Explore Columbus: Top Spots, Eats, and Hotel Picks
Columbus surprises people. Most folks don’t expect Ohio’s capital to have much going on. They’re wrong. Museums are solid. River parks are nice. Food scene punches above its weight. A hotel room with a Jacuzzi makes the whole weekend better after you’ve been walking around all day.
Attractions Worth Checking Out
- Franklin Park Conservatory stays green even when it’s freezing outside. Different rooms have different climates–Pacific islands in one, desert in another, rainforest somewhere else. The butterfly house gets the most attention. Butterflies just land on you sometimes. Sounds touristy, but it’s actually peaceful.
- The Columbus Museum of Art doesn’t try to compete with New York or Chicago. It knows what it is. Good American collection, some European stuff, contemporary pieces mixed in. George Bellows, a Columbus native, painted here. There’s a Wonder Room where you make your own art, which seems gimmicky until you try it and realize it’s kind of fun.
- Scioto Mile runs along the downtown riverfront. Summer brings out the fountains–they shoot 30 feet up, kids run through them, and people spread out blankets on the grass. Walking paths connect different neighborhoods. You can cover a lot of ground if you feel like it.
Where to Eat or Drink
- Lindey’s opened in 1981 in German Village and hasn’t changed much. That’s a good thing. Patio seating when it’s warm. Duck confit is their signature dish. Filet mignon runs a close second. Dress decent–not stuffy, but don’t show up in a t-shirt.
- Hot Chicken Takeover brought Nashville heat to Columbus. The Hot level actually means hot. X-Hot is for people who hate their taste buds. They give you white bread and pickles to cool down between bites. Cash only, which annoys some people.
- Seventh Son Brewing cranks out IPAs in the Italian Village. Proliferous IPA wins medals every year. Taproom gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Standing room only sometimes, but that’s part of it.
Top Picks for Hotels with Hot Tubs in the Room
- Best for Couples: CAMBRiA hotel Columbus – Polaris has whirlpool suites right across from Polaris Fashion Place mall. On-site restaurant, massage service, and pool. Good beds, pet-friendly if you’re traveling with a dog.
- Best Value: Baymont by Wyndham Columbus Rickenbacker runs about $55 a night with Jacuzzi rooms. Pool and fitness center included. It’s 10 miles from downtown, but you save money.
- Family-Friendly: Best Western Port Columbus takes pets and has connecting rooms for families. Kids stay free with paying adults, which helps the budget.
Nearby Cities for Jacuzzi Suites
- Dayton‘s 70 miles west. Air Force Museum is massive and free–seriously, it’s one of the best museums in Ohio. Boutique hotels in the area have Jacuzzi suites.
- Toledo‘s farther, 140 miles north, but the Lake Erie waterfront makes up for the drive. Hotels right on the water with hot tubs facing the lake.
Columbus works whether you’re staying two days or five. Book a Jacuzzi room, eat the local food, and see what the city has to offer. You won’t be disappointed.

Google reviews for Columbus hotels with a Jacuzzi and a hot tub in the room

Cons: The ice machine was all the way at the other side of the building, the toilet paper was not the greatest and we had to buy our own. The construction was a little hard to get thru when heading out of the hotel, but that is not their fault.
Still a 5/5 and will definitely choose this hotel again!
Location a bit difficult to find due to construction and street sign missing. Can't do much better than this hotel, I loved it!!!!
Check-in: staff was very polite, professional and helpful
Room: no carpet in our room (I like this as I feel it is easier to clean the LVT), bed was very nice, shower was satisfactory, I really wish there was a vent in the bathroom to clear out steam from the shower.
Breakfast: Many options to choose and we enjoyed our breakfast very much, it felt like a good value.

Woke up to discover our truck had - had the window smashed out and broken into- glass everywhere in and out of vehicle. Vehicle gone thru looking for items to steal.
When going to front desk to report what happened the First Lady said basically nothing - got manager-
Manager said “o ya it’s been happening”
Gave me paper to fill out.
No interest in assisting to make police report, no interest in looking at video surveillance (was told that’s 12 hours to go thru… umm ya fast forward to part people bust my window out maybe 🤷🏻♀️)
Honestly with 3 kids in tow and a life to live I just left - cleaned glass good I could by myself- went and got something at local store to cover window enough to get home as it’s below 30 degrees.
They would not come outside- did not come clean glass out of parking lot- just nothing..
I couldn’t have been calmer or nicer because that’s example I give the kids.. but unfortunately they disappointed on a level that is below zero stars.
I will ensure to never recommend and even steer every person I know to never ever stay or support their hotel- which is a first for me.
Unfortunate.
Most Staff Was Friendly Except The Breakfast Person. Recommend They Warm There Pool More So The Adults Could Atleast Enjoy The Pool.
It's Way Toooo Cold.
Check in was fast and Friendly. I booked it in my wifes name for travel security reasons.
Hotel itslef looked nice and clean.
Rooms were clean at first glance.
Shower had black mold growing on shelf. The sink had had grime in it and needed cleaning by an employee who CARES...not your 5 minutes and its done housekeeping....TRUST ME.
Ive seen a lot of hotels and typically their "FML Attitude" Housekeeping staff is behind the place goimg from "daily cleaning maintenance" to DEEP CLEANING DERVICES REQUIRED!
