I find that reviews are so deceiving, a person needs to read between the lines with a lot of people's postings of what they are actually complaining about. My only complaint would be the location, and that is not the motel owners fault. The road has been re routed from what the main street would have been when this building was built. The GPS device I was using had a hard time locating this location. The room was clean, staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. I would stay here again.

The desk attendant was super nice and accommodating when we arrived. The room was clean and ready for us to crash after a long day of travel. Unfortunately, the people beside us were quite loud and spooked our dog often thru the night. The location is good, with many convenience options close by. Hotel entrance/exit is a little quirky but tolerable.

I wish all hotels were as great as this one. Nice and friendly staff. Low prices for great rooms. Military discount. I really loved the shower. The bathtub was textured so you won't slip around and there is a bar to hold on to so you don't slip getting in and out of the tub. The bed was very comfortable. I did not like the pillows because they were too soft but that is my only complaint. I was very impressed. It was clean and quiet and I enjoyed staying there.

Not very clean throughout the room, bathrooms are very outdated but don't look it. Weird rust in the toilet and all around the bathroom- have to hold the handle down to make sure it flushes all the way.

Very loud and chaotic all throughout the evening and night. Cops got called during our stay because of it and somebody being reckless from 2:00 a.m. to about 3:00 a.m.

Pool area was quite gross. Wads of hair all around and food and trash everywhere." Spa" AKA the hot tub was unable to be used because there was no direction or it just wasn't working but it gives reckless uncared about motel pretending to be a hotel.. definitely not worth the cost

Today I encounter the worst customer service ever!! My son’s birthday was yesterday so we decided to take the kids swimming. When we got to our room after our swim we noticed the Circuit Breaker must’ve went out because we no longer had any electricity whatsoever. I had been at the pool for awhile so my phone was dead and we were unable to call to report the issue. I went and sat at the front desk that night for about 15 minutes with no one around so i decided to head back to our room and mention it at check out if not fixed by then since I had small children in the room one with a disability. That next morning When I spoke to the lady at the front desk over the phone she immediately became hostile. Told me she couldn’t help me because I yelled at her for being so rude. I then had words with her during check out which her mother must’ve been a manager or owner because she came out very aggressive yelling like they both wanted to fight. The receptionist came from around the corner got in my face then proceeded to call the police on me for asking for a small discount on the next visit or complimentary something just for not having electricity the entire night. I highly do not recommend ever staying here especially if you African American. They are VERY very racist and very rude and unprofessional and not to mention how disgusting the pool water was! just all around horrible experience, 0/10 highly un recommended! They need to learn to treat people with respect, empathy and professionalism which they absolutely do not!! Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had!

Older hotel. Time for carpet and furniture update!

We have stayed here a few times over the years. It has been a good place to stay. It is awesome for kids because of the pool.

Big stain at the foot of the bed...man, get a carpet cleaner, eh? Maybe use it to clean the food stains in the arm of the couch too. Finally tried to sit on the couch but it was very uncomfortable because it was worn out.

Think it is time for ownership to spend some money or sell it to someone who will.

My recent one-night stay at the AmericInn by Wyndham Janesville was one of the worst hotel experiences in recent memory. The shower did not drain; inches of water remained the following morning. The shower head was clogged from caked on hard water buildup. The hallways stank of tobacco. The bed was extremely firm. The linens were rough as starched sandpaper. On a king size bed, there were four pillows that measured only 18"x18", and were all hard and lumpy. The couch in the room smelled of body odor and sank into itself with even a feather's weight. There were numerous brown, splattered stains on the walls and ceiling. There was one bar of soap provided for both handwashing and bathing use. Excessive dust buildup covered surfaces like the top shelf of the closet and top of the shower curtain bar. No body lotion was stocked in the room. The desk chair was covered in crumbs upon check in. The air conditioner did not work properly; when set at 66*F it struggled to cool the room even down to 70 (the weather that weekend was around H 75 L 50). Staff at the front desk used profanity in front of a family with small children. The stairwells, hallways, and parking lot were strewn with loose garbage. And several of the chairs in the breakfast room were stained and sticky after first opening in the morning.

On a positive note: the food at breakfast was of decent quality and was sufficiently stocked at the start of service. The refrigerator in my room was clean and in working order. The brand of soap/shampoo/conditioner supplied to my room had a pleasant scent and provided a gentle clean. There was good water pressure and hot water quickly flowed from the tap. And front-desk staff was prompt to arrive when called by buzzer.

I will not be staying at this location again, and will actively warn friends and family traveling to the area to avoid the AmericInn in Janesville.

If you like cheap mold smelling hotels then this is your new found home. Lobby area was fine. Hallway to room 108 was absolutely horrendous with mold smell. 108 was more not as bad smelling but bit was present. Adjoining rooms with paper thin walls. After 3 hours of listening to a scream kid/kids and an equally loud parent? Plus 3 trips to front desk to make complaints we got moved at 0045am to another room on third floor. This room has same mold smell but not neatly as strong. Both rooms had decent beds and appointments but was dated. Very dated. If memory serves me I think this a Holiday Inn at one time, or a midway motor lodge. Can’t exactly remember. I moved out of area in 1988.
