Your Guide to Florida’s Most Romantic Hotels
Planning an anniversary or Valentine’s escape to Florida means finding a hotel that actually understands romance. The city you pick sets the scene, but it’s the property itself that makes the difference between a good trip and one you’ll remember for years.
The hotels below specialize in couples’ getaways across Florida. You’ll find beachfront resorts in Delray Beach and Fort Lauderdale with private beach access and spa services, adults-only inns along Destin’s Emerald Coast where peace and quiet come standard, historic boutique properties in Key West’s Old Town that feel intimate, and upscale options in Miami‘s Coconut Grove and Brickell neighborhoods with rooftop pools and city views. These places get what matters for romantic stays–champagne on arrival, rose petal turndowns, couples’ massage packages you don’t have to track down yourself.
The range covers different budgets and styles. Some properties run around $120 a night in places like Navarre or Tampa and still deliver on the romantic vibe. Others reach $700+ in Bal Harbour or Marco Island and bring private beaches, full-service spas, and the extras that turn anniversaries into something memorable. St. Augustine’s historic inns offer gourmet breakfasts and Old World charm, while Orlando‘s Grande Lakes resorts add championship golf and tropical grounds. A few even include private in-room hot tubs for couples who want that level of privacy. What ties them all together is the focus on creating the right atmosphere–comfortable king beds, thoughtful soundproofing, and details like in-room breakfast or chocolates when you’re celebrating.
This is different from browsing general hotel options in a city. These properties focus specifically on getting romance right, whether that means oceanfront balconies, intimate garden settings, or adults-only policies that keep things peaceful.

Alex helped us up to our room after check in, he was great!!!
Margo at the pool was incredibly friendly and attentive. She chatted with us about where we were from etc. She was the sweetest! Valet staff and check in staff, including manager Tiego was great!!
Area is walkable to bal harbor shops which has some higher end shopping along with restaurants etc.

The service was outstanding across the board, but Alex at the beach deserves special recognition. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. From setting us up comfortably to checking in regularly and anticipating our needs, Alex went above and beyond to make our beach experience effortless and enjoyable. His positive attitude and professionalism really stood out and made a lasting impression.
The staff throughout the hotel consistently demonstrated the high level of hospitality the Ritz-Carlton is known for. Everyone was warm, accommodating, and eager to help, making us feel welcome and well taken care of at all times.
Overall, this was a truly memorable stay. We can’t wait to return.

The service truly stood out. The staff was consistently friendly, professional, and attentive, making sure every need was met without ever feeling intrusive. I want to specifically highlight Alex Suarez, whose level of service was exceptional. His attentiveness, professionalism, and strong work ethic especially for his age, were genuinely impressive. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and made the experience feel personal and memorable.
From the beach to the service, everything exceeded expectations. This stay was nothing short of excellent, and I would absolutely return and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top tier luxury experience.

One of my favorite aspects of the hotel is its location: tucked away in Bal Harbour, away from the hustle and bustle yet close to everything. I also loved the partnership with Exhale Spa—the classes and spa services were incredible and made our stay even more relaxing.
The hotel features a beautiful pool and offers a great breakfast on the terrace. During our stay, they also hosted an Art Basel exhibition with a reception, which definitely elevated the experience.
Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel, and I would definitely return for another relaxing and comfortable stay.

She surprised us with a personalized handwritten card, a beautiful balloon, and a delicious chocolate truffle gift for my sister, along with a lovely welcome drink that set the perfect tone for our stay. The hotel itself is already incredible, with only two rooms per floor, making it feel even more exclusive and private. But it was Alexendra’s kindness and attention to detail that really made our stay unforgettable.
It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about making guests feel special, but she did exactly that. If you’re staying at The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, I highly recommend looking for Alexendra—she’s a gem!
Thank you again, Alexendra, for making this such a memorable experience!

