Explore Los Angeles: Top Spots, Eats, and Hotel Picks
LA’s one of those cities where you can hit the beach in the morning and be hiking in the mountains by afternoon. The food scene is insane, the weather’s pretty much always good, and if you book a hotel with a Jacuzzi in the room, you’ve basically won the vacation lottery.
Attractions Worth Checking Out
- Universal Studios Hollywood is touristy but actually fun. The Harry Potter section is really well done, and if you’ve never been on the studio tour, it’s worth it at least once. They show you actual sets and explain how movies get made.
- The Getty Museum is free to get into, which is wild considering how nice it is. You just pay for parking. The building itself is almost cooler than the art, and the gardens are actually relaxing. Go on a weekday if you can, because weekends get packed.
- Griffith Observatory is another free spot with crazy views of the city and the Hollywood Sign. You can look through telescopes at night, and if you’re into hiking, the trails around there range from easy to “why did I wear these shoes.”
- Venice Beach is worth checking out for the boardwalk alone. Street performers, Muscle Beach, weird shops – it’s a whole scene. Just don’t leave anything valuable in your car.
Where to Eat or Drink
- Bestia is really good, you’ll think about their pizza weeks later. It’s in the Arts District, which has gotten really cool in the past few years. You need reservations way in advance, though, because everyone knows about it now.
- If you want fancy sushi with an ocean view, Nobu Malibu is the move. It’s expensive, but you’re paying for the experience as much as the food. Celebrity spotting is a real possibility.
- The Abbey in West Hollywood is legendary for nightlife. It’s massive, the patio is heated, and their Sunday brunch is actually really good.
- For late-night food, Leo’s Tacos on La Brea is where you want to be. The al pastor tacos at 2 AM after a night out? Perfect.
Top Picks for Hotels with Hot Tubs in the Room
- Best for Couples: Lemon Tree Hotel and Suites has Jacuzzis right in the bedrooms, and they’re actually big enough for two people. Some hotel hot tubs are basically bathtubs with jets, but these are legit. They throw in champagne when you arrive, too.
- Best Value: Casa Blanca Hotel & Suites won’t destroy your budget, and you still get the in-room hot tub situation. Free breakfast and parking are huge because both of those things are stupid expensive in LA otherwise.
Nearby Cities for Jacuzzi Suites
- Santa Barbara is about 90 miles northwest and feels way more chill than LA. Lots of wine tasting, Spanish architecture, and beaches that aren’t shoulder to shoulder with people. Hotels there have Jacuzzi suites too, and the whole town has this relaxed vacation vibe.
- San Diego is two hours southeast – it’s got the zoo, Balboa Park, better beaches than LA, honestly, and a bunch of hotels with beachfront Jacuzzi suites.
LA gives you a million options. Get a hotel room with a Jacuzzi, spend your days exploring, come back and soak while you plan tomorrow. That’s how you do it.

Bring your phone for hot spot. Otherwise, leave your laptop or tablet behind.
Most places I’ve stayed at (Hilton, other Best Western locations) start breakfast at 6 a.m., especially near the airport. During my one-week stay, I wasn’t able to eat breakfast at all because of the later start time. For me, that was a downside, since I travel to this area often. A 7 a.m. start feels quite late compared to other hotels.
Other than that I love this place

I think they have new managers or owners. Every time we've stayed at this hotel there's a new set of employees at the desk. Other hotels we've stayed at multiple times, there's at least one or two employees that you recognize from the last stay. Not here.
I've called 7 times now trying to reach the manager. He is always out, and they give me his voicemail. I've left at least 3 voicemails now and he has not called me back. I have photos of the bites all over my arms/neck/back that are time stamped. I was trying to handle this privately and avoid leaving a bad review because the staff there were amazing and the rest of our experience was fine, but the manager there clearly does not care about health standards. I will update this review if the manager ever decides to get back to me and make it right. Also reporting to the CA health inspectors office.
Cleanliness of the bathroom was extremely lacking. The bathroom jacuzzi whirlpool we were excited about was unusable because it was disgusting. I wish I would’ve gotten pictures I was shocked they left it that gross. The jets have red/brown buildup in them. I can’t imagine what nasty stuff would’ve come out if we used the jets. The toilet was dirty on the part where the seat hinges to the toilet— like really gross I wiped it myself.
Luckily, the bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean so I’m really happy about that! The pillows however— seem like they’re 10 years old. There is what looks like a skid mark on the couch.
Breakfast is the part that disappointed us the most, mostly the service. It was okay, but the only protein options were microwaved bacon with a hair in it. On the second day- it was warmed up deli lunch meat ham?? Strange. And the worker was incredibly disrespectful and rude. Breakfast stuff was being taken away from people WHILE they/we were currently making food at the counter grabbing things, and it was not even 9:30 yet, at 9:20 the butter spray for the waffle maker was already gone.. all that did was create more of a mess for her to clean. I get breakfast closes at 9:30 but it wasn’t EVEN 9:30 yet, and I was in line waiting behind someone to make a waffle after them and she takes all the silverware and plates. It’s unacceptable to clean up early, especially with people waiting for the waffle machine that has no butter. She turned off the juice machine, took away the milk and bowls and people were putting cereal in the waffle batter cups. Just so rude in my opinion, it felt like a power trip of taking food and stuff from people who were already in the process of trying to eat. It was very weird and frustrating. I’ve never experienced that any hotel before. If she wants to get off earlier she should get a different job, on top of that she was talking on the phone with her AirPod in which made her even more unapproachable.
