Upon arrival (around 10:45pm) the lobby smelled great- a little heavy the scent plug ins but it smelled good. The staff was very kind. We stayed in room 204- two queen beds. Both mattress were exposed when we entered the room making the stains on the mattress the first thing we see. No mattress protectors and heavily stained mattresses… yikes. The room also smelled like lingering body odor. The bathroom has mold growing in the corners and on the grout which is a health concern. My family of 5 all had some sort of sinus/allergy problems and headaches the next morning when we didn’t have any symptoms upon arriving. Our booking was from Saturday night 12/20- Monday morning 12/22. We ended up checking out Sunday 12/21 around 1:30pm and did not stay our full booking due to the uncleanliness of the room.
I'm a local, & getting everything you want in 1 hotel is hard to find. I live on the south side of town, & this hotel is an upgrade. I'm satisfied with the local laquinta. But, this is a nice change. I gave them 5 stars bc they actually have a jacuzzi, & their pool room is actually heated. The breakfast is not just eatable. I actually enjoyed it. I told the front desk how good it was. The 4 star on location is bc I just don't like the crowdedness of the north side of town. I'm a simple person, & this hotel is a great pick in Longview, alongside Hilton. Just cheaper. It should have a higher rating, but I guess alot of unappreciative ppl come through it. Shame. 🥰🥰🥰💯 Update: The breakfast ain't good everyday. I was looking foward to the omelet, only to get there & see la quinta style breakfast. It's where I only get a waffle, then jave 2 buy something elsewhere. It won't hurt y'all to give a quality breakfast everyday since we pay more for these rooms. The juice is watery bc it's fake, & the eggs are FLAVORLESS. Just serve omlets every day. They are delicious. I can get full for what I pay for.
I was in town for 1 week helping to cover at a local hospital. The location and general aesthetic was nice. The front desk staff were generally kind and responsive.
During the week, it hit 5 days and 4 nights without anyone changing towels/cleaning the room. When I asked the front desk, they stated it was an every other day service. It was done that day and not again despite no "do not disturb" sign on the door.
The first alarm went off 3 mornings and this evening and it is deafening. I presume the morning has to do with cooking breakfast and poor ventilation. For this to happen 4 times in a week seems like this is a chronic issue and nobody is addressing it. My ears a literally still ringing 10 minutes after it just went off.
My key card stopped working 3 times in the first 3 days, requiring me to go back down to the front desk to get it reactivated. It was not near a phone or anything of that sort. I requested a new card and had no more issues.
If I return for another week, while the location is great, I will try a different hotel.
I want to give a huge shout out to Keima, one of the housekeepers at the Hampton Inn in Longview, Texas. Keima is truly an outstanding employee and a genuine asset to the hotel. Every interaction with her has been nothing short of amazing.
She goes above and beyond to make sure rooms are spotless, comfortable, and welcoming. You can tell she takes real pride in her work—every detail is noticed, and she always carries herself with professionalism and care.
On top of her excellent work, Keima is genuinely a sweetheart. Her kindness and warm energy make guests feel appreciated and at home. It’s rare to find someone who not only does their job at such a high level but also brings such positivity to everyone around her.
If you’re staying at the Hampton Inn in Longview, you’re in good hands thanks to Keima. She deserves all the recognition and more!
They are aware of the little issues they have. Should be resolved soon with the remodeling and great staff. We actually went at a bad time when they were full and they needed more time to get out rooms ready but by 5-6 pm we were all taken care of. Staff was always willing to help or give assistance. Not bad little breakfast every morning.
Rooms great, breakfast great, clean, comfortable, ease of checking in and out, great location right off i20. Service got a low star because there was a man with a big dirty dog going to almost every single person taking up their entire breakfast time talking and the dog was in the dining area and the holding area for the food just so he could talk to someone and the staff did and said nothing. I find that to be gross. If he was getting food with a service animal then I might understand.
My stay was a few days. I gave a five every where but only a 3 for a whole due to the hotel being great but there was a person staying there that made my stay a little less than stellar. It was an older man with a lovely large dog that made me feel uncomfortable by how he stared at me and other people. I watched him go and talk to almost every person he could, as long as he could, so I couldn't stay down stairs and eat as long as I wanted to, sadly it was every day. But otherwise this hotel was a fantastic find!! Will definitely return.
Excellent rooms, so clean. Matt, was at the front desk when we checked in after 9pm and was so kind and welcoming. The fitness room was excellent. Breakfast was ok, not the best we have seen, but we are towards the end of service.
I've been staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Longview off of I-20. I am so impressed by the staff By their cleanliness and By their greeting me and talking to me, And as a Handicap veteran, They treat me and my dog as if family. I am so impressed by their attitude And how they treat people. Donna In her staff Are the best I've ever had, and I have stayed at Marriotts and Hilton's. I will stay at this holiday Express any day of the week. Thier biscuts and gravy are the best...
It is right off the highway. We have been on a 1500-mile family vacation. Just stopped here to sleep. It had the most comfortable bed on the entire trip. The free breakfast was very limited. The kids ate waffles, they probably would have eaten the same thing if the selection had been larger. We didn't get to check out the pool. I would definitely stay there again. It was a little over 100 bucks