The view is incredible, the neighborhood seems exclusive and quiet, the rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated. The elevators open up to two? three? rooms per floor, which makes it extremely private.
To highlight details on the remarkable service received here:
We arrived tired and hungry after the drive from Key West at around midnight. As soon as we drove up, we were greeted warmly along with bottles of water and inquiries about how our trip over was and if we needed anything. When I asked about food options, our bellman (Alex, if I remember correctly) immediately let us know that the kitchen was about to close, and that he would do what he can so that we have food before going to bed. He proceeded to run in to the building, facilitating with the front desk team, so that we could order food from the lobby, even before check-in.
After a wonderful check-in experience, Alex took us to our room and went over the functions. Check out was also very memorable, Ana was also very amiable, and really made an effort to connect on a more personal level. It worked! A year later, I still remember.
The only downside would possibly be that the lobby doesn’t feel very “grand” (personal opinion), and the breakfast buffet felt simple at best. Maybe ordering à la carte is the way to go.
My stay was about a year from today, so this review is extremely overdue, but I wanted to remember it and share it. Hope not much has changed, for my future visits to come. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

The most disappointing part of the stay was a poorly handled security concern in the middle of the night. Around midnight, our family was rudely awaken by a loud party happening in the room next door (mind you, most floors only have two rooms). There were several intoxicated people going in and out, standing in hallways, playing music, screaming, and crying with no consideration. After calling the front desk multiple times for assistance, security was not able to handle the situation, and my family was forced to haul all of our belongings into a new room on a different floor - we were instructed not to leave anything behind to pick up in the morning. Even though the staff had apologized for not being able to do anything, there was no effort to "make it right" then and when we checked out.
Overall, it was a failure on many levels and is making me think twice about continuing with Marriott as a travel partner in the future.

I liked the fact that the elevator went right up to our room entrance. ( just another room was next to us) no walking down a long corridor.

We notified the staff both in advance and upon arrival that it was our wedding weekend. Despite this, we did not receive even a simple congratulations—let alone any of the gestures one would expect from a five-star luxury resort, such as a bottle of champagne, flowers on the bed, or even a room upgrade. The lack of acknowledgment alone fell far short of expectations.
The night before our wedding, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the fire alarm went off and the entire building was evacuated. This was extremely upsetting, especially given that we needed to be awake just a few hours later for our wedding day. The staff made no effort to acknowledge or remedy this disruption, despite being fully aware of the significance of our stay.
To make matters worse, WE WERE CHARGED TWICE for our room. We prepaid for the stay through our credit card’s travel portal. Upon arrival, we were asked to provide a credit card for incidentals, which we did. After checking out, we discovered an additional charge of approximately $1,000 placed on that card—effectively billing us twice for the same room.
We contacted The Seagate to resolve the issue and were told they could not help and that we needed to contact our credit card company. After spending 45 minutes on the phone, the credit card company confirmed that The Seagate had already been paid in full and that this additional charge was unauthorized. We called the hotel multiple times afterward and were unable to reach a manager. We also sent an email over a week ago and have received no response. We were promised a manager call-back, which never happened. The charge still remains.
Between the lack of service, the major disruption before our wedding, and the unresolved double charge, this was an extremely disappointing experience at what claims to be a luxury resort. We have stayed at far nicer and more accommodating properties. This whole experience has been frustrating and disappointing.
We would not recommend The Seagate to anyone. Please stay far away.

Before check-in, a simple question about early check-in was met with condescension rather than clear communication by one of the valet drivers (the rest of the valet drivers were kind).
On our first night, we discovered the wrong credit card had been charged. I went to the front desk to correct it and was assured it was fixed. It was not.
Later that night, we were woken near midnight due to a false report from a neighboring room regarding a conjoining door while we were asleep. The situation was handled without verification, without checking the doors, and without reconciling the timeline. We were implicitly treated as though we had done something wrong, including an unsupported suggestion that our dog may have caused the issue.
The following morning only compounded matters. We interacted with yet another front desk staff member whose approach was dismissive rather than empathetic. Despite requesting management involvement, no manager, no director of operations, and no front desk director were available for hours. I left my contact information, but no manager ever reached out. It was not until around 10am that a front desk director became available.
Because we no longer felt comfortable, we requested to leave early. An apology came much later, but by then it was too late to meaningfully repair the experience.
Days after departure, we received a folio showing the wrong card still charged and two nights billed that we had been told would be refunded, requiring further correction.
Any one of these issues could have been addressed. Taken together, they reflect a consistent lack of accountability and leadership at the front desk. With better oversight and timely care, this stay could have turned out very differently.
