Ventura Hot Tub Hotels: Quick Guide

Quick reference for booking a Jacuzzi suite in Ventura and the surrounding area, California

Best Time to Visit

  • Fall (September–November): The warmest and sunniest season on the Ventura coast, as summer marine layer retreats and inland temperatures cool. Excellent weather for the beach, the Channel Islands, and Ojai Valley day trips. Good availability at most properties with pricing easing from summer peaks. A particularly strong season for Ojai wellness stays and Ventura Harbor activities.
  • Summer (June–August): Peak tourist season along the coast, with morning fog that typically burns off by midday. Ventura Pier, Ventura Harbor Village, and the Channel Islands see highest visitor traffic. Homewood Suites Oxnard/Camarillo and Blue Iguana Inn Ojai book well ahead for summer weekends. Book 4–6 weeks ahead for July and August stays.
  • Spring (March–May): Mild coastal weather with wildflower blooms in the Ojai Valley and Channel Islands. Whale watching season is active through spring. Good availability across most properties, with moderate pricing. An excellent season for combining a beach stay with Ojai Valley exploration.
  • Winter (December–February): Cool and occasionally rainy, but still mild by national standards. The quietest season, offering the lowest pricing of the year. Ojai's Topa Topa Mountains often have dramatic clouds and green hillsides after winter rains. Good season for budget travelers and those who want the coast largely to themselves.
Booking tip: Ventura sits on Highway 101 between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, making it a popular road trip stop and weekend escape from LA. Friday and Sunday nights see elevated demand as LA-area travelers head up the coast. For the best rates, book mid-week stays when possible. The Channel Islands National Park visitor center is in Ventura Harbor, and Island Packers boats depart from here, so plan accordingly if island visits are on your itinerary.

Important Booking Tips for Ventura

  • Confirm the exact room type: Jacuzzi and spa tub rooms are specific upgrade categories at Ventura area hotels. Look for "Jacuzzi Suite," "Spa Room," "Hot Tub King," or "Whirlpool Suite" when booking. At Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites, these are premium room types not available in all rooms.
  • Ojai vs. Ventura coast: The Ojai Valley is about 30 minutes inland from Ventura via Highway 33. It has a dramatically different character: mountain scenery, art galleries, spa culture, and the famous "Pink Moment" sunset. Blue Iguana Inn, Ojai Rancho Inn, and Chantico Inn all offer this mountain escape experience. If you want beach access, stay in Ventura city or Mussel Shoals. If you want a wellness retreat, choose Ojai.
  • Highway 101 road trip positioning: Ventura sits on Highway 101 between Los Angeles (about 65 miles south) and Santa Barbara (about 30 miles north). Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn in the Oxnard/Camarillo corridor are positioned directly on the highway, making them practical overnight stops for road trippers. Friday and Sunday nights see elevated demand from LA weekend visitors.
  • Channel Islands access: Island Packers ferries depart from Ventura Harbor to Channel Islands National Park. If visiting the islands, stay close to the harbor. Crystal Lodge Motel, Viking Motel, and Shores Inn are all near the harbor area. Early morning boat departures (typically 7:00 to 8:00 AM) make a nearby hotel essential.
  • Pet-friendly picks: The Pierpont Inn, Hilton Garden Inn Oxnard/Camarillo, Chantico Inn, Blue Iguana Inn, Ojai Rancho Inn, Homewood Suites Oxnard/Camarillo, Mission Bell Motel, Four Seasons Westlake Village, Viking Motel, and Shores Inn all accept pets. Confirm fees and size limits before booking.
  • Free breakfast included: Cliff House Inn on the Ocean, Chantico Inn, Homewood Suites Oxnard/Camarillo, and Shores Inn and Beach Houses all include free breakfast. At coastal pricing levels, this adds meaningful daily value, especially for multi-night stays.

