, Bernard, was by far one of the absolute 💯 BEST therapist I have ever had. He is a professional, understands the body, and simple crafted at his job. THANK YOU BERNARD!!!!! 😊

This place is truly exceptional. The level of hospitality here has been unparalleled by any other place in the States. Dare I say, the world? I have had the fortune of this place being my only Miami hotel experience, and I would only stay here if I could.

The view is incredible, the neighborhood seems exclusive and quiet, the rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated. The elevators open up to two? three? rooms per floor, which makes it extremely private.

To highlight details on the remarkable service received here:

We arrived tired and hungry after the drive from Key West at around midnight. As soon as we drove up, we were greeted warmly along with bottles of water and inquiries about how our trip over was and if we needed anything. When I asked about food options, our bellman (Alex, if I remember correctly) immediately let us know that the kitchen was about to close, and that he would do what he can so that we have food before going to bed. He proceeded to run in to the building, facilitating with the front desk team, so that we could order food from the lobby, even before check-in.

After a wonderful check-in experience, Alex took us to our room and went over the functions. Check out was also very memorable, Ana was also very amiable, and really made an effort to connect on a more personal level. It worked! A year later, I still remember.

The only downside would possibly be that the lobby doesn’t feel very “grand” (personal opinion), and the breakfast buffet felt simple at best. Maybe ordering à la carte is the way to go.

My stay was about a year from today, so this review is extremely overdue, but I wanted to remember it and share it. Hope not much has changed, for my future visits to come. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

From the moment we stepped foot inside the hotel, we felt absolutely pampered. The extra details, including toys delivered to our room & providing cribs & baby supplies upon request were very helpful when coming from out of town. There were kid friendly activities every day of our stay including an animal show by the pool & balloon animals in the lobby with fresh cookies! These experiences were so entertaining for us and our kids alike and helped to make our stay unforgettable. We were actually able to relax which isn’t always possible to do on vacation with a one and two year old! The staff was exceptional in taking care of our every need, including allowing late check out due to a 7pm flight & delivering antibiotic ointment to our room for our son when asked. Thank you so much for taking care of us! We were so sad to leave but cannot wait to come back.

There is a reason I keep returning to this hotel. My check-in is always flawless. The bellmen remember me by name welcoming me with the happiest smiles. The suite is spacious, gorgeous and clean. The service is quick and nothing is ever an issue. The in room dining is delicious and they always get it right. My room gets cleaned rather quick which is so refreshing and and they do a fantastic job. I personally think the general manager does a great job training the entire staff. Having the spa downstairs and working out is another added plus. The pool is refreshing and the beach is beautiful along with the service there as well. Love the sweet surprising afternoon treats in the lobby where this time they served us complimentary ice-cream. They topped it with fresh brewed coffee making it a homemade coffee ice cream. When I think my stays cannot get better it always does.

Went here with my fiancé to see the venue for our wedding. Emilie at the front desk was so nice and helpful. She showed us around the hotel and answered all of our questions. We also had lunch at the hotel restaurant (forgot the name), this experience was also 5/5 stars. Great food and even better customer service. Definitely going to stay there one of these days for the full experience.

I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour recently with family. The property is in a quieter, affluent residential area of Miami Beach, which is why I chose it as a weekend getaway trip for my parents instead of the sister property in South Beach. The customer service on the whole was good. The food and amenities were okay, although not up to the standard of 5-star property that is charging upwards of $1,000/night.

The most disappointing part of the stay was a poorly handled security concern in the middle of the night. Around midnight, our family was rudely awaken by a loud party happening in the room next door (mind you, most floors only have two rooms). There were several intoxicated people going in and out, standing in hallways, playing music, screaming, and crying with no consideration. After calling the front desk multiple times for assistance, security was not able to handle the situation, and my family was forced to haul all of our belongings into a new room on a different floor - we were instructed not to leave anything behind to pick up in the morning. Even though the staff had apologized for not being able to do anything, there was no effort to "make it right" then and when we checked out.

Overall, it was a failure on many levels and is making me think twice about continuing with Marriott as a travel partner in the future.

The hotel is situated at the end of Collins ave, it has only one restaurant, which we only had breakfast at. The choices were ample, and well done, although a bit pricey. All other restaurants are a 20 minute walk, (a very nice beach walkway)closer to Bal Harbor shops/ Harding Ave. as well as a variety of kosher restaurants. The room we had was as described, large ocean view-Bathroom large, shower was great- good water pressure. We had tiny issues when arriving, which were solved immediately ( safe not working, needed batteries)
I liked the fact that the elevator went right up to our room entrance. ( just another room was next to us) no walking down a long corridor.

