Gorgeous hotel with well-appointed rooms and a first class staff that should make Sir B proud. Close to downtown, great restaurant and coffee shop on site, and more within a short walk. Common areas are well thought out and designed to give guests plenty of options outside of their rooms.
I’ve stayed at the virgin hotel now about 3-4 times and each and every time I find things that I love and some that I hate. One of those being the service and certain policies that they don’t tell you about until you arrive on location. Such as their photography policy which you aren’t allowed to take any photos with a professional camera’s unless you schedule it. Which is fine. Notice would’ve been appreciated because I’m sure many people are attracted to the location for this reason. Additionally, as nice as the valet are I think they need more staff and better ways to handle others luggage. I have seen my luggage placed on the ground. Left on the cart in the middle of the road. This place can be a much better hotel!
Best weekend ever! Everyone at the hotel was amazing. Went there for a friends' reunion and the hotel treated us like VIPs. From our Friday reception to dinner on Saturday to extra touches throughout the weekend, the service, hotel staff and facilities were top-notch. Jordan Fatheree, the hotel's Director of Events, was outstanding throughout the entire event process. And check out the fabulous Drag Brunch! A special shout-out to Queen Duvet who was making her Drag Brunch debut. I will definitely be back!
First time staying at a Virgin Hotel, probably the best experience! Now it has me wanting to go on one of their cruises ! Overall great experience and wish they had more locations ! The food is amazing in their restaurant and the room feels like a home. Will always recommend this line to others!
Very pleasantly surprised. Never stayed in a Virgin brand hotel before and it exceeded my expectations. Rooms were moderately but well sized and cleverly & spaciously laid out. Decor was fresh, fashionable and funky. Pool and bar upstairs were great, downstairs coffee shop and breakfast good too. All in all a fantastic stay. It all had a very cheeky, Brit-pop vibe to it which was great.
Almost missed out on this amazing room, but a quick online comparison, especially on HoteIDuIIy.cᴏm, got me a real catch. Absolutely loved the service and location of this hotel. The front staff was great and added a special surprise for my 40th birthday. The room itself was the only let down being quite worn down. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the jetted tub is definitely big enough for two people which we did enjoy. However, rest of the room was fraying and peeling. I do believe they are still updating the property so that's a plus. Nearby had a couple great stops including Londoners Pub and People's Last stand.
Upon arriving at night, lobby is welcoming and warm with high ceilings and dim lighting. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, when you enter the elevator you are hit with a funky smell that gets much stronger when you arrive at your floor. The hotel is old, musty, and outdated. The funky, dirty smell is just too much to handle. This hotel still has a tub for a shower. The AC is loud. All the furniture in my room was BEAT UP- paint marks, stains, missing hardware on the cabinets. The bed feels clean. The towels are crusty and hard. I received replacement towels that were just as old and crusty as the original batch and the wash clothes were also stained. There are dusty bunnies behind the side table. I was able to open a window in the room which helped alleviate the dense air but not surprisingly the funk. It is still there. It lives in the carpet. The room was spacious. I would never stay here again, despite the lovely staff. It’s too grimly for me!
Never greeted. Manager actually lied about room availability. We pulled up the Hilton app and showed her we found a better room for $400 cheaper. Dirty rooms. Dried urine on bathroom floor. Candy wrappers behind the one chair in the "suite." Individually wrapped coffee condiments had been used. They were missing the stir sticks. Security was sent to my room at 10pm "because there was a complaint somewhere on the floor." I was alone in my room! The on site steakhouse, Knife, was so bad that we didn't eat most of the items ordered, including a $205 steak. I tried but it was inedible. The manager apologized and said the staff just wasn't adequately trained. It should have been a sign that it was 7p on Saturday and the restaurant was only about half capacity. They claimed to be a top 10 Dallas steakhouse. I am not exaggerating when I say that The Texas Roadhouse is a better steakhouse. The only saving grace is that Mockingbird Station is across the street. Be careful trying to get there though! Overall, steer clear from this location.
We enjoyed our stay. The lobby has been redone and the rooms have had a little work but the carpets are questionable and the bathrooms are super dated. Our shower tub was old and the showerhead was spattering. The pool was lovely so we enjoyed that and walking around the M Streets neighborhood nearby. Having Mockingbird Station right across the street is nice.
Service was top notch! The room was... meh. It was pretty expensive but the finishings were not what you'd expect for the prices. The decor was also odd. There was a bull's head immediately over the toilet that could have easily startled me had the room light not been on. I also got a room right by the elevator and it was quite loud as the voices carried through the walls at normal talking volume. Location was great though
The best time to visit Dallas is in the spring (March to May) or fall (September to November). You’ll get mild weather, blooming parks, and fewer crowds — perfect for sightseeing, outdoor dining, and enjoying hotels with hot tubs in the room. Summers can be extremely hot and winters are unpredictable, so shoulder seasons are your safest bet.