We booked this hotel and were really excited about going. We tested positive for Covid and called them and attempted to reschedule our stay— we didn’t even request a refund just a reschedule. The owner was incredibly rude and refused to reschedule. We tried calling and they never returned our call. It seems like they don’t care about their guests as they would rather us have visited with Covid than reschedule. I recommend staying somewhere else that has better customer service and is more understanding about inevitable complications that might arise. We even offered to show them proof of the positive Covid test

Amazing, amazing, amazing!
My wife and I came here for our anniversary trip and it was amazing!
The Emerald Iguana is tucked into a quiet neighborhood and was perfect. The pool and jacuzzi were great.
Our room was extremely nice and comfortable.
We stayed in the Cricket 2 and it was rad. Two story room. Living room downstairs and king bedroom upstairs.

A charming property with everything you could want. Our room was more like a detached casita, with a private patio. It was large enough to accommodate a king bed, leather chairs by the gas fireplace, bath and kitchenette nook. Amenities included coffeemaker, toaster, mini-fridge, cups, plates, etc. and drinks and snacks for purchase. We got the breakfast basket, which had enough food for three days of light breakfasts. We also appreciated the welcome room, open 24 hours with snacks, games, extra coffee supplies and dvds. The grounds, pool and hot tub are beautiful and immaculately maintained and the property is a short drive/walk to downtown Ojai. We’d definitely stay there again.

Wonderful and peaceful oasis, like a heavenly dream. The pool area and tea room were so lovely and in general the vibe is pure joy and tranquility, what a calming and healing experience. Shout out to Lauren for being so attentive to our group, she made us feel so welcome and pampered. Love this place!

Can't say enough good things about this wonderful place. Beautiful environment, quiet, tranquil, lots of birds and no kids! Amenities met our needs and were glad that the usual array of typical hotel stuff was no where in sight. Best place ever to unwind and rest and guests were also quiet and courteous. Maybe it's the environment. Can't recommend it enough. Christine H

Front desk workers were AMAZING. Super friendly and gave me the quietest room from a long day of driving. I believe her name is Brianna or close to that (I suck at names). She was wonderful, called up to my room to make sure it was quiet enough for me. Room is nice and clean as well. Give that lady a raise!

My recent stay at Comfort Inn & Suites was the worst experience I’ve had traveling. I payed full price for this room at $260 and I was hoping for a three star experience. I stayed at this hotel based on the three star hotel rating. I was traveling alone with my two boys. After checking in at 11 o’clock at night we went up to our room on the second floor and the entire floor smelled of cannabis. I went back down to ask for a different room on a different floor. The attendant at the front desk did give me another room on the first floor. I checked the room to make sure that the windows were locked and there was a homeless woman sitting right on the curb about 20 feet away from the window. And I did not feel comfortable staying in this room next to a busy street with a homeless person. The rooms have not been updated since it was built and had an old dingy smell. I went back to the front desk because I did not feel comfortable staying at the hotel and explained that to the front desk attendant. He called Bernadette Aggen the general manager to speak with her. She told him that I would not get a refund and to make accommodations for me. I did not have enough money to go to the Marriott down the street, which was the same price. When you are searching for hotels in this area, the Marriott does not come up, so be sure to look up Marriott in Ventura for a better experience. I did not get any accommodation. I did not get a refund, I did not get a partial refund. I got a different room on the other side that was not next to the street. I did not get an upgraded room. There was no accommodations given.

We were so happy to have stayed here. Cold a/c. Clean room. Comfy bed lots of tv channels. We left 10 minutes after checking in at the over priced “Inn On The Beach” and found this place. Friendly staff too! It was ALL great!!!

Awesome! We were on our way through going to Pismo. We had just left inn at the beach-awful (stay away). The hotel clerk here (wish I would’ve gotten her name) was so nice. She was going to give us an upgrade just because she knew what we just went through with the other hotel and we were burnt out. Great location, good rooms, friendly staff.

I was not a guest at this motel.
I was visiting friends who were staying there. This place gets an A++ your friendliness and hospitality. When I walked in the front door, Bernadette greeted me with, "Hello, sunshine!". I look behind me because I thought she was talking to the photons. Her assistant Paul was also friendly and helpful.
Bernadette called my friend's room and he came down to get me.
Next time I m in Ventura I will stay there!