I was supposed to stay at the Ritz-Carlton at South Beach between 10/16-10/22, but was relocated to Bal Harbor while I was boarding my flight in Boston. My reservation was cancelled because of an air-conditioning failure. No problem, I don't fault the hotel for that, things happen. Upon arriving at the Bal Harbor location, my room was upgraded to a King Suite with an ocean view, two bathrooms, two balconies, and a kitchen. I was okay with the upgrade as I was inconvenienced by the air conditioning issue. After the first night my American Express card kept getting charged. The first night was $800, the next night was $2,000, then $1,500, etc. When I checked with the desk on this, I was told this was because they wanted to keep my credit line available so I could charge things to my room such as drinks, spa, room service, etc. I think that was excessive and not accurate information. As the week progressed, I was charged thousands more. The night before I checked out I asked the desk again why I kept getting charged. I was then given a print out of my statement. I had a bill over $9,700. Keep in mind I had already booked everything online for the South Beach location which included my 6 night stay and airline tickets. I was being charged $1,680 a night for the room that was supposed to be a "complimentary upgrade". To the credit of the staff, I had this taken care of (rightfully so) by the manager. My bill upon check out was $299.70 for the resort fees and tax. I still had over $8,000 pending on my American Express card. Those transactions went away roughly a week after my stay. I thought that was the end of it. Rather disappointingly, it was not. Fast forward to 11/8, I was charged an additional $6,300. I called and they told me their accounting department would handle it in 7-10 business days. I've reached out to AMEX and they're on standby to dispute the charge if necessary. I am highly disappointed with the Ritz-Carlton for the mismanagement of my credit card while I was on vacation. This has left a really bad taste in my mouth for the Ritz and I was hoping for a better stay with the reputation they have. $1,680 a night and breakfast isn't even included! My vacation was completely ruined due to the relocation and the stress I was caused by the thousands of dollars worth of charges. I don't expect to be compensated for my bad experience. I just wish to have my experience shared.

My husband and I chose The Seagate for our wedding weekend, and we were incredibly disappointed. We do not recommend this hotel and strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

We notified the staff both in advance and upon arrival that it was our wedding weekend. Despite this, we did not receive even a simple congratulations—let alone any of the gestures one would expect from a five-star luxury resort, such as a bottle of champagne, flowers on the bed, or even a room upgrade. The lack of acknowledgment alone fell far short of expectations.

The night before our wedding, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the fire alarm went off and the entire building was evacuated. This was extremely upsetting, especially given that we needed to be awake just a few hours later for our wedding day. The staff made no effort to acknowledge or remedy this disruption, despite being fully aware of the significance of our stay.

To make matters worse, WE WERE CHARGED TWICE for our room. We prepaid for the stay through our credit card’s travel portal. Upon arrival, we were asked to provide a credit card for incidentals, which we did. After checking out, we discovered an additional charge of approximately $1,000 placed on that card—effectively billing us twice for the same room.

We contacted The Seagate to resolve the issue and were told they could not help and that we needed to contact our credit card company. After spending 45 minutes on the phone, the credit card company confirmed that The Seagate had already been paid in full and that this additional charge was unauthorized. We called the hotel multiple times afterward and were unable to reach a manager. We also sent an email over a week ago and have received no response. We were promised a manager call-back, which never happened. The charge still remains.

Between the lack of service, the major disruption before our wedding, and the unresolved double charge, this was an extremely disappointing experience at what claims to be a luxury resort. We have stayed at far nicer and more accommodating properties. This whole experience has been frustrating and disappointing.

We would not recommend The Seagate to anyone. Please stay far away.

From the beginning, our stay was marked by repeated issues with the front desk that suggested a broader breakdown in training, judgment, and oversight.

Before check-in, a simple question about early check-in was met with condescension rather than clear communication by one of the valet drivers (the rest of the valet drivers were kind).

On our first night, we discovered the wrong credit card had been charged. I went to the front desk to correct it and was assured it was fixed. It was not.

Later that night, we were woken near midnight due to a false report from a neighboring room regarding a conjoining door while we were asleep. The situation was handled without verification, without checking the doors, and without reconciling the timeline. We were implicitly treated as though we had done something wrong, including an unsupported suggestion that our dog may have caused the issue.

The following morning only compounded matters. We interacted with yet another front desk staff member whose approach was dismissive rather than empathetic. Despite requesting management involvement, no manager, no director of operations, and no front desk director were available for hours. I left my contact information, but no manager ever reached out. It was not until around 10am that a front desk director became available.

Because we no longer felt comfortable, we requested to leave early. An apology came much later, but by then it was too late to meaningfully repair the experience.

Days after departure, we received a folio showing the wrong card still charged and two nights billed that we had been told would be refunded, requiring further correction.

Any one of these issues could have been addressed. Taken together, they reflect a consistent lack of accountability and leadership at the front desk. With better oversight and timely care, this stay could have turned out very differently.

Home from Delray and our stay at the Seagate. I can't wait to go back! We encountered so many great staff members in our stay. From Juan at the beach club (thanks for the olives), Josefa on the pool deck, Sophie and Dan on drink patrol on the beach, Lukas on beach set up, Joseph at the Venetian bar and of course Austin at the side desk in the lobby-everyone made our stay amazing! The rooms are great, love the daily bottled water, the shuttle to the beach or a restaurant made getting places easy! If you want to stay at a place that is within walking distance of the beach and great restaurants, come to the Seagate!!!

Looking at all the hotels in Delray, this has been by far, my spouse and I’s favorite choice. From the moment we stepped in we were greeted by Johnathan who went above and beyond to make our stay one to remember. Celebrating our “babymoon” before the birth of our baby, he considered a quiet room with a detailed stay that was comfortable and thoughtful. We couldn’t be more grateful for the hospitality, cleanliness, and attentiveness we received. Thank you to Johnathan & staff as well from Bourbon Steakhouse ( a must visit ) to the beach club experience. Seagate will be a staple in our stays moving forward!
