Stayed here while on business and Kayla was awesome! She allowed me to check in early and gave me some tips on what to do around town. Thanks again and will be back if in the area 🙂

I stayed at the Comfort Suites in Vicksburg, Mississippi during the first week of December with my children. I booked through Priceline.

Upon entering our room during the first stay, we were immediately met with a very strong odor of mold. Within minutes, my eight-year-old child experienced an asthma attack. Upon closer inspection, I observed visible green mold around an outlet and black mold in the corner of the room. I notified the front desk right away and was moved to a different room on another floor, which was acceptable. That stay ended without further issue.

The following week, against my better judgment, I booked the same hotel again, assuming there was no possibility we would be placed in the same room. Unfortunately, we were assigned that exact room. I informed the front desk employee—who also happened to be present during the first incident—that I could not stay in that room due to the prior mold issue. I was told the hotel was fully booked and that nothing could be done. When I requested a refund so I could stay elsewhere, I was told I would have to go through Priceline and that the hotel would not assist me.

Due to the health risk, especially given my child’s asthma, I did not enter the room again and instead secured lodging at another hotel at additional expense. Priceline later informed me that the property manager refused a refund three times because I did not re-enter the room to verify whether the mold had been remediated. No proof of remediation was provided, and at no point during my interaction at the hotel was I told the room had been fixed.

I escalated the issue to Comfort Suites corporate, where two representatives apologized and acknowledged that this experience did not meet brand standards. Unfortunately, because this location is independently owned, corporate was unable to require a refund.

It is extremely disappointing that management felt it was appropriate to assign a family—especially one with a documented prior issue—to the same room with known mold concerns, then refuse assistance or accountability. I gave this property a second chance and was met with indifference. I would strongly caution families, particularly those with respiratory sensitivities, before staying here.

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel and the room had been dirty. This time my bathroom had vomit left unclean on the toilet, tub was dirty with hair all on the counter. I said something to the front desk and they told me it was nothing they can do but clean my room.I had booked through a third party was her excuse.I will never stay here again. Service is horrible people are rude and rooms are half ass cleaned.

We checked in this hotel on yesterday, September 13 found a BED BUG in the bed. We did not stay there. They refuse to refund us and we have stayed at this property several times and we are loyal customers. The room also has a weird smell. Front manager was rude and hung up on me when I tried to followed up. If I could give zero stars I would.

Overall, my experience at this hotel was okay, but there were a few major misses. First, the key card reader for our room never worked properly. We went through about four sets of keys, yet every time we needed to get into our room, the front desk staff had to use a device to unlock the door for us. From what I was told, this seems to be a common issue at the property.

The room itself was fairly basic. I’d rate it around a 6 out of 10 in terms of cleanliness and amenities.

However, the most inexcusable thing was the postcard placed on the desk. It read, “A Quick Hello From Vicksburg, MS,” but the photo on it wasn’t taken in Vicksburg. I grew up here, and I can say with certainty that nothing in town looks like the picture shown. It comes across as pure laziness by whoever designed the card. Vicksburg is a historic town with plenty of tourist appeal, and there’s no shortage of authentic local photos that could have been used, even from a quick Google search.

We always look for interesting places to stay across the South as we travel frequently from Texas to Florida and back. We loved the Corners. Macy was a great host, friendly and accommodating. She got up early to provide us a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and fruit to accommodate our need for an early departure. Guest house was clean and comfortable. We look forward to our next stay.
