If expensive looking things Impress you then you'll like this hotel. I dive deeper than what it looks like. Be careful walking around the hotel at night. Alot of crime in the area. If you don't like crowds then downtown definitely isn't for you because there basically isn't a night that downtown isn't crowded. Downtown at night is a freak show, more drunks than I care to deal with.

Edit: The resort manager Richard called and resolved my situation. He also promised on actions to prevent such things from happening again as well as a decent compensation for my experience. He is very professional and responsive. Given his good attitude towards this whole situation and positive resolution and steps to make this resort better, I’m willing to change my original review. And I look forward to visiting this resort again.

Housekeeping left our door open the entire day while we were out, and to top it off, a random knock at 3 am? Scary and not cool! While the manager offered apologies and an explanation later, the absence of any compensation to address this gross oversight was disappointing, to say the least.
And let's talk service—or lack thereof. Asked for a microwave, had to call twice, and it took more than half hour to get it. Plus, housekeeping picked up our used towels but forgot to replace them, leaving us with only two towels until we had to specifically request replacements.
Overall, despite the hotel's self-proclaimed 4-star rating, my experience fell far below this standard. It was the most unpleasant and unsatisfactory hotel stay I have encountered. Won't be going back and can't recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free stay.

The majority of the staff is absolutely lovely - especially the front desk, bellboys, and valet attendants. The rooms are beautifully renovated and the location is great.
Unfortunately, my room was not cleaned. I was gone from 11a-3pm and called to ask for it to be cleaned when I arrived back. After waiting to take a nap, I called back when they had not come and said I’ll just request later in the evening. I did so before dinner at 6pm but the cleaner made the bed and did nothing else (kind of a makeshift turndown). Towels were still in the bathroom floor. No water replacement. And worse, the housekeeper had gone through the effort of starting to clean the trash cans but rather than cleaning them they just stacked them on the table and left them there (with garbage still in it). I spent two days in a room to never have it cleaned once.
I am hopeful this is a one off experience as my parents room was cleaned and things ran normally, but this absolutely should be addressed as otherwise the stay was lovely!

OMG! I have never been to a more beautiful hotel in my life. The standard queen room was more of a suite with an L-shaped couch in the corner. The amenities were all top-notch, from the white marble tile to the black accented faucets and mirrors. The ballrooms were spacious, and the breakfast we had for our conference was in a room filled with light from a huge window. Everyone was very attentive to our needs throughout my stay.
I wish I had more time to just enjoy my room or visit the warm inviting pool (I was there for a conference). There is an ample health gym on site with plenty of equipment to use.
It's a short walk to lots of restaurants and places to visit as you enjoy views of the water.
I look forward to coming back with my wife and kids.

Stayed here over the weekend with my family. Would come here again in a heartbeat! First and foremost, the location is superb; within walking distance to so many great restaurants, shops, etc. The architecture is gorgeous and they did an absolutely amazing job maintaining the original charm of the building while also renovating it with modern finishes. Our room was spacious and super clean with amazing views. The best thing about this place is the service. Every single person we encountered from the valet, to the front desk, to the wait staff provided us with friendly smiles and prompt service. We mentioned at the front desk that we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and when we came back to our room there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us. Everything about this place is top notch.

Upon arrival: Reymond was a most gracious host and made us feel so welcome.
The accommodations: So comfortable, well-appointed, spotlessly clean. Aces!
Breakfast: Just wow. A wonderful array of options, and Jayson's claim to be a super omelette maker was indeed legit and well-earned.
A truly lovely place to stay; a home away from home.

Stayed for one night but wished for more. Kinda a last minute booking for a business trip; didn’t do a great deal of research ahead of time and was absolutely, pleasantly surprised by my whole experience. Beautiful, quaint home on a quiet street. Lots of charm everywhere. Hosts Raymond and Jayson were friendly, helpful and responsive. Room was well thought out, appointed and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was so delicious. Great conversation between guests and hosts; felt like long time friends rather than strangers. Super value. Next tear….will stay longer!

My husband and I stayed just one night at The Kenwood Gables and that one night left an incredible impression. The hospitality of both Jayson and Reymond is an experience that I will recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in St. Pete. The prices are reasonable and you really get more than you pay for. There is a personal warmth to this place. You can tell that it was and is a home. The room was beautiful and clean, Jayson was thoughtful to guide us and explain the room’s details to us when we arrived.
One of the biggest reasons that we will definitely be returning in the future… my husband and I are both vegan, I am also gluten free. In all the hotels and B&Bs that I have stayed at, none compare to the accommodations experienced at the Kenwood Gables. We were provided with delicious fresh fruit, multiple options for alternative milks for coffee/tea, bread, butter, and the kicker… a fresh made omelette with vegan cheese and sausage!!! I started to get emotional at the table. This was like nothing I had ever experienced traveling as a vegan. This just shows the level of hospitality you get when you decide to stay with Jayson and Reymond. In every detail you can tell these two care about their business and the people who stay here. The first greeting you get when you walk in the door is “welcome home” and they mean it.

Amazing ! Simply wonderful experience here at this beautiful property. Reymond and Jayson the most gracious, friendly hosts. Fabulous breakfast in the morning, delightful rooms, such attention to every detail which made the trip simply the best! Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back !
